Chapter 465 - SS-Rank Dish - Sweet Dream Beverage

Chapter 465:

May 7th.

Kaede's second day back home.

Having been away for just two days made virtually no impact on the Breeding House. Given his usual low-key, reclusive operation, outsiders didn't even realize Kaede had been away these past few days.

The Breeding House was still running as usual.

The two-day trip to Alola was over, and the matters there were resolved. He originally thought he'd have some free time coming up, but the visit to the Tree of Beginning and what he received from Mew and the Tree itself made him pause and contemplate again.

The Rainbow Feather, the Lunar Feather, the fragment of Xerneas's antler, Rayquaza's Dragon Scale, and so on.

Among them, the Rainbow Feather probably wasn't very useful right now.

Xerneas's antler primarily made life energy abundant.

None of these seemed pressing to use at the moment.

That left the Lunar Feather, the fragment of Xerneas's antler, and the Dragon Scale.

With this in mind, Kaede took out these three items.

First, the Lunar Feather and the previously prepared water infused with the nightmare energy from the Darkrai-imbued stone.

Cresselia, the Psychic-type, and Darkrai, the Dark-type. The collision between the Lunar Feather and nightmare energy... to be honest, Kaede was also curious about what these two would produce when combined.

There wasn't much to ponder about what to make with this.

Because in his Breeding House, leaving aside Dark-types, even his Psychic-type Pokémon like Gardevoir and the Indeedee siblings didn't have any particular need for it.

Now, the Indeedee siblings, with the passage of time, were already Pokémon in their forties level-wise!

Using Psychic abilities just for household chores was simply a breeze.

He simply ground the Lunar Feather into powder and added it to the nightmare-infused water.

But it seemed only a tiny amount of Lunar Feather powder was needed to neutralize the nightmare energy within the water.

Of course, this wasn't exactly a dish yet, more of an ingredient base. After the Lunar Feather powder neutralized the nightmare energy, the entire liquid took on the iridescent hue of the Lunar Feather. Moreover, the water transformed from a liquid to a fluid, gelatinous state, feeling somewhat sticky.

This change surprised Kaede.

But soon, he realized what this fluid resembled.

Honey... syrup...

But it was white.

If it solidified, it would probably feel like coconut jelly.

Holding this thought, Kaede placed this experimental cup in the refrigerator. After letting it sit for about ten minutes, he took it out again.

Sure enough, as expected, the mixture had turned into a cool, jelly-like substance.

Using Psychic, he lifted the jelly-like mass out, cut it into small cubes, then took some juice made by Steenee from the upper fridge shelf, added the cubes, gave it a gentle shake, and waited about a minute. That should do it.

Kaede opened his [Eye of Exploration].

[SS-Grade Dish — Sweet Dream Beverage. A beverage made with sweet juice, but special ingredients have been added, giving it unique effects.

Dish Effect 1: Dream Weaver. After drinking, the consumer can construct any desired scenario within a dream.

Dish Effect 2: Nightmare Entanglement. When consumed by a Psychic-type Pokémon, damage dealt to sleeping Pokémon increases by 30%.

Dish Effect 3: Dream Recovery. When consumed by a Dark-type Pokémon, energy recovery rate and growth speed within dreams increase by 25%.

Dish Effect 4: Sound Sleep. While asleep, the user can briefly perceive events in the external world. Using Sleep Talk allows the use of a desired move.]

Four dish effects.

It had to be said, this time the sweet juice contributed almost no effect. Instead, the main dish effects all came from the ingredients provided by the nightmare and dream deities.

The first effect, Dream Weaver, was somewhat like the previous Dream Spinach dish, but the difference was that the Dream Spinach dish allowed the *maker* to construct the dream, while this one allowed the *consumer* to construct the dream. That was quite different.

As for Dish Effect 2...

It was exclusive to Psychic-type Pokémon, probably from Cresselia's influence. The effect was pretty good.

Then the third and fourth effects.

The fourth effect was too situational, so Kaede ignored it for now. But the third dish effect was interesting.

Dark-type Pokémon, after eating this, have their energy recovery rate and growth speed within dreams increased by 25%?

The former was okay, but the latter made Kaede feel it was a bit outrageous.

Allowing Dark-type Pokémon to increase their energy growth speed by 25% just by sleeping?

Getting stronger while asleep?

Hmm, a perk for the lazy.

Even so, Kaede currently didn't have any Dark-type Pokémon to test this on.

"Let all the Psychic-types try some, and... the others can have some if they want."

The quantity wasn't enough for every Pokémon to have a cup. He could only wait for that nightmare-infused stone to slowly steep in more water.

With the Lunar Feather handled, next were the remaining Dragon Scale and the fragment of Xerneas's antler.

These two things...

Kaede first took out the Dragon Scale.

Dragon-type Pokémon? His Breeding House had three. Although Dragonite and Salamence already had their exclusive Lugia dish, and Salamence had already gotten its revenge and was now sleeping all day, that didn't preclude adding a Rayquaza one.

But soon, a problem arose when handling Rayquaza's Dragon Scale. It was... too hard!

Even though it had shed from its body and had undergone the passage of ages, it... was still too hard. The sharp blades of the Berry Blender couldn't grind it at all; instead, the blades chipped and flew everywhere.

It was only due to Kaede's own sturdy physique, along with his Aura and Psychic abilities, that he was okay. An ordinary person would have been in trouble here.

After cleaning up the mess in the kitchen,

Looking at the scale larger than his fist, Kaede tried bending it with force. Finding it completely immovable, he fell into thought.

This was a problem he hadn't considered.

What kind of existence was Rayquaza?

After Mega Evolving, it was a Legendary Pokémon capable of beating up two Primal Reverted ancient deities.

Moreover, the black Rayquaza had achieved the incredible feat of 1 versus 7.

The scales on its body were naturally extremely hard, and this was... a Reverse Dragon Scale...

Reportedly the hardest of its scales...

So, what should he make with it?
