Chapter 82 (Part 13)
The harbor district never truly slept.
Even at midnight
the sea continued breathing against the docks.
Cold wind moved through rusted containers.
Chains rattled softly in the darkness like distant whispers.
And beneath that endless industrial silence
something violent waited.
The Road to the Warehouse
The old warehouse stood near the edge of the harbor district.
Massive.
Dark.
Half abandoned.
Its metal walls were stained by years of rain and neglect.
Only one dim light remained visible near the upper windows.
Rihan stopped several meters away.
"…this place looks like a horror movie."
Alok didn't respond.
His eyes remained fixed on the warehouse entrance.
The pendant beneath his shirt burned hotter now.
Not randomly.
Not chaotically.
It was reacting.
To her.
She was inside.
Alive.
For now.
Fear and Forward Motion
Most people misunderstood fear.
They believed courage meant not feeling it.
But true courage
was moving forward while fully understanding the danger ahead.
Rihan understood that now.
Because for the first time since meeting Alok
he genuinely wanted to run away.
Not from the gang.
Not from the warehouse.
From Alok himself.
Something about him tonight felt wrong.
Too calm.
Too focused.
Like the emotional part of him had been stripped away and replaced with pure intent.
"…Alok."
Still no answer.
"…when we get her back… you're coming home with us, okay?"
That time
Alok stopped walking for a brief moment.
Only briefly.
Then
"…if possible."
The answer sent a chill through Rihan's spine.
Because it didn't sound like confidence.
It sounded like preparation.
Inside the Darkness
The warehouse interior smelled of metal, oil, and seawater.
Large cargo containers formed narrow pathways through the building like an artificial labyrinth.
Above
broken lights flickered weakly.
Below
shadows stretched endlessly.
A man stepped forward from the darkness.
Then another.
Then more.
Mist Gang.
At least ten.
Maybe more hidden deeper inside.
One of them laughed.
"Well, damn…"
Another cracked his neck slowly.
"The kid actually made it this far."
Rihan clenched his fists nervously.
"…there's too many."
But Alok kept walking.
Step.
Step.
Step.
No hesitation.
No fear.
One gang member frowned slightly.
"…why's he walking like that?"
Another spat on the ground.
"Who cares? Break his legs."
Three men rushed forward simultaneously.
Fast.
Coordinated.
Clearly experienced street fighters.
But
the moment they entered Alok's range
everything changed.
The Difference Between Violence and Skill
Most fights were chaotic.
People swung wildly.
Shouted loudly.
Panicked internally.
But Alok moved differently.
Quietly.
Efficiently.
Like every motion already existed in his mind before the fight began.
The first punch came from the left.
He tilted his head slightly.
Miss.
The second attacker aimed low.
Alok stepped over the sweep naturally
then struck downward with his elbow.
CRACK—!!
The attacker collapsed instantly.
The third pulled a knife.
Without hesitation
Alok grabbed his wrist.
Twisted.
The blade fell.
A punch followed immediately after.
THUD—!!
Blood sprayed across the concrete floor.
Silence.
Not complete silence.
But the kind born from shock.
One Mist Gang member stepped backward unconsciously.
"…what the hell…"
Rihan stared too.
Because this wasn't how Alok used to fight.
No wasted movement.
No panic.
No uncertainty.
It was almost mechanical.
Cold.
The Pendant Awakens
Then
the pendant reacted again.
Violently.
Gold violet light flashed beneath Alok's shirt.
The air around him distorted slightly.
Only for a moment.
But enough.
The gang members saw it.
And fear spread instantly.
"…did you see that?"
"…what was that?!"
Alok raised his head slowly.
His eyes
weren't normal anymore.
Gold mixed faintly with violet near the edges of his pupils.
The pressure inside the warehouse changed.
Even the atmosphere felt heavier.
One man suddenly screamed and charged recklessly.
"SCREW THIS—!"
Alok disappeared from sight.
For a fraction of a second
he simply vanished.
Then
BOOM—!!
The attacker crashed through a metal container wall violently.
The entire warehouse shook.
Everyone froze.
Even Rihan.
Because he hadn't even seen the movement.
The Arrival of the Monster
Clap.
Clap.
Clap.
Slow applause echoed through the warehouse.
Heavy footsteps followed.
A tall figure emerged from the shadows beyond the containers.
Black coat.
Broad shoulders.
Cold eyes.
Presence alone enough to silence the room.
Darian Mendis.
The real leader of the Mist Gang.
The moment he appeared
the gang members straightened instinctively.
Fear.
Respect.
Both at once.
Darian looked at the destroyed container.
Then at the unconscious bodies scattered across the floor.
Finally
his gaze settled on Alok.
"…interesting."
His voice was calm.
Deep.
Dangerously composed.
Rihan instinctively stepped backward.
This man was different.
Not just physically strong.
Worse.
Experienced.
The kind of man who had already crossed lines normal people couldn't imagine.
Darian lit a cigarette slowly.
"…you know," he said quietly, "Ravel talks about you a lot these days."
Alok's expression didn't change.
"Where is she?"
No greeting.
No hesitation.
Straight to the point.
Darian smiled faintly.
"You came all this way…"
Smoke drifted upward lazily.
"…and that's the first thing you say?"
Alok took another step forward.
The pendant pulsed again.
Stronger.
"Where."
This time
it sounded less like a question.
And more like a warning.
The Philosophy of Predators
Darian laughed softly.
Not mockingly.
Honestly amused.
"You're interesting, kid."
He exhaled smoke slowly.
"Most people think strength is about winning fights."
A pause.
"But real strength…"
His eyes sharpened.
"…is deciding who suffers."
Silence filled the warehouse.
Rihan's face darkened.
This man was insane.
Darian spread his arms slightly.
"The weak exist to be used by the strong."
Another step forward.
"That's how society works."
Alok listened quietly.
Then
finally
he spoke.
"…wrong."
The warehouse became still.
Darian's smile faded slightly.
Alok's eyes remained cold.
"The strong protect what matters."
A pause.
"And people like you…"
The pendant flared violently.
Gold violet light exploded outward briefly.
"…are just parasites pretending to be kings."
For the first time
Darian's expression changed.
Not anger.
Interest.
Real interest.
Final Scene The Beginning of the Real
Fight
Far behind Darian
inside a locked storage section
a weak voice trembled softly.
"…brother…"
Alok heard it instantly.
His body froze for half a second.
Then
his eyes changed completely.
Coldness disappeared.
Something darker replaced it.
Something primal.
Something dangerous.
Darian noticed immediately.
And smiled.
"…there it is."
The cigarette dropped from his fingers.
He crushed it beneath his shoe.
The warehouse lights flickered overhead.
Wind roared outside.
And slowly
Darian raised his fists.
"Come then."
A monstrous pressure filled the warehouse.
Two predators stood facing each other in the dark.
And somewhere far away
beneath another sky
Ceya suddenly opened her eyes.
As if she had felt something terrible begin.
