The Infection Source Research Institute was officially established in the eighth year of the New Era, while Cheng Wu led a group of inspectors to defect exactly three years later in the eleventh year of the New Era.
However, before the official unveiling of the research institute, an internal dedicated research facility was already set up within the inspection station, specifically responsible for decrypting and researching infection sources.
With this preliminary foundation, today's Infection Source Research Institute must already have a complete prototype, and the eighth year of the New Era was merely the completion of the final site selection, construction, and official opening.
