Using my God Speed ability, my body blurred into a streak of motion as I raced through the snowy forest at inhuman velocity. Trees and snow blurred past me in seconds. In less than a minute, I had covered the entire distance and burst back into the fortress, breathing only slightly heavier than normal.
I entered the warm room and found Diana and Angela sitting together near the fire. Angela was quietly sorting some supplies, while Diana immediately stood up when she saw me.
"Where did you go?" Diana asked, her voice sharp with worry and annoyance. "You just disappeared without saying anything and left me alone here!"
"I… Nothing… I just—" I started, trying to find the words.
Diana walked straight up to me, her eyes narrowing. She leaned in close and took a deep sniff of my fur coat and neck. Her nose instantly wrinkled in disgust.
