Chapter 364 - Chapter 364: Ayaka’s Devotion; The Black Mist of Enkanomiya

[The Chinju Forest – The Sacred Spring]

As the banquet at the Yashiro Commission concluded, the evening air turned cool. Kamisato Ayaka, fueled by a mix of plum wine and a lifetime of unspoken longing, led Su Han to the depths of the Chinju Forest.

This was the private bathing grounds of the Grand Narukami Shrine, a place protected by layers of Adepti barriers. Ayaka dismissed her attendants, her hands trembling as she helped Su Han out of his formal robes and into the steaming waters of the thermal spring.

"I promised you a dance, My Lord," she whispered, her voice like a silver bell in the quiet forest.

She stepped back onto the surface of the spring, her elemental power freezing a thin, crystalline layer of ice beneath her feet. Under the moonlight and the soft glow of dancing fireflies, Ayaka began her dance. It was slow, elegant, and filled with a raw vulnerability that no diplomat had ever seen.

As the dance reached its climax, the steam and the cold mist merged. Ayaka moved closer, her skin glistening with condensation, and leaned down to press a soft, lingering kiss against Su Han's. It was a silent vow—a surrender of the White Heron to her Sovereign.

"With you by my side," Su Han whispered, pulling her close, "no one will ever force you into a cage again."

[The Tenshukaku – The Archon's Silence]

Back at the palace, the clock struck ten. Raiden Ei stared at the wall, her expression unreadable. Yae Miko sauntered in, a mischievous glint in her fox-eyes.

"Now, now, don't be grumpy, Ei. He's just out for a 'late-night snack' at the Yashiro Commission. You've had him to yourself long enough; let the little heron have her turn."

"I am not 'grumpy', Miko," Ei huffed, though her purple eyes flickered with a hint of annoyance. "I was simply going to... meditate."

"Hehe, save the meditation for tomorrow. Ayaka has suffered in silence for a long time. Today, she finally found her voice." Miko chuckled, knowing that while Ei was the Archon, she wouldn't interfere with the Sovereign's private affairs.

[Watatsumi Island – The Abyss Descent]

While peace reigned in Inazuma City, a nightmare was unfolding on Watatsumi Island.

A thick, oily black mist began to bubble up from the depths of the whirlpool leading to Enkanomiya. Sangonomiya Kokomi, sensing a catastrophic shift in the island's pulse, rushed from her palace.

"The Abyss..." she gasped, staring down at the coral reefs now choked by darkness.

The Phone Bug signals were dead. The elemental field was being warped by the void. From the black fog, twisted figures emerged: Shadowy Husk Knights, rift-hounds, and a legion of Abyssal monsters.

"Seal the island!" Kokomi commanded. "Report to the Shogunate! Tell them the gate to the deep has been breached!"

But the Abyss was prepared. Abyss Lectors and Heralds manifested around the shrine, their voices echoing with forbidden knowledge.

"The Prince is displeased," a Pyro Lector announced, raising his staff. "Let this island be the first sacrifice to the void. Capture the Priestess—the Sovereign will surely pay a high price for her."

[The Fall of Sangonomiya]

Kokomi fought with everything she had. Her Hydro-elemental arts, recently bolstered by Su Han's guidance, created a temporary sanctuary for her soldiers. But she was facing four Lectors simultaneously.

The battle was frantic. Her soldiers, trained in Haki, managed to hold the line for several minutes, but the corruptive power of the Abyss began to wither their spirits.

BOOM!

A concentrated blast of Abyssal fire struck Kokomi in the back. She collapsed, her vision blurring as the darkness closed in. In her final moments of consciousness, she saw the purple barrier of the Abyss Lector closing over the island, cutting Watatsumi off from the rest of the world.

If only Lord Su Han were here... was her last thought before the silence of the void claimed her.
