"Isolde?"
Arthur rose to his feet. He would have never recognised her if they were in a public space, or even if she spoke to him, but seeing her beside Godfrey made him realise that this was his daughter.
"Dad!" Isolde rushed and hugged him.
"You don't know how much you've troubled my heart," Arthur sighed in relief as he patted her back, then looked at Godfrey and nodded.
Godfrey responded with a nod.
"I'm glad you're back. It would have been a huge ordeal if you weren't. The family is in need of a new head." Arthur went to his chair and looked at Isolde.
"Your mother and I have been waiting for you."
"Who do you have in mind?" Isolde asked as she sat on the chair on the other side of the desk.
Godfrey, who sat beside her, blinked at that question. Was that all she could say?
