Chapter 23 - Chapter: The Men in Black

The city had become quiet again after Christmas.

People returned to work.

Children went back to school.

The bright lights slowly disappeared

from the streets.

Life returned to normal.

But somewhere deep inside the

Government Security Center.

Nothing was normal.

Alexander's face was displayed on a

giant screen.

Many men and women stared at it.

One officer spoke.

"We still have no information about

him."

Another officer shook his head.

"No name."

"No family."

"No records."

"It is as if he appeared from nowhere."

A man wearing a black suit stood up.

"Then we watch him."

"No one gets close."

"No one attacks."

"We observe everything."

Everyone agreed.

The next morning.

Alexander left the house as usual.

Aiona smiled at him.

"Don't forget to bring my favorite juice."

Alexander nodded.

"I won't."

He quietly walked through the busy streets.

Far behind him.

A black car slowly followed.

Inside were four agents.

They never took their eyes off him.

"He just keeps walking."

"He doesn't even look suspicious."

Alexander entered the Giant Arcade.

The agents quickly followed.

Inside, the place was full of people.

Children laughed.

Teenagers competed against each other.

Bright lights flashed everywhere.

Alexander walked to his favorite machine.

It was one of the hardest games in the

building.

Many people had tried.

Almost nobody had won.

He inserted one coin.

Less than a minute later.

The machine announced a perfect score.

The workers froze.

"Again?"

Alexander quietly collected his prize.

He walked to another game.

Another perfect score.

Then another.

And another.

One worker sighed.

"He's here again."

Another shook his head.

"There goes today's prize money."

The agents looked at each other.

"Is he cheating?"

One worker overheard them.

He laughed.

"We've checked every machine."

"He's just that good."

Alexander calmly collected his money.

He bought a bottle of juice.

A few snacks.

Then carefully folded the rest of the

money and placed it in his pocket.

One agent frowned.

"That's all he bought?"

Another nodded.

"He could have taken much more."

"But he didn't."

That evening.

The agents watched Alexander return

home.

Aiona opened the door with a smile.

"You remembered my juice."

Alexander handed it to her.

"You asked me to."

She smiled happily.

The agents watched through a small

camera from a nearby building.

After all technology has highly

advanced due to the fact that they were

far into the future.

"They really live like ordinary people."

Back at the Security Center.

The report was placed before the

politicians.

One man slammed his hand on the

table.

"We should arrest him now."

Another quickly disagreed.

"Are you crazy?"

"If the reports are true, one mistake

could destroy this city."

An older politician slowly stood up.

His hair was completely white.

His voice was calm.

"A person with that kind of power does

not hide without a reason."

"If we attack first."

"We may become the enemy."

The room became silent.

Finally.

The chairman spoke.

"Continue watching him."

"Do not make contact."

"Do not provoke him."

"Not yet."

Outside the house.

Night quietly covered the city.

Alexander stood alone in the small

garden.

The cold wind blew across the empty

street.

Without turning around, he spoke.

"You've been following me all day."

The shadows became silent.

A few seconds later.

One of the black-suited agents slowly

stepped out.

His heart was beating fast.

"You knew?"

Alexander calmly looked at him.

"I knew from the moment you left the

Security Center."

The agent's face turned pale.

"Then."

"Why didn't you run?"

Alexander looked up at the night sky.

"You never gave me a reason to."

The agent could not say a word.

For the first time in his life.

He felt completely powerless.

Far away.

Someone watched everything from the

roof of a tall building.

A gentle smile appeared on the

stranger's face.

"So."

"The world has finally noticed him."

The stranger turned around and

disappeared into the darkness.

The game.

Had finally begun.
