Dayo stayed in his chair long after Felix finished speaking.
The room had gone quiet. A few screens remained open across the table, each one showing a different part of the material they had collected. Names, dates, transfers, records and old documents filled the displays, but Dayo was no longer reading them individually. He was looking at the whole thing.
Felix had been standing near the window for several minutes, his phone still in his hand.
"We should have released everything," he said again. "If we had sent the full file out when we had the chance, there would be nothing left for them to control."
Dayo finally looked up. "And if we had done that without preparing the people handling it?"
Felix turned from the window. "The evidence is already there."
"I know."
"Then what are we waiting for?"
Dayo closed the file in front of him and leaned back. "We are waiting for the right people to touch it."
Felix frowned. "You think the legal team isn't ready?"
