As for Homelander's strength, he was naturally in a league of his own within The Boys universe, far surpassing all other superheroes.
Even someone as powerful as Soldier Boy was no match for Homelander and needed to team up with others just to suppress him.
But to be honest, if he were placed in the Myriad Worlds, Homelander would be nothing more than a little brother.
Even though his abilities were a bootleg version of Superman's, there was simply no comparison between Homelander and Superman.
Zhou Cheng even suspected that if Homelander were dropped into the Marvel Universe, he'd only be able to fight Captain America.
Of course, he could probably hold his own against Iron Man.
In fact, Homelander would likely defeat most of Iron Man's armors.
But when it came to the nano-armor Iron Man used against Thanos on Titan, Zhou Cheng felt Homelander's chances were slim.
And what about the heavy hitters of the Avengers, like Thor and Hulk?
Zhou Cheng didn't think Homelander stood a chance against them at all.
In short, Homelander's strength was really just so-so.
Zhou Cheng merely scoffed inwardly and completely dismissed Homelander from his mind.
He shifted his focus to another question.
*What point in the timeline is the Boys universe currently at?*
*Has A-Train run over Hughie's girlfriend yet? Has the main plot even started?*
With this question lingering in his mind, Zhou Cheng began to wander the Boys universe, feigning casual curiosity.
"Lamplighter has left The Seven, leaving a vacancy. Who will be the next member?"
"Starlight, the Sweet Heat Girl, is a top contender for the new spot in The Seven."
"If you love Starlight, come to her concert and show her your passion!"
It didn't take long for Zhou Cheng to find a rough answer.
Starlight hadn't joined The Seven yet. Instead, she was still working hard to earn her place.
"Let's go see," Zhou Cheng decided, without a moment's hesitation.
*Whoosh!*
After confirming the location, Zhou Cheng focused his mind. In a flash, he soared into the air and vanished from sight.
In the blink of an eye, he reappeared at the concert venue, casually blending into the dense, sweltering crowd.
Looking ahead, he saw a girl in a white, form-fitting uniform on the high stage, singing and dancing her heart out.
She was undeniably talented.
Both her vocals and dancing were top-notch, clearly the result of rigorous training.
Zhou Cheng couldn't help but muse: *Is this a superhero audition or a talent show?*
Then again, the superheroes in this world were different.
Here, they were nothing more than celebrities managed by Vought International.
Aside from their superpowers, they were no different from ordinary entertainers.
Their activities bore no resemblance to the Avengers.
They made movies, signed endorsement deals, and cultivated fanbases. Even their crime-fighting was all for the sake of publicity, always accompanied by a full production crew for live coverage.
Even someone as powerful as Homelander, with no weapon on Earth capable of killing him, still lived a miserable existence.
He could act like a tyrant in front of the lower-level employees, but before the true executives, wasn't he just a lapdog?
*This world is truly bizarre,* Zhou Cheng thought.
"Starlight!"
"Starlight!"
"Starlight!"
The deafening chants thundered in his ears.
Starlight's fans were no different from any other fanatics, waving their arms wildly and screaming at the top of their lungs to show their support.
"She's amazing!"
"This is fucking awesome!"
"She's not even in The Seven yet, but she's already more popular than Deep Sea!"
"And with Queen Maeve being the only woman in The Seven right now, I can't wait to see her join them!"
"I've made up my mind. She's the one. I'm going to report everything I've seen to Ms. Madelyn."
"I'm sure she'll reach the same conclusion I have."
In a corner of the crowd, a professional woman was also staring intently at Starlight on stage, looking beyond excited.
However, her excitement was different from that of Starlight's fans.
Because this woman wasn't a fan—she was an executive from Vought International.
Ashley, assistant to Vice President Madelyn.
She had been conducting market research on the top candidates for the new Seven for a long time, observing both Starlight and the other contenders.
After thorough analysis and consideration, there was little room for doubt.
Starlight had emerged as the clear frontrunner, capturing the intense focus of both Ashley and Vought's upper management. Ashley had already reviewed the data with Madelyn and the marketing department multiple times. Barring any unforeseen accidents, Starlight was guaranteed to take The Lamplighter's place in The Seven.
Her mind made up, Ashley wasted no time. She began tapping furiously on her tablet, recording notes and updates.
"Starlight is a lock," she muttered. "She'll be joining The Seven before you know it."
Zhou Cheng immediately grasped the situation.
The scene around them was chaotic, and Ashley's voice was completely drowned out by the roar of the crowd. No one else could have possibly heard her.
But for Zhou Cheng, that was no obstacle. He had heard her words with perfect clarity.
He instantly reached a conclusion: the main plot of *The Boys* universe hadn't even started yet—or rather, it was only just beginning.
Either Hughie's girlfriend hadn't been turned into a meat paste by A-Train yet, or she had been very recently.
There was little doubt about that.
"Starlight!"
"My Goddess!"
"Starlight!"
Just as these thoughts flashed through his mind, the crowd around Zhou Cheng suddenly went wild, as if they'd all been injected with adrenaline. The roar of the crowd reached a fever pitch, nearly knocking people off their feet and onto the street, just like the lyrics of a song.
On stage, Starlight's performance had reached its climax.
As she sang with all her heart, she also unleashed her power. Not only did her entire body glow with a blinding light, but her eyes shone with the same brilliance, and crackling electricity sparked all around her.
The display showcased Starlight's stunning figure from every angle, like a live-action special effect. It pushed the concert's atmosphere to a whole new peak.
"What a truly unique performance!"
Zhou Cheng watched, thoroughly captivated.
Although Starlight's strength was completely negligible compared to Zhou Cheng, it was still a rare sight to see a performance utilizing superpowers like this.
"Thank you!"
"Thank you, everyone!"
As the song ended, Starlight stood on stage, panting slightly, and bowed to the audience. Her face was alight with excitement.
The concert had been a resounding success, far exceeding her expectations. She had also kept a close eye on her competitors and knew she was currently leading in terms of popularity and buzz. Starlight felt confident about her chances of being selected for The Seven.
"Annie, did you feel the crowd's energy?"
"Did you hear them cheering?"
"Sweetheart, this was as electric as The Seven!"
After the concert, Starlight and her mother drove home. Her mother was so thrilled she could barely speak.
Making her daughter a superstar had always been her lifelong dream.
And now, that dream was closer than ever.
"Sweetie, get some rest. You have another performance tomorrow."
"Keep up the good work!"
"I'm going to make you something delicious."
Back home, Starlight's mother gave her a quick pat and, with a beaming smile, hurried off to get busy in the kitchen.
Starlight, though excited, also felt a hint of exhaustion.
Becoming a member of The Seven was indeed a cause for celebration, and she was happy about it.
But deep down, she wasn't truly passionate about any of this.
She didn't even enjoy the endless, high-intensity training and non-stop performances.
She was only doing it all to fulfill her mother's dream.
Still, the competition among the top candidates for The Seven was nearing its conclusion.
*It's almost over.*
Starlight's mood improved considerably at the thought.
Feeling refreshed, she walked to the vanity, intending to take off her makeup and change her clothes.
*Huh? What's this?*
Suddenly, a black notebook on the vanity caught her eye, drawing her attention.
*A diary?*
*Who left it here?*
Starlight was certain it wasn't hers. She had never kept a diary, nor did she own a black one like this.
*Could my mother have left it here?*
*But that doesn't make sense either.*
Her mother was even less likely to keep a diary, and Starlight didn't recall her ever owning one.
Besides...
"Zhou Cheng's Diary?"
*Who is Zhou Cheng?*
Starlight racked her brain, but she couldn't recall ever hearing the name.
*I've never met anyone named Zhou Cheng in my life!*
As these thoughts flashed through her mind, Starlight had already taken a seat at the vanity.
Almost unconsciously, she picked up the diary.
*Whoosh!*
But at that very moment, the diary immediately projected itself into Starlight's mind.
She instantly sensed something new had appeared in her head.
"What's going on?!"
Starlight was stunned. Her eyes widened as she stared at the diary in her hands with a mixture of shock and suspicion.
*This thing... it actually projected itself into my mind?*
*This is unheard of!*
Not only that, Starlight immediately felt that the other diaries seemed to be speaking to her.
*It can do this too?*
Her curiosity was instantly piqued. She instinctively chose one of the diaries and established a connection.
"Hello, interdimensional netizen. I am Tony Stark!"
A line of text immediately popped up.
*It really works!*
*666!*
Starlight's excitement grew as she tried to communicate with the playboy: "Hello, I'm Annie."
*Annie?*
Tony from Universe 199999 sank into deep thought.
He had never heard that name before.
But based on the diary's usual pattern, this person was undoubtedly a superhero.
The only question was, which universe were they from?
He needed to figure that out first.
"Alright, Annie. I'm Iron Man from Universe 199999. How about you? Do you have a codename?"
"Also, do you know your universe number?"
*Iron Man?*
The nickname alone screamed "superhero."
However, Vought International now had over two hundred superheroes, most of whom were completely obscure. Starlight couldn't possibly know them all.
She'd never heard of this "Iron Man," but she didn't give it much thought.
As for the universe number, she had no idea what to say.
This Iron Man was either an idiot or had a terrifyingly low EQ. What kind of person makes such an awkward, unfunny, and low-brow joke?
*You're the one who contacted me, and you're asking who I am?*
*What a terrible way to make a move.*
"Excuse me, Iron Man. While your approach is certainly... unique, I think you really need to learn how to properly hit on someone before you open your mouth again."
"Also, before we go any further, I need you to explain something. You're the one who left this diary, aren't you? And what's going on with all these things in my head?"
"Is this your power?"
Starlight demanded answers from Tony, her voice laced with certainty.
*It seems this Iron Man is a superhero who specializes in mental abilities.*
"You've got it wrong. I didn't leave the diary."
"You're just another randomly chosen 'lucky winner,' just like me."
"You'll understand in time."
"And if you have any questions, feel free to ask."
Due to the character limit, Tony barely managed a few words before the connection was abruptly severed.
Starlight quickly realized she could no longer communicate with him.
She couldn't help but mutter under her breath, "What a rude guy."
However, even though she could no longer talk to Tony, the diary interface was still there.
