Feyd, ready for combat, looked down infront of the door to the next freight, slightly puzzled.
He noticed a few bottles of booze, and some vomit.
He felt as though something else should've there too! No... Three things.
But he soon shook his head, dismissing his needless thoughts.
Although him and Ray didn't say anything about their powers, they still told Ragnar and his people to let them handle the beginning offense.
Both him and Ray still had roughly half their energy left, enough for two freights if used sparingly.
It took a lot of convincing for Ragnar to finally let them both attack alone.
They reassured him, saying it would be a piece of cake.
"Are you guys sure about this?"
Ragnar was still apprehensive.
"Yea yea, just trust us"
Feyd let out a slight snicker, anticipating Ragnar's reaction to their powers.
Both Feyd and Ray opened the door and got ready to enter, meeting each others gaze for a moment before nodding their heads.
The inside of the freight was similar to how Ragnar had described it. There were people guarding the freight, but not many.
Their bags and weapons were in a corner on top of some crates, which presumably also contained weapons.
"Hey! Who are you two?"
Ragnar mentioned that there was no gunpowder or explosives in this room. They were all kept with the vice captain for protection.
Ray had already started spreading his shadows throughout the freight covertly.
"Hey I'm talking to you two!"
Feyd looked up at them, before giving an apologetic smile.
"Sorry, didn't hear you"
As he brought both his arms out.
"What are you doing?"
"Don't they seen kinda... strange?"
"Aren't they the people vice captain caught!?"
Embers swirled around Feyd's hands as a large grin plastered itself on his face.
The embers turned into flames as they spun around his hands.
Before they could even reach a burst of flames launched at them!
"Blast Burn!"
Feyd roared as his flames devoured the bandits closest to him.
The fire spread out in a cone shaped blast, pushing the bandits while burning them to a crisp!
Ray used the shadows generated by the fire's light to attack the bandits further back with shadow spikes!
He instantly pierced the hearts, head, throat or lungs of his targets.
The victims soon started screaming their hearts outs. Their blood curdling screeches, threatening to tear their vocal cord, terrified the bandits and the tribesmen.
The tribesmen could only wonder what the light coming from the freight over was, or what Ray and Feyd could have done to make those bandits scream like that.
Only Ragnar, who as right next to the door, could see the spectacle that was their attack.
The bandits who were blasted by flames, but didn't die immediately, dove towards the floor, attempting to escape that fearful fire!
"H–Help... Me–!"
A bandit reached his hands out to his friends, only to see the burning or impaled bodies of bandits.
The pain from his burns proved to be too much as his vision soon turned dark.
As the flames dwindled away and the shadow spikes dissipated, only half a dozen or so bandits remained.
Both Feyd and Ray launched themselves at them, fists reeled back and strength coiling around them.
The bandits, scared out of their wits, immediately began to panick.
Some tried to run screaming but realized that the door was too far away. Some raised their pistols to shoot but misses terribly, their hands trembling.
Only one bandit, although terrified, gathered his resolve as he charged Ray with a machete in hand.
He decided that Feyd must've been stronger since he was the one that shot flames out of his hand, and that Ray was only his side kick. How wrong was he.
The bandit ran forward slashing his machete in a horizontal attack, with a slight semblance of technique.
Immediately Ray's advance came to a screeching halt as he dodged the attack by a hair's breadth.
His eyes shone with perfect calm. The bandit shivered slightly, even in the sweltering aftermath of the flames, as though his entire being was being seen through.
Ray dashed forward again as the bandit scrambled back, slashing again.
This time Ray continued forward, weaving past the blade as landed a mean uppercut straight at the bandit's chin.
"Kuk!"
The bandit recoiled in pain as he steadied himself, bringing his blade up. Ray continued his advance, a steady glint in his eyes.
Meanwhile Feyd was rushing at the other bandits, jumping past obstacles, burnt crates and bodies.
He strafed left and right dodging the bullets coming at him.
Honestly their shaking hands and crumbling spririt made it pretty easy. All he needed to do was look at where they were aiming and whether their fingers could actually press the trigger in time.
He noticed them somehow miss the trigger a few times. As he flew past Ray and his opponent he thought that fighting that one bandit seemed more fun.
Dodging the bullets was honestly harder because of their terrible aim. He couldn't tell if the bullet would somehow veer off-course or not!
A few stray bullets managed to scrape past him, one even penetrating his shoulder and another one going through his thigh.
"Let us go! Please!"
"Dont come near!"
"Nooo!!!"
He gave a brutally kneed the first bandit, before grabbing the second one and slamming him towards the third.
He then crouched down, sweeping his leg as a fourth bandit who had tried to slice him with a sneak attack tripped on Feyd's foot, falling to the floor.
Ray stole his blade and lifted the bandit up, blocking more bullets.
"Kuhuk!"
The man coughed up blood as he was thrown towards the final two bandits.
They both moved away, not troubling themselves to catch their soon to die friend.
Feyd entered the line of sight of one of the bandits, who was completely taken by surprise.
Feyd had used the body he had thrown was cover to block their view and block bullets!
A single slash and the bandit fell, blood bursting from his throat.
A gunshot range out as a bullet pierced his left arm.
Feyd grimaced slightly as he rushed the bandit who has shot him.
A series of clicking sounds came from the bandits gun. The bandit pressed on the trigger multiple more times as if that would magically form more bullets.
As he noticed Feyd dash at him he threw his gun before turning around to flee.
Feyd brought his left hand out, catching the gun as he brought his blade down onto the bandit, striking through the bandit's head.
Feyd turned back to see Feyd finishing off a second bandit, the one he was fighting sprawled on the floor behind of him.
"Was he strong?"
"Not really, I just didn't want to get hurt"
Ray looked him up and down.
"Guess you didn't care enough to play safe. Couldve atleast used the bodies as cover whle charging in at first"
"Hehe they'll heal after a night's rest! It's fine. Also I forgot about that in the heat of the moment while charging them hee"
Feyd laughed as he scratched his head.
Ray looked back at the bandit he had first fought.
"He would've been stronger if he just kept calm. I would've had to use my powers in that case"
Fyed then signaled Ragnar and the others to come back in as Ray searched for their stuff.
"Come in guys! The fight's over"
Ragnar slowly opened the door, his eyes widening at the carnage.
Burnt walls and roof, bodies sliced, impaled and burnt to a crisp, and bandits who still wore a terrified expression.
"Did you–.... No that's a stupid question! Are you guys... M-Manipulators!?"
Feyd and Ray both nodded simultaneously as they put on their equipment.
A few kids who squeezed through had eyes that sparkled.
"Whooahhh! So cool!"
"I wish I was this powerful!"
"If I had this power... I could've burned the box!"
Feyd raised an eyebrow at the words of the last kid, but soon left it go, thinking of it as some inside joke between those kids.
Feyd told the excited tribesmen to equip themselves, since Ray already notified him that people from the next freight were coming.
"How much more juice ya got left in ya?"
Feyd asks Ray.
"Hmm... Maybe enough for two more attacks? Depends on what I'll have to do"
Feyd then nods.
"I only have one attack left. I'll have to use it to start the attack in the next freight so just leave one charge as a precaution"
"Alright"
Ray nodded.
Soon the others put on some armour and grabbed some weapons.
Feyd and Ray had also stuffed their bags full of extra weapons and armour.
"Would love to stuff it with money but they had basically nothing on them!"
Ray hissed with an aggrieved expression.
There were already attempts from the bandits in the next freight to break in, but the door was blocked by multiple heavy boxes and crates.
Ragnar looked back at his people, before briefing them on the attack plan.
"Alright. Ray will push two boxes that fill the doorway through the door, pushing the people back and giving us a clear angle to attack
Feyd will then blast them with fire, but after that he said he will have no more energy to use his powers again, and so the rest is for us!
It's time to fight people! Charge!"
"Charge!"
Soon the people shouted out in unison, clearly eager to fight.
The non-combatants and children were made to stay back, since their presence would not help during the fight, maybe even being a hindrance.
Raganr than nodded at Feyd and Ray, as Ray walked towards the objects that were blocking the door.
A wave of psychic energy flowed out of his mind and started applying force to the two boxes infront of him.
The door had already been removed by the bandits in an attempt to get through to the other side.
Ray then brought his arms to the boxes and pushed forward, supplementing the force his telekinetic powers produced.
"What's happening!?"
"They're tribe to push through! Quick push back!"
"Ugghhh!"
The bandits on the other side then also pushed back, attempting to cancel out the force.
A slight pressure came unto Ray's mind from using his powers.
The boxes soon stopped halfway.
Noticing that Ray was struggling to push further, Feyd and Ragnar both came forth to help.
Feyd narrowed his eyes as he applied force with focus while Ragnar made a grunting sound before his muscles exploded with power.
The three were enough to push the bandits back, clearing the way.
Ragnar and Ray then pushed the boxes, shoving them away as they both ducked down.
Ray felt a strong headache come through from the use of his psychic powers, causing his nose to bleed.
A quick volley of bullets from pre-aimed guns fired towards them, but at the same time the flames that Feyd had collected, condensed and reinforced filled the freight as Feyd executed a Blast Burn.
The bullets mostly missed but a few managed to hit Ragnar and Ray while Feyd was entirely missed by all the bullets.
A cacophony of screams came from the freight as the three moved to give way to the tribesmen who charged inside to fight.
According to the calculations made by Ragnar there should be more tribesmen who were fighting than the bandits in the freight, but reinforcements could arrive any moment.
Ray and Feyd both fought but chose to conserve their energy since it seemed they wouldn't need to do much.
Although they tried to be safe since they had another freight of bandits to fight they still sustained injuries.
When the battle ended only about half the tribesmen were left alive, the rest dead.
Ray chose to save his powers for the next freight as an opening move to give them a better chance, since the bandits there would've most likely prepared an attack after all this commotion.
He brought his hand up to his head as the headache grew stronger, though his nose no longer bled.
'Eribos... That bitch'
