Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Betrayal at Hypers Academy

Hypers Academy, a prestigious school for magical and martial arts training, stood proudly in the heart of the mystical Elvendom Forest. Its architecture was a striking mix of modern and ancient styles—silver spires that gleamed in the sunlight, stone towers etched with magical runes, and wide courtyards alive with the hum of students practicing spells and combat.

The grand courtyard bustled with energy. Students of all ages displayed their magical abilities or sparred in duels, while groups of friends laughed and shared stories. The sun cast a warm glow, and fluffy clouds drifted lazily across the sky, painting a scene of ordinary academy life.

"Ivandoe Horntail," a voice called from the staircase, cutting through the chatter.

A fifteen-year-old boy with bright blue hair and piercing eyes made his way across the courtyard. His black-and-silver uniform shimmered faintly with magical runes. A worn leather-bound book hung at his side, and a sword rested against his hip. His gaze was focused, his determination evident in every step.

At the top of the grand staircase stood Professor Orion, the academy's headmaster. A kind-looking man in his fifties, with a long white beard and eyes that seemed to pierce through to one's soul. His ceremonial robes shimmered with golden embroidery.

"Students," he began, his voice steady, yet heavy with unease. "I have troubling news… Hypers Academy is facing financial difficulties. And as a result, a decision has been made—one that may shock you all."

A murmur ran through the courtyard. Students exchanged nervous glances, unsure of what could be worse than failing classes or losing privileges.

Professor Orion's expression hardened. His eyes glinted with something darker than disappointment. "A select group of students… including Ivandoe Horntail… have been sold to the highest bidder… to serve as slaves."

Gasps, screams, and cries erupted across the courtyard. Students stumbled backward, unable to process the betrayal.

Ivandoe froze, his hand gripping the hilt of his sword. "What?!" he shouted. "You can't do this! We're students! Not… not slaves!"

Before anyone could react further, heavily armored guards moved through the crowd. Their red-eyed helmets glowed ominously, and they wasted no time. Students were restrained and dragged toward waiting carriages.

Ivandoe struggled against his bonds, fury and disbelief mixing into a storm inside him. I won't go down without a fight. I'll escape. And I'll make them pay.

The carriage jolted as it began its journey. Darkness swallowed Ivandoe and the other students, the sound of creaking wood and metal chains echoing around them. Shadows pressed against the windows like silent witnesses to their plight.

Across from him sat a girl with blue-black hair and sharp, black eyes. Around her neck was a strange, glowing device. She met Ivandoe's gaze, her expression unreadable but firm.

"I'm Ivandoe," he said cautiously, trying to ease the tension.

"I'm Narissa Vandel," she replied, her voice steady despite the fear around them. Her eyes flicked to the device on her neck.

"Those things…" Ivandoe gestured to the devices.

"They're Imuzers," Narissa said, her words sharp. "They block our magic. Whoever put these on us… they don't want us to fight back."

Ivandoe's stomach tightened. Not only are we being sold… we're being stripped of our power too.

As the carriage rumbled deeper into the night, he found himself glancing at Narissa more often. There was something in her resolve, something that mirrored his own fire to survive. She wasn't just a fellow captive—she could be an ally. Maybe even a friend.

The forest outside grew darker, the trees looming like silent sentinels over the carriage. But despite the fear and uncertainty, Ivandoe felt a spark of hope. They were not alone. With Narissa at his side, perhaps escape was possible. Perhaps a new destiny awaited them beyond the shadows of betrayal.

Just as the carriage rattled over a hidden root, Ivandoe's eyes caught a flicker of movement outside the window—a shadow, unlike any tree or bush. A cold whisper of dread ran down his spine. He gripped Narissa's hand instinctively. We're not alone. The night was far from over…
