Chapter 13 - Chapter 13

Xiao Bao was dumbfounded. Back when he used to hang out with that group of boozy

friends, they played around with women in all sorts of ways. He'd even dabbled with

aphrodisiacs before, knowing full well how dangerous they could be when they took

effect. "It's impossible!! There must be an antidote!! Get it out..."

Before he could finish his sentence, he was met with a curtain of blood. With a swift

swing of Huai Ens Longsword, two heads rolled to the ground. Dark red blood sprayed

over both of them, soaking their bodies and faces. The two heads stared wide-eyed,

unblinking, as they rolled to Xiao Bao's feet, frightening him into screaming and

sitting down, repeatedly backing away.

Huai En glared at him. "The needles, pull them out."

Xiao Bao forced himself to steady his mind, quickly assisting him. His fingers trembled as he pulled out the silver needles from his back, feeling the tremors of the person in his arms with each extraction. His own heart clenched in discomfort with each tug.

"Zheng... Miss Zheng... Are you alright?"

The person in his arms was frail, their

body still shaking uncontrollably. Both covered in blood, it was hard to tell whose was whose.

"It's hard to tell whose is whose."

"Help... Help me to the riverside..."

Xiao Bao hurriedly lifted the person, carefully inching towards the riverbank, his

movements cautious, afraid of aggravating any wounds.

The distance to the river, less than a mile, felt unusually long as they walked.

Xiao Bao gradually realized something was wrong.

Over the short distance, the person's face, initially pale from blood loss, began to

flush abnormally red, and their breathing became rapid.

Xiao Bao's heart sank as he realized the effects of the drug were kicking in.

When it came to such matters, Xiao Bao was far more experienced than Huai En.

Huai En only knew how uncomfortable it felt, clutching at his collar, unable to understand how to relieve the internal heat.

Even though Huai En clearly heard that it was an aphrodisiac and knew what

aphrodisiacs were, experiencing the sensation firsthand felt completely unfamiliar.

Xiao Bao placed Huai En by the riverside, but before he could react, he saw Huai En

suddenly plunge into the river, submerging his entire head.

It was early summer, and although the weather was cool, in the deep mountains

early in the morning, it still felt damp and chilly. Xiao Bao hurriedly followed, pulling

him out of the water.

"Miss Zheng, you've lost too much blood. If you catch a cold now, it could be fatal."

Huai'en, soaked through, was lifted up by him, his face a mess of embarrassment,

but still, in Xiao Bao's eyes, he remained pitiable, heart-wrenching, his thick makeup

washed away by sweat, blood, and water, revealing a childish face.

Xiao Bao was somewhat surprised; the beauty's natural look was drastically

different from before, not only younger by several years but also exuding a stubborn

aura between her brows, even more enchanting than before.

"Let go of me... Get lost..." Huai'en waved his hand, sat on a rock, and with a swift

motion, tore off the two pieces of torn cloth from his arms, taking out a small white

porcelain bottle, scooping out a transparent ointment and applying it to the wounds on his arms.

"Miss Zheng, let me help you." Xiao Bao looked at those slender arms, swallowed

hard.

"Miss Zheng, let me help you," Xiao Bao said, eyeing those slender, pale arms,

swallowing hard.

"Get lost," Huai'en replied coldly, without even lifting his eyes.

After applying the ointment to his hands, Huai'en was already panting. Despite that,

he persisted in tearing off the cloth from his right leg. The wounds on his hands varied in severity, but none were too serious.

However, on his right leg, from knee to

calf, a wound over a foot long stretched across his slender, muscular leg, still oozing

blood, quite alarming. Xiao Bao's heart raced as he watched.

The most severe wound was on his waist. Without hesitation, Huai'en lifted his garment to apply the medicine, gasping in pain. Seeing this, Xiao Bao felt both

heartache and admiration.

Huai'en lifted his gaze, glaring coldly at Xiao Bao."I told you to get lost, got it?" He

knew he was exhausted, having lost too much blood, and he could no longer control

the effects of the medicine. If he were to have a seizure, it would surely disgrace him.

Even if he were to die here, he would never allow anyone to see him in that state.

"Miss Zheng... How can I leave when you're in this state?" Xiao Bao saw her panting

heavily, flushed all the way up to her neck, her eyes misty with tears, incredibly

enticing.

Xiao Bao knew it wasn't the right time, cursed himself for being a beast, yet couldn't

suppress his strong desire, imagining himself pushing her down...

Having spent days with Huai'en, there was no way he couldn't tell what was on his

mind. Yet, despite being able to read him, Huai'en was in such a sorry state that she

couldn't even muster the strength to get angry properly. Lifting her left foot, she

kicked him, making him stumble, and roared, "Get out!!!"

Normally, even with injuries, Huai'en could kick him all the way to the other side,

leaving him unable to get up for three days. It was clear her physical strength was

nearly depleted.

Quickly jumping up, Xiao Bao rushed to support Huai'en again, earnestly saying to

her, "Miss Zheng... Let me help you... I'm willing to do anything to relieve you of this

poison, and... and I swear I'll take responsibility."

Narrowing her eyes, Huai'en looked at him dangerously, "What did you say?"

Grabbing Xiao Bao's wrist, she twisted it behind his back with one swift motion. Xiao

Bao cried out in pain, unable to break free no matter how hard he struggled.

Then, she pushed him away, causing Xiao Bao to crash into the rocks by the river, bruised and swollen. He groaned in pain on the ground, unable to get up for a long time,

feeling deeply aggrieved.

After calling out for a while and recovering, Xiao Bao, forgetting the pain once his injuries were better, crawled back to Huai'en's side, "Miss Zheng, you're severely

injured..."

"Get lost! If you don't scram, I'll kill you!"

Huai'en swung his sword, its edge

pressing against Xiaobao's neck with precision.

Xiaobao trembled in fear, his legs shaking uncontrollably. Despite the drum of retreat pounding in his mind, a voice of defiance echoed within him.

This might be his only chance in a lifetime. Whenever he saw her, he always had a

disgusted look. When would she suddenly realize his worth? As long as he turned this

situation to his advantage, once the rice was cooked, the beauty couldn't escape, and

she would definitely be his.

This couldn't be considered taking advantage of someone, right? Besides, Huai'en was injured for him. She must still have feelings for him, and he should take

responsibility. Otherwise, if Huai'en died from excessive bleeding due to her injury, he

would feel even more guilty. Thus, his actions were akin to saving a life, akin to

building a seven-level pagoda.

Finding the perfect excuse for himself, Xiaobao grew bolder. "Zheng Zheng Zheng,

Miss... I know you won't kill me... Otherwise... you wouldn't have saved me... right?"

Huai En squinted his eyes, saving him was for the mission, but if he was about to

die here himself, then what did he care about any plans or not, if this man insisted on

staying here to watch him make a fool of himself, he would definitely pick a fight with

him.

Holding the sword for a long time, the wounds that had just been treated with

medicine started to crack one by one again. Huai En's face twisted in pain, slowly

lowering her hand, the long sword clanged as it fell to the ground, and she swayed

dangerously.

"Miss Zheng!" Xiao Bao hurried over and hugged him from the front, "Miss Zheng,

how are you feeling?"

"Huff... huff... so hot..." Huai En squirmed uncomfortably in his arms, his eyes

alternating between clarity and confusion, just by looking, his body had reacted.

Damn it, if he could still endure at this moment, then he wouldn't be a damn man.

"Miss Zheng, let me... let me help you, I, Jin Xiaobao, swear here that I will marry Miss Zheng in a grand manner and treat her well for the rest of my life.

If I violate this oath, let me be struck by lightning and never have a good death."

Huai En couldn't help but feel like biting his tongue at Xiaobao's generous and boastful words. With a slightly clearer mind, he pushed Xiaobao away.

"Are you fucking... really stupid or just pretending?"

"Huh? What?"

Huai En's hand went to his collar, and with a forceful tear, the remaining intact fabric on his body turned into shreds, leaving his fair chest bare under the clear sky.
