With Kyra being grumpy she stomped her way downstairs heading for the transfer machine in the main lobby of the pokemon center. After she placed Misdreavus's ball inside she punched in the transfer code for her house. The poor machine could only silently cry, unable to speak at the unreasonable treatment.
With Misdreavus gone, Kyra's full attention returned to me and boy did she look pissed, Gastly was also following us, still laughing at Misdreavus's misfortune. Upon seeing how pissed Kyra looked Gastly wisely retreated, he even spawned some red and blue 3d movie glasses to enjoy the show.
Giving her a nervous smile, I cautiously opened my mouth "Kyra, can I get a ten second head start?"
She narrowed her eyes, "five, four"
"See ya", not hesitating for a second longer I ran straight for the exit. Just before my fingers touched the handles on the door I heard what sounded like a Tauros charging right behind me.
I didn't care anymore, I pumped any extra water I had in my body straight towards my legs, that gave me the power up I needed, with that the chase began. Street after street passed in a blur, in an attempt to lose Kyra, the next time I turned a corner I tried to duck behind a dumpster to hide from the raging bull.
At first Kyra didn't notice me and continued running on, or she would have if Gastly wasn't following along and didn't notice me hiding. Wanting his show to go on he called out to her, "GASTLY GAS!"
Kyra's shoes screeched to halt as she whipped around, upon seeing me her pursuit started again.
"DAMN YOU GASTLY!"
This pattern kept repeating for another two hours, luckily for me Kyra had a limited amount of stamina, while I never went anywhere without water. But that didn't mean I didn't get tired, like her I was exhausted, and to prevent her from getting any ideas I acted as if that run was nothing.
Kyra, feeling the pain in her legs did not want to walk back to the pokemon center. She looked over to and had Gastly float her up, seeing this cold sweat rolled down my back. This girl spent the last two hours relentlessly chasing me when all she needed to do was have Gastly freeze me in place.
It was times like this that made me paranoid to show my friends my ability to turn into water, Noah I would have no problems with, but Kyra? The moment she connected the dots on what happens to me when I get shocked by electricity, she would hunt down a Rotom.
I could only shutter at the possibilities, by the time we reached our room in the pokemon center it was really late. Kyra, given the choice of revenge now or a bed and revenge later, she easily went with the latter.
Before I went to sleep that night, I hid my tooth brush from her in the emergency bag in my body.

Upon waking up the first thing I noticed was Duskull in his own little world, just randomly floating around the room. Surprisingly enough it only took ten minutes of me fighting with myself to finally get out of bed. With all my rustling around from the sheets, a bleary eyed Kyra woke up, she didn't look happy and once her eyes focused enough that I came into view she tried to jump up from the couch she claimed last night only to fall back on her bottom.
After a moment she tried again, trying to make her way over to me, except she wasn't walking, her movements at best could be called waddling, even Piplup could move around easier then her and Piplup was a literal penguin. Eventually Kyra collapsed as she reached the end of my bed, completely spent.
"You good?" I asked
She slowly raised her head and just looked at me, "ah yes I'm fine, don't worry about me not being able to walk, that is completely normal." She said sarcastically.
Turning her head to the side she focused her eyes on Gastly, meanwhile Gastly seemed down, while he got to enjoy a show last night he was still missing his best friend Misdreavus. Seeing this Kyra's eyes softened a little, but her smile grew a bit sadistic.
"Hey Gastly, want to see Misdreavus?"
Hearing her Gastly perked up, then floated over to Kyra, "Gastly, Gas!" Gastly said, Kyra seeing the eager ghost smiled, "alright then, float me over to the phone in the main lobby."
"Gastly!" After his confirmation Kyra was lifted off my bed and started floating an inch above the ground. With that they made their way towards the door, meanwhile I, not wanting to be left behind, followed them eager to see Misdreavus's misfortune.
In the entire world there was only one place Kyra would send her partner to be punished, the tiny terror, Tina. Walking in the lobby, I didn't see Noah, odd, looking around I could see the sun glowing through the windows, looking at my watch my face reddened slightly.
It was almost one, wait if it was almost one then where was Petilil or Skorupi? Petilil hated being in her ball in the morning, Skorupi I was too tired to recall him into his ball before I passed out, as for Piplup, if there were Buizel bites she'd be there, so probably with Noah. After this I would have to find Noah, my team had to be with him. While I was lost in thought Kyra didn't notice that I stopped moving, as she continued floating towards the phone.
Not wanting to miss this I hurried to catch up to them, luckily I made it just after Kyra entered the last number to reach her house's video phone. It took less than five seconds before the line connected and we all saw the ghost type.
"MIS, MIS, MISDREAVUS!!!!"
"And a good afternoon to you too Misdreavus"
"MISDREAVUS!"
"Gahaha, Gastly!"
It was Misdreavus, or something that had the shape of her, it was hard to tell.
"MIS, MIS, MIS", Misdreavus started pleading with Kyra to take her back, to get her out of hell.
Misdreavus was so pink, it would make Barbie jealous, while Misdreavus normally did have pink tips at the end of her hair, now it was all neon pink, most likely a wig it even had a little bow on top. She was wearing a princess dress meant for a toddler. Last but not least was her face, if there was spare room, it was covered with makeup or stickers covered in glitter.
Even for someone who didn't mind pink, it was hard to look at without hurting my eyes. Aside from her voice it was impossible to tell that, the pokemon on the other end of the call was a Misdreavus. During all this Misdreavus was still screaming into the line, Gastly was close to being the first ghost to die from a burst lung from laughing too hard and Kyra was still taunting Misdreavus.
"Oooohh Misdreavus what are you doooing?" Misdreavus hearing the all too familiar voice of Tina, she was practically in tears, she even started pounding on the screen. Kyra seeing this had a cruel smile on her face.
"Misdreavus what are you- oh, hey Kyra, hey Hikari, how are you two?" On the screen Tina appeared.
Unlike last time she was no longer in the strait jacket, "so what do you two think of my latest masterpiece?" she said while wildly gesturing to the floating disaster.
"It's definitely something", I said "maybe she need more glitter in her hair"
This made Tina give Misdreavus another appraising look, then nodding her head in agreement, "you're right she does need more glitter, maybe some streamers too" she said while muttering that last part. Misdreavus still caught it and started crying entire streams of water, completely ruining her makeup.
Now in all this one might ask, but why doesn't Misdreavus just phase through the walls and escape? Believe me in the past she tried, Tina when she wanted could give Barry a run for his money if something pink was involved.
Kyra, seeing her sister about to tackle Misdreavus to the ground to start another round of makeup, finally stopped making fun of Misdreavus. "All right that's enough, Misdreavus, how would you like to come back?"
"But I only had her for a few hours?" Tina pouted, displeased that her fun was interrupted, Misdreavus on the other hand desperately latched on to the lifeline. "MISDREAVUS!"
"Alright then Misdreavus here's the deal, soon we will be battling the gym leader, that means for the next few days we will be training non stop. If you slack off even once you're going straight back to Tina for a whole week."
Before Kyra finished, Misdreavus was shaking her whole body in agreement, still seeing Tina pouting in the background I reached into my bag and pulled out the Sylveon plushy "here Tina, I got this for you, you can play with this."
Seeing the plushy her eyes lit up, "sooo cuteee!"
With Tina motivated she recalled Misdreavus into her pokeball and transferred Misdreavus to the pokemon center. I, not lacking in funds, sent home the gifts for my mom and Tina.
We waited in the pokemon center for only a few minutes before we saw the nearby transfer machine's light brighten.
The moment Kyra released Misdreavus from her ball the first thing the ghost did was chuck her outfit straight into the nearby trash can. The only reason Misdreavus didn't dart back towards our room to take a shower to remove the remaining glitter still in her hair is because she didn't want to find out if that counted as slacking off by Kyra.
Kyra, seeing that Misdreavus was ready, headed back up to our room to find Duskull, meanwhile I left the pokemon center to find Noah. With the gym battle approaching I moved towards the training grounds.
Sure enough I found Noah, and currently he was on the field with his Shinx against a trainer using a Starly. Since Noah was in the middle of a battle I figured that I may as well get comfortable, moving to the stands I settled in to watch.
As I watched, I was surprised. They made a really good team, Shinx managed to easily knock out the Starly then a Zubat belonging to another trainer. With the battles over and Shinx tired Noah left the challenger's spot then headed for the stands.
Seeing this I got up to follow Noah, at first he didn't notice me and continued walking, just as I was about to touch his shoulder I found my team, Petilil was on Turtwig's shell, and Piplup was yelling at Noah's Wooper, who lounging in Noah's backpack eating snacks while staring Piplup dead in the eye as he munched on Buizel bites.
With me being so close to Noah, he noticed me, "oh you're finally awake?"
"Yeah I am, excuse me for a second." I said as I moved over to Piplup and picked her up so she would stop yelling at Wooper. Grabbing her from her sides, it took a good ten seconds before Piplup realized that she wasn't on the ground anymore. Looking up, the first thing she saw was my raised eyebrow, thinking that I would support her in her effort to gain snacks. She started pointing at Wooper.
"Pip, Piplup, lup!"
I just let go of her, Piplup not expecting me to just drop her, her butt hit the ground. Tears started appearing in her eyes at the unfairness, all she wanted was a snack, first she was bullied by Wooper and now even her trainer wasn't on her side. With Piplup now quiet I turned to face Noah who was enjoying the antics of his team. Feeling embarrassed I turned my face to the side, "do you know where Skorupi is?"
He chuckled, "yeah, he's over there on that rock sun bathing." Noah said while pointing behind me, following the direction of his finger I found the last member of my team.
"Thank you Noah, for taking out my team."
"It was no problem, out of curiosity how late were you two out?"
"I, I don't know? It was around one when Kyra stopped chasing me, and I think we got back to the hotel room around two-ish?"
Hearing me he shook his head in exasperation, "Hm, anyway I'm going to continue training my team good luck with yours", Noah said, he then signaled Turtwig to come over, Turtwig, who still had Petilil chilling on his shell moved over towards Noah. Once the two were close enough I picked up Petilil. Now thatI had a firm grip on her I put her in her usual spot in my hoodie.
Once she was secure I moved over to the drama queen Piplup, who still refused to get up, I just treated her as a plushy, wrapping one of my arms around her then moved over to Skorupi. "Hey Skorupi, are you ready for some training?"
With me only catching him yesterday I didn't know how he would react if I picked him up, luckily for me it worked. Hearing me he stretched his tail then faced me, "Skorupi?"
"Hey Skorupi, remember yesterday, when I caught you I told you that my goal as a trainer is to make my team stronger?"
He nodded in response, "great, then we are going to start, so can you please follow along?"
Skorupi before getting off his rock adjusted his hat then jumped off the rock, once all his legs were on the ground he started following me. Now that I had my team I waved goodbye to Noah, who waved back. As we were leaving, Wooper couldn't resist messing with Piplup again, he used his tail as a baseball bat and launched his empty bag of Buizel bites at Piplup.
Despite Piplup being held on my chest the wrapper relying on the wind blew right into her face. "Pip? LUPPP?!" Piplup started wriggling around in my arms trying to get me to take her back so she could fight Wooper.
I couldn't help it before I realized an exhausted sigh escaped from my mouth, "why can't you be like Petilil and Turtwig? You can fight Wooper later, right now we're training, you can show Wooper how strong you are in the gym challenge."
While it didn't completely calm her down, it did motivate her, I'll take what I can get. Deciding to move closer towards the mountain I eventually found a quiet spot away from prying eyes that I deemed suitable for training.
Okay Piplup I want you to start running around those rocks while blasting water gun, Petilil I want you to as quickly as you can release stun spore then switch growth to power up during battles. With my orders given they got to it.
Now with that done that just left Skorupi, scanning him with my pokedex I frowned, with him being both a poison and bug type this battle would be tough for him. Looking over his entry in the pokedex I caught something, looking up at Skorupi who tilted his head to the side giving me a confused look since he was the only one who didn't get any tasks.
Squatting down until I reached his level, I held up two fingers in front of him, "I have two questions, first what moves do you know, and how fast can you hide yourself underground?"
Hearing me he turned his attention to a nearby rock, after a few moments he started attacking it, Skorupi showed off bite, leer, poison sting, and pin missile. Once he was done showing me his moves, he got closer to the ground, then started shuffling himself into the ground until the little claws on his head and tail were exposed. The whole process took twelve seconds, on the bright side he could still see and hear his surroundings, on the downside his opponents could easily see him.
Skourpi we are going to practice hit and run tactics, I want you to try to hit me with poison sting while I attack you with water. If I splash you with water that counts as an attack, if you hit me then that counts as an attack.
"Skor?"
"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine", I said while turning into a puddle, then reforming. Just before I started Skorupi's training I had an idea, "Petilil, Piplup"
Calling out the names of my other pokemon I waited for a second, seeing that they were both paying attention I spoke, "while I am training Skorupi I can and will launch surprise attacks at both of you, this will hopefully make you both aware of your surroundings."
"Petilil", "Pip", "Skorupi"
Hearing their confirmation I started the training, with Piplup shooting water gun everywhere, anywhere she aimed she kept making more areas for me to move around. Targeting Skorupi first, from behind him I formed the upper half of my body and prepared a water ball, Skorupi not expecting it the water ball splashed onto his tail.
This pattern kept repeating until the fourth time when Skorupi, not seeing me, swung his tail around himself and took off my hand. That was the first time I changed positions, moving behind Petilil's yellow cloud of stun spore. I could barely make out Skorupi swinging his tail again. Seeing that I made two finger guns, took aim and fired, hearing two surprised screams I knew both Skorupi and Petilil were hit.
I wanted to show my team that they could use their status affecting cloud moves for more than creating an obstacle to stall for time. They could be used to use a buffing move, or launch a hidden projectile.
And that is how our training went. For the next few days, while my team trained their moves and new strategies, I constantly kept ambushing my team, and Piplup only cried once. Time flew by and before we knew it a week had gone by and it was time for our first gym battle in Sinnoh.
