Chapter 8 - The Tops' Slayer

Kaelen was incredulous.

He was standing in front of the table at those three's house. It wasn't that small, yet it was still smaller than the table at Draeven's palace. And yet, it managed to contain more food than he had ever seen before.

Kaelen turned towards Avos. "You cooked all of this?"

Avos nodded, "Yes, I did, I hope you will like it," He said, smiling at Kaelen.

"But it's a massive amount. How long did it take you?"

"Well, if I have to be honest, a little more than usual...10 or so minutes"

Kaelen's jaw dropped to the ground.

"WHAT?!...you're telling me that you cooked enough food for a whole army in just 10 minutes?!"

Avos blushed a little as he looked down, a little guilty. "I know, I'm sorry if I couldn't be a little faster."

"WHAT REASON TO BE GUILTY IS THAT?! YOU JUST DID AN IMPOSSIBLE THING!"

Aja placed her hand on Avos's shoulder, making him squirm, and then smiled proudly while puffing her chest forward.

"Oh yes, my brother is absolutely the best, I always said that and I always will," She then said.

Kaelen remained amazed for some more time before shaking his head.

"But, how are we going to finish all of this? It's just too much," Said Kaelen.

Avos reassured Kaelen, "Don't worry...You will see"

...

...

...

Kaelen was now sitting near Avos.

He was now even more shocked.

At each side of the table, munching and crunching sounds echoed loudly and at high speed as Mujin and Aja devoured whole plates of food like nothing.

"You really think you can beat me in a food-eating contest? Quit it! You never won in these five years, and you never will, because I'm the "Unbeatable Eater!" " Laughed Mujin while having a mixture of meat, mashed potato, and saliva could clearly be seen in his mouth.

"What? What?! I never won?...YOU never won in these 5 past five years, and I must make sure that this time you will still lose," Said Aja as a mixture of pork meat, rice, and saliva was instead in her mouth.

Their battle was immensely menacing and intense.

Kaelen couldn't even continue to eat...not because it was too intense, but because seeing the chewed food inside their mouths disgusted him.

On the other hand, Avos was eating calmly and unbothered next to him in a really polite way.

Kaelen leaned closer towards Avos.

"Now I get why you told me not to worry," Said Kaelen.

Avos nodded, "Yeah, Big sis and Mujin always act like this."

"And you had to endure all of this?...for how long?"

"5 years...but I don't mind it at all...I like to see my sister having such a friend."

Kaelen's eyes widened. "5 years?!... I'm sorry for you."

Avos looked at him and raised an eyebrow. "?...what do you mean?"

Kaelen "nothing nothing, just, You're a really good guy"

Avos blushed at the sudden compliment "Eh?!...T-thank you...I-I guess"

...

...

...

After the dinner, Mujin and Aja were sitting defeated at their places as they couldn't even move anymore.

"Ow...I feel like I'm going to blow up," Groaned Mujin.

"Yeah, me too," Groaned Aja.

"And thank goodness you've managed to get full...You ate more than a dozen starved wolves if someone would put an endless amount of meat in front of them," said Kaelen, looking almost annoyed.

"No regret tho, I would do it twice," Said Mujin.

"Yeah, me too," Said Aja. "But now, after we are done with the dinner, let's get to the serious matter."

Kaelen looked at her. "What do you mean?"

"What happened to you?"

Kaelen suddenly stiffened at the question as he gulped down.

"I can sense that your mind has recently gone through an immense amount of negative emotions... to a dangerous level if not taken care of," continued Aja. "So again, tell me, what exactly happened to you?"

Kaelen couldn't answer.

He felt the soreness returning as it started to scratch his throat painfully.

"I...I don't really want to talk about it now," then said Kaelen.

"..." Aja looked at Kaelen in silence.

"..."

"Ok," Said Aja, "It's fine if you don't feel like it, just take your time and feel safer now that you are with us, ok?"

Kaelen nodded in silence.

Avos looked a little nervous as well, and Mujin noticed that.

"Well," Said Aja, "Let's get ready to go to bed, Kaelen. We also have a bed for you, don't worry."

Kaelen looked up at Aja, "You want me to sleep here?"

"Of course, where else would you go? And also, unless I'm not sure that you are perfectly safe, I'm not letting you go anywhere."

"...I don't know if I should be grateful or kinda scared right now"

"Be both then"

Kaelen sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. "I should have expected this answer."

...

...

...

It was now the middle of the night.

The silence was deafening.

The sky was filled with stars.

And as almost everyone was sleeping, someone was sitting on the roof in silence, looking towards the ground.

That someone was Avos.

He looked sad and guilty.

A cool wind blew behind him, and he shuddered a little before feeling a blanket being placed on his shoulders.

"Or if you wanted a fever, then I'm taking the blanket back," Said a familiar voice behind Avos before Mujin sat near him.

Avos looked at Mujin before smiling weakly.

"I thought you were sleeping," He then said.

"I thought the same of you, yet here we are...so, are you here to see the stars or..."

"Yeah...I actually am...usually the night sky used to calm me down."

"You need to calm down?"

"I...I guess so".

Avos looked down yet again.

"...Do you feel guilty for what happened to Kaelen?" asked Mujin

Avos crossed his arms and buried his face a little inside them.

"...I made this world, Mujin...I made every single character...every single event...everything...I wrote about all the trauma that happened to Kaelen only to give him some deep...and yet I should have remembered that I'm not just a writer...I'm a God and my actions have consequences that...can change the world more than anyone else." Avos looked at his hands as they started to tremble. "Kaelen suffered because of me, Mujin...It's all my fault...my fault and of my Ideas...I'm such an idiotic god...instead of thinking about the consequences, I just wrote and...and..." Avos felt a tear running along his cheek.

Mujin took a deep breath. "I...I'm not really good at this type of situation, honestly...I don't like being serious, so I try not to be it most of the time...I don't exactly know what to tell you...Yeah, you wrote those things, and what Draeven did was because you made him like that...but the fact that you can accept your mistakes and feel guilty and sorry for them, It's also the fact that proves that you aren't a monster...you just didn't know that you writing something is different than a normal man writing...and then...You took care of Kaelen, didn't you?... You were the one to heal him, and you were the one who cooked him all the food that he needed to regain all his strength..."

"You and my sister actually ate most of it."

"It was delicious, anyway, the point is, yes, you created this world and now you're facing the consequences of it...but instead of trying to run from them or give excuses for them, you're dealing with them yourself and trying to fix them...and that isn't something that everyone can do"

Avos turned towards Mujin as some tears were still falling down his cheeks.

Mujin gently brushed Avos' tear.

"I...Thank you, Mujin, for these words...but I can't be satisfied from them alone" Avos stood up"...I need to promise myself that, no matter what, I will make sure to fix all my mistakes in this world...for how much hard it can be since Me and My sister have to go in the God's realm for all the day, I will try my best in doing that"

Mujin stood up as well.

"Well, maybe it is hard...alone...but what if we make a promise together...I can deal with the painful events in your story while you do your job as a God...what do you say?"

Avos turned towards Mujin. "You would really do that?"

Mujin smiled at Avos, "I would...after all, now I'm strong as hell," Said Mujin, flexing one of his biceps.

Avos chuckled softly, "Ok then."

"Perfect," Said Mujin, "now we just have to seal our promise...are we using our pinkies for this?"

Avos blushed a little while chuckling yet again, "A pinky promise? Aren't we a little too old for that?"

"Nah, just give me the pinky," Said Mujin, extending his pinky finger forward.

Avos chuckled again as he did the same. "Ok, I promise that I will do my best to change this world with your help and while also helping you to do that."

"And I, Mujin, promise the same and to be like a sort of hero of this world, in a certain sense."

They interlaced their pinkies.

"And if someone says a lie..." continued Mujin, "...His dick will fall and die."

Avos was confused before he started to laugh out loud at the grotesque statement.

"And from where does this come from?"

"Nothing, just a stupid game that I used to do with my friends, sometimes people laugh, some other times people try to beat me up...mostly the second...guess today I was lucky...but now, let's return to the serious part...what name did I choose?"

"Name?"

"Yes, A name...a good hero should always have a name...so let me think one"

Mujin started to think intensely before something popped into his mind.

"Oh my god...I think I just got the perfect name."

"Really? And what is that?" asked Avos.

"THE TOPS' SLAYER!!!"

"...but some of the problems aren't always because of the tops"

"Whatever, it's a cool name, so I'm keeping it."

"Yeah, it is kinda cool."
