Chapter 21 - Episode 22: The Fall of the Sea God

The obsidian gates groaned as they swung inward, revealing the palace halls of Poseidon. The six stepped inside cautiously, weapons raised, their footsteps echoing across the vast chamber.

The interior was unlike anything they had seen before. The palace did not feel carved or built; it felt grown. Walls of black coral pulsed faintly, veins of glowing sapphire running through them like the lifeblood of the sea. Giant tridents stood embedded into the floor, each taller than a tower, shimmering faintly with power.

"This place…" Seraphina whispered. "It feels alive."

"Because it is," Dorian muttered grimly, tightening his grip on his sword.

As they advanced, the floor suddenly trembled. The doors behind them slammed shut, sealing them inside. The runes carved into the walls blazed with blinding light.

The ground shifted violently. What had been a hall transformed into a labyrinth of shifting coral and rising water, cutting the group off from each other. Each corridor twisted, reflecting illusions of memories and fears.

---

Luna stumbled into a corridor of mirrors, each reflection showing a different version of herself—some monstrous, some fragile, some broken. Voices whispered from the glass. You are not real. You should not exist. You are nothing.

She struck the mirrors with her gauntlets, shattering them one by one. "I don't care what I am," she shouted, her voice trembling. "I will keep moving forward!"

---

Adrian walked into a hall where hundreds of armored soldiers rose from the ground—copies of himself, each bearing the same crimson eyes, each pointing their claymores at him. "You are not a hero," they hissed. "You are just a weapon waiting to be broken."

Adrian roared and swung his claymore, cutting through illusions, blood and salt burning in his chest as he fought himself.

---

Seraphina and Dorian found themselves together in a field of statues. Each statue bore the face of someone they had loved—frozen, lifeless, victims of Medusa's curse. Seraphina trembled, her bow lowering. "This is her pain… all of it."

Dorian gripped her shoulder, steady and firm. "It's not your curse anymore. It's hers. And she gave you strength, not chains."

Together, they destroyed the statues, light bursting from Seraphina's arrows and Dorian's sword.

---

Kratos strode into a hall filled with shades of the past—Sparta burning, his wife and child screaming, Ares' laughter echoing through the fire. His chest heaved, his grip on the Blades of Chaos shaking. But he pressed forward, cutting down the shades until nothing remained but silence. His eyes burned with vengeance, but also with resolve.

---

Achradina entered a chamber of pure emptiness, only an endless mirror of herself staring back. The reflection spoke, its voice soft yet sharp.

You have hidden your name. You have hidden your truth. When the time comes, will you still run from it?

She closed her eyes, gripping her spear tightly. "When the time comes, I will not run."

The reflection shattered like glass.

---

The six regrouped at the heart of the labyrinth, panting, battered but alive. The chamber shifted once more, folding back into a vast throne room.

And there he was.

Poseidon.

He towered above them, his body a storm given form. His skin shimmered like scales of sapphire, his beard flowing like white foam. In his hand he carried a trident larger than a ship, glowing with crushing power. His eyes blazed with wrath.

"You dare invade my kingdom," his voice thundered, shaking the very sea. "You dare kill my generals. And now, you crawl here like insects, thinking you can challenge me?"

None moved. Then Luna, small but defiant, stepped forward. Her fists glowed faintly, her cloudy eyes burning with courage.

"We didn't come to crawl," she said. "We came to end you."

Poseidon's laughter shook the palace. With a single swing of his trident, the sea itself crashed forward, striking Luna like a tidal wave. She screamed as the force shattered her gauntlets and hurled her across the hall. She struck the ground, blood spilling from her lips.

"Luna!" Adrian shouted, rushing to her, but a wall of water split them apart.

Poseidon's gaze fixed on the broken little girl, and for a moment he smiled cruelly. "Pathetic. You thought yourself a warrior, child? You are nothing before a god."

He raised his trident for the killing strike.

But before it fell, silver light pierced the chamber.

Achradina.

She stood between Luna and Poseidon, her spear raised, her silver hair drifting in the current. Her eyes no longer hid—they gleamed with divine fire.

"You will not touch her," she said. Her voice was calm, cold, and absolute.

Poseidon snarled. "And who are you, little pretender? Another insect daring to defy me?"

Achradina lunged, her spear colliding with the trident. The impact was like lightning under the sea, shaking the palace itself.

The battle began.

---

She moved like a storm, faster than water itself. Her spear darted and struck, each blow forcing the sea god back. Poseidon countered with crushing waves, summoning whirlpools and storms that ripped coral apart, but Achradina cut through them as though they were nothing.

The others could only watch in awe as the two clashed. Kratos had fought gods before, but even he had never seen such power.

"You…" Poseidon growled as blood spilled from a wound in his chest. "You are no mortal."

Achradina's eyes narrowed, silver fire blazing within them. "Remember this, sea god: no throne lasts forever."

With a cry that shook the ocean, she drove her spear through Poseidon's heart.

The sea roared. The palace trembled. Poseidon staggered, his trident falling from his grasp. His eyes widened as he stared at her, realization dawning in his final breath.

"You… Nike…" he rasped, the truth clawing at his throat. But the word died before it left his lips.

The god of the sea collapsed, his body dissolving into foam and storm. The ocean stilled.

Silence.

Achradina lowered her spear, her breath heavy, her face shadowed. She turned back toward the others, her gaze unreadable.

Luna, still weak, whispered hoarsely, "…You saved me."

Achradina only nodded. "It is not over. The gods will come. And when they do, we must be ready."

The companions stood in the ruins of Poseidon's palace, the impossible now done. A god had fallen. But in his silence, a storm of Olympus was already brewing.
