Flames are burning.
Unlike other cities overrun by insects and beasts, this place is entirely occupied by humans. No one knows what day it is today, but every corner of the streets is filled with shadows of people. Every face is brimming with a crazed expression, eyes bloodshot, necks tense, as if trying to vent their emotions through their cries.
Central Square.
At the front of the crowd stands a giant altar. Although forged of marble, it is surrounded by a vivid red, like solidified blood plasma, glaring and eye-catching.
As the crowd's screams intensified, the blue flames on the altar suddenly flickered, and amidst the exploding flames, a pitch-black silhouette appeared at the center of the altar.
Its figure seemed to swallow the light. Though the flames were cast upon it, nothing could be seen, just a pure dark shadow.
At this moment, the crowd went completely mad. Seeing this shadow, they suddenly knelt on the ground, mumbling words unknown.
