Chapter 279 - Chapter 279: Digging Three Feet Deep, and the Battle of Whole Cake Island Begins!

Cocoa beans.

The raw material for chocolate. A luxury in Teyvat, a staple here.

Jean looked at the warehouse, her eyes shining not with greed, but with the calculation of a Grand Master. This wasn't just candy; it was an economic revolution for Mondstadt.

"Hey... who are you? Why are you attacking us?"

A wounded pirate guard lay on the ground, staring in disbelief. His Transponder Snail had been crushed.

Jean didn't look at him. She swept her hand, and the crates vanished into her storage artifact.

"Take me to the port," she commanded, her voice cold. "Or this warehouse will be your tomb."

A gust of wind wrapped around the Aquila Favonia.

Slash.

Before the pirate could blink, the entire roof of the warehouse was sheared off.

The pirate's eyes widened. "That power... you're one of them. The ones who defeated Doflamingo and Admiral Fujitora!"

"You're well-informed," Jean said.

"Are you... are you going to surrender? We have more people this time."

The pirate swallowed hard. He remembered the reports. The man who crushed the Summit War. The woman who split Pica. And now, a whole team of them?

"I'll take you! Just don't kill me!"

"Smart choice. I'm only here for resources."

Under the pirate's guidance, Jean found the shipyard. Ships, lumber, steel—everything valuable was taken. She was thorough. As the saying went: pluck the feathers from a passing goose.

"Is there anything else?"

"Uh... the clothing factory? Lots of fabric..."

"Lead the way."

The pirate trembled. These people weren't just raiding; they were digging three feet deep!

Elsewhere, Shenhe was even more efficient.

She had captured three "tongues." Two were already dead.

She looked at the third. "Tell me where the treasury is. Or join them."

"Yes! Yes! Please don't kill me!"

The manager of the island scrambled to lead the way.

Suddenly, a deafening explosion echoed from Whole Cake Island.

The battle had begun.

...

On the deck of The Alcor.

Mona sat in a deck chair, sipping a cold Cola, watching the livestream.

"Ah... this is the life. Look at all that loot."

"Ingredients. Materials. This 'Totto Land' is a goldmine."

"It's a pity I have to guard the ship. Otherwise, I'd want to go grab some too."

Suddenly, the temperature spiked.

"Miss Mona! Enemy attack!" a sailor screamed, pointing at a fireball hurtling towards them like a meteor.

"Relax. I already saw it."

Pop.

Mona dissolved into a splash of bubbles. She reappeared in mid-air.

"A mere fireball... extinguish!"

A whip of hydro energy lashed out, shattering the projectile.

On the shore, Charlotte Oven stared in shock. "My attack... neutralized?"

"That woman... she looks like the one from Dressrosa!"

"So they are invading!" Oven's eyes burned with heat and rage.

"Heat Fruit... Heat Wave Fist!"

The air shimmered and distorted as he punched, sending a blast of superheated air towards the ship.

"Nice try," Mona scoffed.

A hydro barrier materialized around The Alcor, absorbing the heat with a hiss of steam.

Mona vanished again.

Oven looked around frantically. "Where—"

He felt a chill at his side.

"Mirror Reflection of Doom... Hard Vortex Water Blade!"

A high-pressure water drill slammed into his ribs. Even with his Armament Haki, the force was overwhelming.

Crack.

Oven vomited blood and was sent flying off the pier, crashing into the ocean.

"Lord Oven!" his subordinates screamed.

But before they could move, a wave swept them away.

In the water, Oven struggled. He was a Devil Fruit user; the sea was his tomb. But something grabbed his legs—a water elemental, dragging him down into the crushing depths.

Ten minutes later, the Minister of Browned Food was dead.

...

In the sky.

Klee sat in her red mechanical plane, pouting.

"Sister Lisa, why are there no enemies? Klee wants to fight!"

"Be patient, little spark," Lisa soothed. "The enemies are all gathered in that big cake castle."

Rosalyne laughed. "Don't worry, darling. You'll get to bomb them soon enough. They're just... a little busy right now."

"Okay..."

Inside the Whole Cake Chateau, chaos reigned.

The Wedding Cake collapsed. Big Mom screamed.

"Gear Fourth: Kong Gun!"

Luffy, having learned the basics of Ryuo from Beidou, launched a punch that actually made Big Mom stagger.

But that only woke the beast.

"Brat... you think that's enough? Napoleon!"

Her hat transformed into a giant greatsword. Her Conqueror's Haki erupted, cracking the very air.

Nami gasped, her knees shaking. "This monster..."

"Ikoku Sovereignty!"

Big Mom swung. A shockwave of pure destruction tore through the castle, obliterating half the structure and carving a path of ruin through the island behind it.

Nami collapsed. "We... we can't beat this..."

It wasn't a fight. It was a natural disaster.

Carrot trembled. Chopper cried. "This is a nightmare! If only Sister Beidou was here! Or Mr. Zhongli!"

They felt utterly hopeless.
