A Former Hero’s Role as an Extra

Leo Murphy, a Lieutenant of the United Alliance of Earth, was living a life of struggle, hardship, and brutality. Surviving on the nightmarish front-lines against extraterrestrial invaders, his only sense of sanity comes to reading a Romance-Fantasy novel entitled, “The Hero’s Fateful Path,” setting place in a medieval fantasy world at war against demons and dark forced alike. Despite reading the cliche story of a chosen hero saving the world with his harem, Leo has always felt a sense of normality when engaging with this story to escape the difficulties of the battlefield. Mocking the story has been his go-to coping method with stress. Unfortunately, as fate had it, Leo was killed, and thrown into the novel that he was reading. Not as the protagonist, villain, side-character, or even a minor villain, but a unnamed extra. Thrown into the body of a minor baron young master named Alizar Von Elundur, Leo must learn to navigate this fantasy world, with the knowledge of the novel alongside his experience as a soldier. “I guess this is my life now…”
