Corvus blinked. "Wait—what? Seriously?"
Ghost Corvus nodded gravely. "It's a strict rule. The Rune has to sync with the land you've been granted. That connection finalizes the Lordship. Without it, the power decays."
Corvus rubbed the back of his neck. "So I have to go in soon."
"Yes," Ghost Corvus said simply. "But you don't need to rush in headfirst. Every new Lord gets a ten-day invincibility barrier. No one can invade your territory—not even a Tier 12 Lord."
Corvus arched a brow. "Well… that's reassuring."
"It is," Ghost Corvus agreed. "So we can take our time checking everything out."
Corvus stood up, stretching slightly. His hair was still a mess, and he was wearing an old black t-shirt and a pair of loose grey pajamas.
Ghost Corvus chuckled. "Maybe… change into something less sleepwear?"
Corvus smirked and nodded. A moment later, he returned wearing a clean white shirt and black joggers—simple, but neat.
"Alright," Corvus said, glancing at his ethereal companion. "Let's go see what kind of mess this Mystic Rune has dropped me into."
Ghost Corvus grinned, floating beside him. "Let's hope it's a good kind of mess."
Corvus nodded and extended his hand. The Mystic Rune glowed on the back of his palm, and with a thought, a faint shimmer formed before him—slowly solidifying into a large, rune-etched portal.
"Let's go," Corvus said, stepping through.
As he emerged on the other side, his foot sank slightly into warm, golden sand. He looked around, blinking in surprise. Before him stretched an expansive coastline—half of his granted territory was a sandy beach, while the other half… was open sea.
"This is bad," Ghost Corvus muttered, floating beside him with a frown.
"Bad?" Corvus echoed, scanning the peaceful horizon.
"Yeah," Ghost Corvus sighed. "Sea-side territories tend to come with a lot more disadvantages. Fewer resources. Higher instability. More unpredictable threats. But it's all random, so…"
"So I just have garbage-tier luck," Corvus said, his tone flat.
Ghost Corvus shrugged, giving him a sympathetic look. "Seems that way."
Corvus turned to look inland. The territory was modest in size—just as promised for a Tier 0 Lord. Three buildings had manifested.
The Lord Manor stood to the left. It was a single-story wooden structure—plain and a bit weathered, almost like a seaside cabin.
The Trade Hall mirrored the manor's simplicity. Also wooden, it lacked any flashy design or imposing aura.
But the third structure, the Summoning Gate, stood out.
It was a large stone archway with intricate runes carved into its surface, glowing faintly in pulses of blue and silver light. Despite its weathered texture, it gave off a feeling of ancient power—like something that didn't belong in such a humble place.
Before Corvus could inspect further, the door to the Lord Manor creaked open. Two figures stepped out.
Both were women, both clearly human, and both… beautiful.
One had long, silky black hair and a calm, collected air about her.
The other was blonde, with sharp, confident eyes and a more assertive bearing.
They approached quickly, then dropped to one knee before Corvus in perfect sync.
"Welcome, my Lord," they said in unison.
"I am Amelia," said the blonde.
"I am Selia," added the black-haired girl.
"We are your assigned attendants," they both concluded.
Corvus blinked, surprised. "Two? I thought Lords only got one maid or butler to start."
Ghost Corvus floated in with a curious look. "Usually, yeah. But looks like you hit a rare roll. Or maybe your rune glitched—either way, this is not common."
Corvus eyed the two of them closely. They did look different in hair and expression… but something about them felt oddly similar.
"Are you two… twins?" he asked.
Both women smiled softly. Selia nodded. "Yes, Lord Corvus. We are sisters—though our personalities differ."
Corvus tilted his head and mumbled to himself, "Maybe they're twins… and I ended up with both of them?"
It wasn't unheard of. Every newly ascended Lord received one initial servant—either a capable maid or a butler—as their First Subject. Unlike other units, who required trust-building and loyalty progression, First Subjects were bound by an initial loyalty contract and would remain steadfast—unless the Lord did something truly unacceptable.
And yet… here he stood, with two stunning maids kneeling before him.
"Here, my Lord," they said in unison, each holding something out.
Selia presented a Blessed Fate Summoning Stone and a Random Trade opening Stone, both glowing faintly beautiful lights.
Amelia presented the same.
Corvus blinked, then looked between the two items in confusion.
"Wait… why do I get double?" he asked aloud.
All Lords only received one of each. The Random Trade opening Stone decided a what kind of Trade you can get fro free, depending entirely on luck. Basically its an gacha roll, just unlike Summoning gate from here you can get naything from summoning stones to equipments.
The Blessed Fate Summoning Stone would summon their first advanced Subject—again, bound to fate and chance.
But he had two of each.
Even Ghost Corvus floated closer, expression confused. "I've never read anything about this in the Records. Normally you only get one of each. No exceptions."
"Maybe it's because I have two talents," Corvus speculated, his brow furrowed.
Ghost Corvus suddenly looked at him as if he is seeing him for the first time, " you have two talents!?"
"yes," Corvus nodded as he can only think of these double rewards thanks to his dual talents.
Meanwhile, the two maids glanced at the floating spirit behind their master. Amelia leaned slightly closer, whispering with curious eyes, "My Lord… who is that? Is he a spirit?"
Corvus chuckled and gave a half-nod. "Yeah, something like that. He's part of my talent—my Ghost Clone or something."
Amelia's eyes lit with interest, but Selia remained composed, her gaze analyzing Ghost Corvus carefully. "I see. So your talent gives you a spectral companion… fascinating."
Corvus nodded as he and his ghostly companion stood outside the Lord's Manor. Ghost Corvus floated beside him, arms crossed as he asked, "So, what's your second talent?"
"It's called Fusion," Corvus replied simply.
"Fusion?" Ghost Corvus raised an ethereal brow. "What does it do exactly?"
Corvus looked at him replying. "It allows me to combine two items, abilities, or units into one… and the result is usually something stronger, rarer—or just plain better."
Ghost Corvus blinked. "That sounds insanely powerful."
