Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Weapon Shop!

My home (HQ) was robbed?

Colonel Hoba, who had been busy capturing pirates at the port, froze when he heard the report.

Standing over two meters tall, wearing a doll mask and a black robe, the voice of this mysterious intruder was unmistakably female.

Aside from these details, there were no further clues about this strange figure.

Who could it be? Hoba couldn't figure it out.

But now wasn't the time for speculation. The pirates in Rogue Town were about to be captured by the Navy.

Hoba needed to return quickly to investigate who had infiltrated the naval base, how they had gotten in, and how they had vanished so mysteriously.

An uneasy feeling gripped his heart—he needed to leave at once.

"Major Lami, I'm leaving this in your hands. I'll head back to deal with the mysterious invasion," Hoba said, passing the responsibility to his deputy.

Major Lami, whom Hoba had brought from headquarters, was not only reliable but also notably attractive. Her capabilities were beyond question.

"Understood, Colonel Hoba!" Lami answered with a sharp salute.

Hoba nodded before quickly heading back to the base with a few marines.

In a different space, Little Nami was eagerly studying the nautical charts she had just obtained from Hoba's office.

"Nami, is something wrong with these charts? You've been staring at them for a while," Lynn asked as he walked up to her.

He noticed that Nami's little hands were trembling.

"Lynn, these are charts of the Grand Line! Do you realize? We could go to the Grand Line one day!" Nami exclaimed, confirming the authenticity of the maps, her excitement palpable.

The Grand Line—a legendary place, the ultimate destination for adventurers!

Nami was practically dancing with joy. Her dream had always been to draw a world map. Now, with the charts of the Grand Line in their hands, she and Lynn could eventually set sail to explore it!

"The Grand Line charts? Hoba really has everything…" Lynn remarked, just as thrilled as Nami. This was a valuable find, and it would certainly help when they eventually sailed to the Grand Line.

But Nami was right to be cautious—just having the charts wasn't enough. The key to navigating the Grand Line would be acquiring the right log pose.

"Hehehe… Alright, Lynn, what should we do next?" Nami asked, grinning ear to ear, still buzzing from the discovery.

Although they hadn't found the Navy's treasure hoard, securing the Grand Line charts made the trip worthwhile.

"Now that the situation outside is settled, how about we buy some gifts for Nojiko and the others?" Lynn suggested.

In Cocoyasi Village, there weren't many goods available, and most merchant ships only brought basic necessities. Things found in Rogue Town would be rare and precious gifts for the people back home.

"Sounds great! I also need to buy some new clothes. I can't stand wearing overalls anymore!" Nami said, glancing down at her worn outfit, which made her feel gloomy.

Life in Cocoyasi Village had been difficult, and Belle-Mère, while kind, hadn't had the resources to provide much. Nami had always been stuck wearing the same overalls since childhood.

But now that she was wealthy, she was determined to buy beautiful clothes.

With their plan set, the two of them exited the alternate space in a secluded area and happily made their way to explore Rogue Town once again.

However, the streets were quieter than usual. The recent Navy purge had put many people on edge, and tourists were keeping their distance, afraid of being mistaken for pirates.

At their young age, Lynn and Nami could easily be mistaken for pirates, and had it not been for their distinctive looks, they might have been captured at the Execution Platform Square.

——

"Boss, do you have any good swords?" Lynn asked as he and Nami entered a weapons store.

"Of course! Welcome, my guests! I have countless renowned swords in stock!" the shopkeeper, Ipponmatsu, greeted them with a wide grin, eager to show off his collection.

Yes, this was the very same shop where Zoro had obtained the Sandai Kitetsu and the cursed sword, Shuei!

The Sandai Kitetsu, a cursed blade, had been carelessly tossed into a barrel of cheap swords by Ipponmatsu. Lynn could easily acquire it if he wished.

But his real interest was in the Yubashiri—a treasured possession of Ipponmatsu, one that the shopkeeper wouldn't part with so easily.

Lynn's eyes sparkled with anticipation as he scanned the display, eager to see what he could find.

Ipponmatsu was certain that the two people standing before him must be wealthy young masters from some prestigious family. If he treated them well, he was sure to make a fortune! With this thought in mind, Ipponmatsu eagerly began showcasing the finest swords in his shop to Lynn.

Meanwhile, Nami, feeling bored, began wandering around the shop, uninterested in the conversation.

After hearing Ipponmatsu's enthusiastic introduction, Lynn remained unsatisfied. The best swords on display were only decent at best—certainly not the quality he was looking for.

"Hey! Boss, these swords are terrible! Not only are there no good greatswords, but even the sharpest blades here aren't up to par!" Lynn said, pretending to be annoyed as he glared at Ipponmatsu.

"Haha, my dear guest, those are the best swords I have in stock. I really don't have anything better!" Ipponmatsu said, wiping the sweat from his forehead.

He could tell that Lynn wasn't a pure swordsman, so he wasn't going to reveal his prized sword, the Yubashiri. He had hoped to sell it to a true swordsman who could fully appreciate it. But from the look of things, Lynn wasn't that kind of person.

Lynn continued staring at Ipponmatsu, waiting for him to make a move. After a long pause, Ipponmatsu remained firm.

"Fine. I won't make it difficult for you," Lynn said with a shrug. After all, he wasn't a swordsman—he was just looking for a good, sharp, and functional sword.

If the opportunity arose, he would have someone help him forge a blade of his own, maybe something like the Meitou grade swords, or even a legendary sword like Yoru.

"I truly appreciate your understanding, sir," Ipponmatsu said, breathing a sigh of relief after hearing Lynn's decision.

But then, Lynn did something that shocked him.

Lynn casually walked over to the wooden barrel filled with cheap swords and pulled out one with a red scabbard.

Lynn examined the Sandai Kitetsu in his hand, a slight smile forming on his lips.

"My dear guest, that sword is not for sale! It's dangerous!" Ipponmatsu said urgently, his expression turning frantic.

Lynn simply ignored his warning, inspecting the sword. The blade was razor-sharp, and the eerie purple pattern on it gave off a sinister vibe.

"The Sandai Kitetsu is a fine, sharp sword of the 50th rank. Boss, I'll take this one. Nami, hand me 50,000 berries!" Lynn said without hesitation.

"Huh? You've made your choice already?" Nami asked, pulling open her backpack.

She quickly counted out 50,000 berries and handed them to Lynn without question.

"Stupid... idiot! I won't sell it!" Ipponmatsu yelled, panic rising in his voice.

"This is a cursed sword! If you die from it, it'll be like I killed you!" Ipponmatsu continued, visibly distressed.

Despite his concerns, Lynn remained calm. He examined the Kitetsu more closely, his smile still in place.

"I like this one. This is the one I want," Lynn said with determination, tossing 50,000 berries onto the counter.

Under Ipponmatsu's increasingly frustrated gaze, Lynn grabbed Nami's hand and led her out of the weapon shop.

Lynn didn't need to use force to take the sword, because he didn't consider himself a villain. He had his own principles: I won't offend others unless they offend me. But if someone does, I'll destroy them!

As they walked away, he silently made this resolve.
