Ricky knelt on the cold, dimly lit floor, his body bruised and battered. He looked up at his boss, his eyes pleading for mercy.
"Please, sir... I didn't mean to fail," Ricky stammered, his voice shaking.
His boss stood over him, expressionless. "You were supposed to retrieve the files and silence the girls. Instead, you let them escape."
Ricky winced, fresh pain shooting through his ribs. "I'll do better next time, sir. I promise."
The boss's gaze was unyielding. "There won't be a next time. You're no longer useful to me."
Ricky's eyes widened in desperation. "No, sir! Please don't say that. I'll do anything."
The boss turned away, dismissing Ricky's pleas. "You're done. You're no longer part of this operation."
As the boss walked away, Ricky's face contorted in despair. He knew his fate was sealed.
Ricky's eyes welled up with tears as he realized his downfall. He slowly got up, his battered body aching with every movement. He knew he had to face the consequences of his failure.
The boss's cold voice echoed through the room, "You're lucky you're still breathing. Don't make me regret it."
Ricky's gaze dropped, shame and defeat washing over him. He knew he'd never regain his former status.
As he turned to leave, he caught a glimpse of himself in a mirror. The reflection showed a broken, humiliated man. Ricky's eyes locked onto the image, a mix of anger and despair burning within.
He knew he had to escape, to disappear before it was too late. Ricky's mind racing, he stumbled out of the room, into the darkness.

The sun cast a warm glow through the school's windows, illuminating the bustling hallway. Students laughed and chatted, their excitement palpable as they celebrated the Mystery International Club's victory. Christine, Evan, and Charlie stood in the clubroom, their faces flushed with joy.
"Congratulations to the Mystery International Club," Charlie said, raising a bottle of milk in a toast.
Christine and Evan followed suit, their bottles clinking together.
"Who came up with that stupid name, anyway?" Christine teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
Evan chuckled, "At least I didn't have to come up with a name." Charlie playfully pouted, taking a huge gulp from her bottle before setting it down.
As they celebrated, Evan began to recount the details of their victory. "Authorities have already checked the contents of the flash drive. It's a good thing Charlie also took some vital information from the system; most of the members have been caught, and a few of their branches have been brought down." Charlie smiled, her eyes shining with pride.
"I also made sure my dad doesn't count us in the case."
"As expected from our database," she teased, earning a playful knock on the head from Evan.
Christine listened, her expression thoughtful, before Evan turned to her with a curious gaze. "But Christine, why did you delete some files from the drive?"
Christine's demeanor shifted, her voice taking on a darker tone. "It's none of your business."
The room fell silent, the tension palpable. Christine quickly smiled, attempting to diffuse the atmosphere. "I think it's better not to make some unnecessary scenes with The Peros. After all, we wouldn't want to get on their worst side; we're already on their bad side."
Charlie spoke up, her voice laced with unease. "I just hope they didn't find out our identities, after all the time I spent preparing those costumes and masks." Christine's smile faltered for a moment before she reassured Charlie, "They wouldn't know."
'They know and will be hot on our trail. I'm counting on it.'

The sound of screeching tires echoed through the school's entrance, followed by the purr of a powerful engine.
Students turned to look, their curiosity piqued as they gazed out the windows.
A sleek, black sports car came into view, its glossy paint job reflecting the sunlight. The car pulled up to the entrance, and the engine died down, leaving behind an eerie silence.
The students' whispers grew louder, their speculation running wild. "Whose car is that?" someone asked, their voice filled with excitement. "It looks expensive," another student replied, their eyes wide with admiration.
As the driver's door swung open, a young man stepped out, his confident stride commanding attention. He wore a pair of sleek sunglasses, his hair perfectly styled.
The students watched, their faces a mixture of awe and curiosity. His arrival had caused a stir, and it seemed like he was used to being the center of attention.
With a nod, he strode towards the school entrance, his presence electrifying the atmosphere. The students parted, their eyes following him.
The sports car remained parked at the entrance, its engine still warm, a symbol of Adrian's power and influence.
The sound of its arrival still lingered in the air, a reminder of the excitement that had just unfolded.
"OMG, who is he?" someone whispered. "Isn't he a rich kid from the other school?" another student asked, their voices hushed.
"Isn't that Adrian Scott?" someone asked, their voice filled with awe.
Adrian Scott stood tall, his chiseled features and confident stride captivating the entire school's attention. As he walked down the hallway, students turned to stare, their whispers growing louder.
Adrian approached a girl in the hallway, his smile charming. "Where's the MIC clubroom?" he asked, his voice flowing fluently. The girl stuttered, "It's... it's over there," pointing down the hallway.
With a nod, Adrian turned to leave, his eyes scanning the hallway until they landed on the clubroom. He strode towards it, his long legs eating up the distance. As he approached the clubroom, he found Christine alone inside, her eyes fixed on him as he entered.
Adrian's demeanor shifted, his expression intense. "Come with me," he said, his voice firm but controlled. Without warning, he grasped Christine's arm, his grip firm but not harsh. Christine struggled to break free, but Adrian's hold was unyielding.
The students around them watched in awe, some whispering among themselves about Adrian's bold move. "What's going on?" someone asked, their voice barely above a whisper. "I don't know, but it looks intense," another student replied.
As Adrian dragged Christine out of the clubroom, the scene unfolded like a dramatic plot twist, leaving everyone wondering what would happen next. Would Christine find a way to escape Adrian's grasp, or would he assert his dominance over her? The story's direction was uncertain, but one thing was clear: Adrian's presence would leave a lasting impact on Christine and the school.
