Chapter 36 - The Agents

Ayaan and Anshuman returned home and immediately installed Adventure of Secret Agents.

The game launched without any problems.

A black screen appeared.

Then a message.

Welcome, Agents.

Initializing...

Loading World...

Synchronization Complete.

A bright light filled their vision.

Everything went white.

Ayaan slowly opened his eyes.

He was lying on a bed.

The room looked completely normal.

There were no futuristic machines or strange devices.

Just an ordinary apartment room.

A few moments later, Anshuman opened his eyes in the room next door.

"What kind of game is this?"

The two met in the living room.

The apartment looked simple and realistic.

Anshuman opened the curtains.

Sunlight entered the room.

Outside, the city looked peaceful.

People walked through the streets.

Cars passed by.

The weather was cool and pleasant.

"This doesn't look like a secret agent game."

Ayaan nodded.

"Not yet."

The two left the apartment building and stepped onto the sidewalk.

The city felt incredibly realistic.

As they walked, Ayaan placed his hands inside his pockets.

Something was there.

"A card."

Anshuman checked his pocket as well.

He had one too.

The cards were black with silver writing.

Both contained the same message.

Agent Candidate

Report to: West District, Building 47

Time: Immediately

Failure to attend may result in disqualification.

Below the message was an address.

Anshuman smiled.

"Looks like our first mission."

"Or our first test."

Without wasting time, the two began heading toward the location.

After nearly thirty minutes of walking, they arrived.

A large office building stood before them.

The structure looked ordinary from the outside.

But as they approached the entrance, they noticed something strange.

Nobody else seemed to acknowledge the building.

People simply walked past it.

As if it didn't exist.

Anshuman looked up.

"That's suspicious."

Ayaan pushed open the door.

"Let's find out."

The two entered.

The moment they stepped inside—

The doors behind them locked automatically.

CLICK.

The lobby lights suddenly turned on.

And a voice echoed through the building.

Welcome, Agent Candidates.

Both immediately stopped walking.

The game had finally begun.

The voice faded.

A few moments later, a man walked out from a nearby hallway.

He was dressed in a black suit and wore black gloves.

His face was partially hidden by shadows.

The man stopped in front of Ayaan and Anshuman.

"Welcome."

Neither spoke.

The man continued.

"You are now agent candidates."

He pressed a button on a small device.

A screen lit up behind him.

"From this point forward, you will have access to everything inside this building."

Anshuman raised an eyebrow.

"Everything?"

"Training facilities, equipment rooms, briefing halls, records, vehicles, and living quarters."

The man then looked at Ayaan.

"Your agent number will be 007."

Ayaan nodded.

The man turned toward Anshuman.

"And your agent number will be 001."

Anshuman grinned.

"Nice."

The man ignored the comment.

"Your purpose is simple."

The screen changed.

Mission System Activated

"You will receive missions from me."

"Complete them successfully and your authority will increase."

"Fail them and your progress will suffer."

The screen disappeared.

The man spread his arms slightly.

"For now, you are free."

He looked around the building.

"You may explore this entire facility."

Anshuman immediately became interested.

"How big is this place?"

The man smiled slightly.

"Much larger than it appears."

He then handed each of them a black card.

Agent Access Card

007 — Ayaan

001 — Anshuman

"These cards grant access to most areas."

The man turned and began walking away.

Then he stopped.

"Oh, one more thing."

The two looked at him.

"The apartment you arrived in belongs exclusively to you."

"No other agents can enter without permission."

Anshuman nodded.

"Good."

"Use it however you wish."

After saying that, the man disappeared down the hallway.

The building became quiet.

For a few seconds, neither moved.

Then Anshuman looked around.

"So..."

Ayaan glanced at the numerous hallways extending in every direction.

A large map was displayed on a nearby screen.

Facility Map

Training Hall

Combat Arena

Vehicle Garage

Weapon Simulation Room

Mission Center

Research Wing

Gym

Cafeteria

Agent Lounge

Archives

Anshuman's eyes widened.

"Okay."

He pointed at the map.

"This place is huge."

Ayaan looked toward the deeper parts of the facility.

"It seems we're really secret agents now."

Anshuman smiled.

"Then let's see what this game has to offer."

The two began walking deeper into the mysterious facility, unaware that their first mission would arrive much sooner than expected.

A few hours later, Ayaan and Anshuman were exploring the facility when both of their watches vibrated.

BEEP!

A red notification appeared.

FIRST MISSION ASSIGNED

Target: Unknown Criminal Leader

Location: Luxury Cruise Ship Ocean Crown

Objective:

Board the cruise ship as passengers.

Remain on board for 3–4 days.

Gather intelligence on the target.

Identify accomplices.

Arrest the target.

Reward: 500,000 Credits

Mission Difficulty: B

Anshuman grinned.

"Our first mission."

Ayaan read the details carefully.

"Information gathering comes first."

Suddenly another message appeared.

WARNING

The target's appearance is unknown.

The target may be using a fake identity.

Anshuman's smile disappeared.

"That makes things harder."

Ayaan nodded.

"We'll have to investigate everyone."

They immediately headed to the Mission Center.

The mysterious man in the black suit was waiting for them.

"I see you've received your first assignment."

He handed them two passports and cruise tickets.

"Your cover identities have already been prepared."

Anshuman looked at his.

Name: Daniel Ross

Occupation: Student

Ayaan checked his.

Name: Ethan Walker

Occupation: Student

"Remember," the man said, "you are not agents during this mission."

"You are ordinary passengers."

Ayaan nodded.

"And if we are discovered?"

The man smiled.

"Try not to be."

The next day, they arrived at the harbor.

The cruise ship was enormous.

The words OCEAN CROWN were painted across its side.

Thousands of passengers were boarding.

Luxury restaurants, swimming pools, theaters, and casinos filled the ship.

Anshuman whistled.

"This doesn't look like a mission."

"It does if a criminal is hiding here."

The two boarded the ship.

As soon as they stepped onto the deck, their watches vibrated again.

New Information

Three suspects have been identified.

Suspect A Businessman

Suspect B Retired Military Officer

Suspect C Celebrity Investor

Collect evidence before taking action.

Anshuman sighed.

"Three suspects already."

Ayaan looked around the crowded ship.

Hundreds of people were walking around.

Any one of them could be connected to the target.

As the ship's horn sounded and the Ocean Crown began leaving the harbor, neither of them noticed a woman wearing sunglasses watching them from the upper deck.

She touched an earpiece.

"They've boarded."

A voice replied.

"Understood."

The woman continued watching Ayaan and Anshuman as the cruise ship disappeared into the horizon.

The mission had officially begun.

Ayaan and Anshuman returned to their cabin.

The room was surprisingly luxurious.

A large window overlooked the ocean.

After placing their luggage down, they opened the mission files on their watches.

The photos of the three suspects appeared.

Suspect A

Businessman

Suspect B

Retired Military Officer

Suspect C

Celebrity Investor

Anshuman studied the pictures.

"So where do we start?"

"The celebrity investor."

"Why him?"

"He attracts attention. That makes him easier to observe."

Anshuman nodded.

The two left their cabin and headed toward the upper deck where many passengers were gathered.

After some searching, they found the celebrity investor.

He was surrounded by people asking questions and taking photos.

As they watched from a distance, Ayaan noticed something.

A particular man kept appearing near the investor.

Sometimes he stood by a railing.

Sometimes near a staircase.

Sometimes near a restaurant entrance.

Yet he never seemed far away.

Ayaan narrowed his eyes.

"I have an idea."

Before he could explain, Anshuman pointed.

"Why is that guy roaming around the celebrity investor so often?"

Ayaan looked again.

The man's behavior was unusual.

He never directly approached the investor.

But he was always close enough to react.

"They're smart."

Anshuman smiled.

"Let's test something."

Nearby, a child accidentally lost a balloon.

Anshuman quickly grabbed another balloon from a decoration stand and popped it.

POP!

The sound wasn't very loud.

But it was enough.

Instantly, the mysterious man's hand moved toward his back pocket.

His reaction was automatic.

Fast.

Trained.

The movement lasted less than a second before he stopped himself.

But Ayaan had already seen it.

"So that's it."

Anshuman looked at him.

"You figured it out?"

Ayaan nodded.

"He's not a criminal."

"What is he then?"

"A bodyguard?"

Ayaan shook his head.

"No."

His eyes remained fixed on the man.

"An undercover police officer."

Anshuman blinked.

"What?"

"The hand movement gave it away."

The officer had instinctively reached toward where a concealed weapon would likely be.

Not the reaction of an ordinary passenger.

Not even the reaction of a regular bodyguard.

Ayaan continued watching.

"And he's protecting the celebrity investor."

Anshuman smiled.

"So Suspect C is already under police protection."

"Which means the authorities are either suspicious of him..."

Ayaan paused.

"...or they believe he's a potential target."

The situation had just become more complicated.

As the two continued observing, the undercover officer suddenly glanced in their direction.

For a brief moment, his eyes met Ayaan's.

Neither looked away.

The officer's expression remained calm.

But Ayaan could tell.

The man had noticed them as well.

The investigation was becoming a game of observation between professionals.

Ayaan and Anshuman continued walking through the cruise ship.

"We need something that will solve the case," Ayaan said.

"Instead of watching suspects all day?"

"Exactly."

After thinking for a while, they headed toward one of the ship's restricted sections.

According to the ship map, the main signal room was located there.

If someone was coordinating criminal activity on the ship, communications would be important.

As they approached the corridor leading to the area, they suddenly stopped.

Standing ahead were the undercover officer they had noticed earlier and another man dressed as a crew member.

The two men blocked their path.

The officer spoke first.

"Identification."

Anshuman smiled.

"Just passengers."

"Identification."

The second man stepped forward.

Ayaan and Anshuman showed their cruise IDs.

The two men carefully examined them.

Neither seemed convinced.

The officer narrowed his eyes.

"You've been observing the investor."

Anshuman shrugged.

"We were curious."

The second man exchanged a glance with the officer.

Then he pointed toward a nearby room.

"Let's talk in private."

Ayaan immediately became cautious.

But refusing would only create more suspicion.

The four entered the room.

The door closed behind them.

Click.

For a brief moment, silence filled the room.

Then—

The crewman suddenly lunged at Ayaan.

At the same time, the officer moved toward Anshuman from behind.

Both attacks were fast and unexpected.

But Ayaan and Anshuman reacted instantly.

Ayaan sidestepped, causing the crewman to miss completely.

Meanwhile, Anshuman spun around and blocked the officer's arm.

The room erupted into motion.

"Not bad," the officer said.

Ayaan frowned.

"If you're police, this is a strange way to interrogate people."

The officer smiled slightly.

"Good."

"What?"

"We wanted to confirm something."

The crewman stepped back.

Neither man attacked again.

The officer folded his arms.

"Ordinary passengers couldn't have reacted that quickly."

The room became quiet.

Anshuman realized what had happened.

"This was a test."

"Correct."

The officer looked directly at Ayaan.

"Now tell us who you really are."

For the first time since boarding the ship, Ayaan and Anshuman found themselves under investigation as well.

Anshuman felt a chill run down his spine.

"Did we get busted already?"

The undercover officer and the crewman continued staring at them.

The room was silent.

Then Ayaan spoke calmly.

"What if we tell the cruise master who you really are?"

The officer's expression changed slightly.

Ayaan continued.

"And tell all the passengers that there are undercover officers operating on this ship."

The crewman's eyes narrowed.

"In many situations, police officers aren't supposed to reveal themselves during an active operation."

Ayaan crossed his arms.

"If your cover gets exposed, your mission fails."

The room became quiet again.

Anshuman immediately understood what Ayaan was doing.

The officer looked at Ayaan for several seconds.

Then he smiled.

"You noticed."

"You weren't exactly subtle."

The crewman sighed.

"He's smarter than he looks."

Anshuman grinned.

"That's what I've been saying."

The officer pulled out a badge for a brief moment before putting it away.

"Fine."

The tension in the room disappeared.

Neither side seemed interested in continuing the confrontation.

The officer walked toward a table.

"Let's start over."

Ayaan and Anshuman remained standing.

The officer looked at them.

"We've been tracking a criminal organization for months."

"The target is on this ship?"

"Most likely."

Anshuman frowned.

"Most likely?"

The crewman answered.

"We know someone from the organization boarded the ship."

"We don't know who."

The officer pointed toward the photos of the three suspects.

"And we don't know if any of these people are the actual target."

Ayaan looked at the pictures.

"So you're investigating them too."

"Yes."

Anshuman laughed.

"Looks like we're doing the same mission."

The officer ignored the comment.

Then suddenly a loud alarm sounded somewhere on the ship.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!

Everyone looked toward the door.

A notification appeared on a monitor.

SECURITY ALERT

Unauthorized access detected in the ship's communication network.

The officer's expression immediately became serious.

The crewman grabbed a radio.

"Someone is inside the signal system."

Ayaan and Anshuman exchanged looks.

The signal room.

The exact place they had been heading toward.

The officer rushed toward the door.

"Move."

The four quickly left the room and headed deeper into the restricted section.

Meanwhile, somewhere else on the ship, a hooded figure sat in front of a computer terminal.

Lines of data flashed across the screen.

The figure smiled.

And pressed ENTER.

The real operation had just begun.

The security teams searched the entire cruise ship.

Every corridor.

Every cabin.

Every storage area.

Nothing.

Hours passed without a single clue.

The undercover officer became increasingly frustrated.

"How can someone access the communication network and leave no trace?"

Nobody had an answer.

Ayaan stood quietly, observing the ship's layout.

Then something caught his attention.

Near the lower maintenance deck was an old metal door.

Unlike the others, it looked abandoned.

Ayaan pointed at it.

"What's that room?"

One of the ship's crew members looked over.

"That?"

"Yes."

"It's been locked for several months."

Ayaan frowned.

"No one uses it?"

The crewman shook his head.

"No one enters it."

The officer immediately became interested.

"Why not?"

"It was marked for renovation, but the work never started."

Ayaan stepped closer to the door.

Then he looked at the officer.

"Break it."

The officer hesitated for a moment.

Then nodded.

Two security members stepped forward.

BANG!

The first hit dented the lock.

BANG!

The second strike shattered it.

The metal door swung open.

Immediately—

FSSSSHHHH!

Thick smoke burst out of the room.

The entire corridor disappeared into a gray cloud.

"Smoke!"

"Everyone back!"

Nobody could see anything.

The officer covered his mouth.

Security members rushed forward.

Then—

"Someone's moving!"

Several shadows emerged from the smoke.

Before anyone could react, the figures sprinted away.

By the time security reached the outside deck—

The criminals had already jumped onto jet skis hidden beside the ship.

VROOOOM!

The engines roared to life.

The jet skis sped across the ocean.

"They're escaping!"

The officer cursed.

"We don't have time to prepare a pursuit team!"

Ayaan immediately ran toward another docked jet ski.

Anshuman followed.

"What are you doing?"

"Catching them."

Without hesitation, both jumped onto a jet ski.

The officer shouted from behind.

"Wait!"

But it was too late.

VROOOOM!

The engine roared.

The jet ski shot forward across the water.

Ocean spray exploded behind them.

Ahead, three escaping jet skis raced toward the horizon.

Anshuman grinned.

"Now this feels like a secret-agent mission."

Ayaan focused on the fleeing criminals.

The distance between them was slowly closing.

Far ahead, one of the criminals looked back.

Then spoke into a radio.

"They're following us."

A voice replied.

"Bring them to Point Seven."

The criminal smiled.

"Understood."

The chase continued across the open sea.

Neither Ayaan nor Anshuman realized they were being lured directly into a trap.

The chase continued for nearly twenty minutes.

The criminals never tried to fight back.

They simply kept moving toward a specific location.

Ayaan noticed it immediately.

"They're leading us somewhere."

Anshuman tightened his grip on the handlebars.

"I know."

Ahead of them, a small rocky island came into view.

The criminals headed straight toward it.

A message suddenly appeared on Ayaan's watch.

LOCATION REACHED

Point 7

The three jet skis slowed down near the shore.

The criminals jumped off and ran inland.

Ayaan and Anshuman followed.

The island was strangely quiet.

No animals.

No boats.

Nothing.

Only rocks and abandoned buildings.

Anshuman looked around.

"This place feels creepy."

The two carefully moved deeper into the island.

Then they reached an open area.

The three criminals were standing there.

But they weren't alone.

Suddenly—

People began appearing from every direction.

Behind rocks.

Inside buildings.

From the trees.

From hidden tunnels.

One after another.

All dressed in black clothing.

All wearing masks.

Within seconds, Ayaan and Anshuman were completely surrounded.

Anshuman counted quickly.

"Twenty..."

Then more appeared.

"Thirty..."

Then even more.

The number kept increasing.

The leader of the masked group stepped forward.

He slowly clapped.

"Impressive."

The criminals from the cruise ship moved behind him.

The leader looked at Ayaan and Anshuman.

"You followed our agents all the way here."

Anshuman smiled.

"Thanks."

The leader ignored the joke.

Then he raised his hand.

The masked people tightened the circle around them.

"You both are finished."

The wind blew across the island.

Neither Ayaan nor Anshuman moved.

The leader frowned.

"You don't seem scared."

Ayaan calmly looked around.

There were enemies everywhere.

No easy escape route.

No backup.

No communication signal.

A perfect trap.

Then Ayaan spoke.

"You're celebrating too early."

The leader laughed.

"And why is that?"

Ayaan pointed toward the sky.

Everyone looked up.

In the distance, several helicopters were approaching.

The leader's smile vanished.

Anshuman grinned.

"You really thought we came here without leaving clues?"

The sound of helicopter blades grew louder.

The island was about to become a battlefield.

The helicopters were still far away.

The masked men looked nervous.

Their leader looked toward the sky and immediately understood what was happening.

But before anyone could react, Ayaan's watch vibrated.

BEEP!

Anshuman's watch vibrated as well.

A new mission update appeared.

PRIORITY OBJECTIVE

Target Identified

Capture the Organization Leader Alive

Bring him directly to Command

Do NOT allow local authorities to take custody.

Mission Failure Condition: Target arrested by police.

Ayaan's eyes narrowed.

Anshuman read the message twice.

"If the police capture him first..."

"Our mission fails."

The two looked at each other.

The helicopters were getting closer every second.

The leader noticed their expressions.

Then he smiled.

"So that's it."

He slowly stepped backward.

"You need me alive."

Anshuman frowned.

The leader suddenly raised his hand.

"Finish them."

The masked agents immediately began advancing.

Meanwhile, the leader turned around.

A hidden steel door opened behind him.

Beyond it was a large underground facility built into the island.

The leader looked back one last time.

"You'll never reach me."

Then he entered the base.

The steel door began closing.

CLANG!

Ayaan immediately moved.

"The target is escaping."

Anshuman nodded.

"We'll handle the guards."

"No."

Ayaan pointed toward the closing entrance.

"We both go."

The circle of masked agents tightened.

The helicopters were now visible overhead.

Police reinforcements would arrive soon.

If that happened, the target would either escape or be captured by the authorities.

Both outcomes meant failure.

One of the masked agents charged.

Anshuman dodged and pushed him aside.

Ayaan created an opening.

The two sprinted toward the steel entrance.

Behind them, dozens of agents began chasing.

The door was almost closed.

Five meters.

Three meters.

One meter.

At the very last second, Ayaan and Anshuman slid through the gap.

BOOM!

The steel door slammed shut behind them.

The noise echoed throughout the underground base.

For a moment, silence returned.

The two stood up.

Red emergency lights illuminated a long corridor ahead.

Somewhere deep inside the facility, the organization leader was escaping.

And now, Ayaan and Anshuman were trapped inside the enemy's headquarters with him.

Outside the underground base, the battle had already begun.

Police officers rushed onto the island from the helicopters.

The masked men fought back fiercely.

Gunfire echoed across the island.

Smoke filled the air.

Meanwhile, deep inside the underground facility, Ayaan and Anshuman moved through the corridors.

Red emergency lights flashed overhead.

The entire base felt like a maze.

Anshuman looked around.

"This place is huge."

Ayaan nodded.

"Which means he planned this for a long time."

The two continued forward until they entered a massive central chamber.

Several floors surrounded the room.

Metal walkways connected different sections of the base.

Then they saw him.

The organization leader.

He was standing on the first-floor walkway above them.

Looking down.

A smile appeared on his face.

"So you made it this far."

Anshuman crossed his arms.

"We're not leaving without you."

The man laughed.

"You don't understand."

He spread his arms.

"This base is mine."

His voice echoed through the chamber.

"Now you are in my world."

Ayaan looked around casually.

Then he replied,

"This?"

The leader frowned.

Ayaan pointed around the room.

"This is just a base."

The smile disappeared from the leader's face.

"The world is way bigger than this."

The room became silent.

The leader's expression darkened.

For the first time, he looked genuinely angry.

"You little..."

Suddenly—

He jumped from the first-floor walkway.

BOOM!

He landed heavily on the ground below.

The floor cracked beneath his feet.

Anshuman's eyes widened.

"That's not normal."

The leader charged forward.

His speed was much greater than before.

WHOOSH!

His fist flew toward Ayaan.

Ayaan barely stepped aside.

The punch smashed into a steel support beam.

CRASH!

The metal bent from the impact.

Anshuman immediately attacked from the side.

The leader blocked and pushed him backward.

The force sent Anshuman sliding several meters.

The leader grinned.

"You think you're agents?"

He rushed them again.

"Then survive this!"

The chamber erupted into chaos.

Above them, alarms continued flashing.

Outside, the battle between the police and the masked organization raged on.

But deep underground, Ayaan and Anshuman had found their true target.

And he was far stronger than either of them expected.

The leader stopped for a moment.

Anshuman suddenly raised his hand dramatically.

"WAIT!"

The leader frowned.

"What?"

Anshuman pointed forward.

"Or I will shoot you!"

The entire room became silent.

The leader froze.

Even Ayaan looked surprised.

"You have a gun?"

Anshuman glanced at him.

"We are agents, bro."

Ayaan blinked.

"Fair point."

The leader took a cautious step backward.

For a few seconds, nobody moved.

Then Anshuman confidently reached for his weapon.

He checked his belt.

Nothing.

He checked the other side.

Nothing.

He checked his jacket.

Nothing.

The confidence slowly disappeared from his face.

"..."

Ayaan stared at him.

"..."

Anshuman checked again.

Still nothing.

The leader raised an eyebrow.

"Where is your gun?"

Anshuman smiled awkwardly.

"Good question."

The room became completely silent.

Then—

The leader started laughing.

"Hahahahaha!"

His laughter echoed through the chamber.

He pointed at Anshuman.

"You don't even have a weapon!"

Anshuman looked at Ayaan.

Ayaan sighed.

"We are done."

The leader laughed even harder.

"Hahahaha! You threatened me with an imaginary gun!"

Anshuman scratched the back of his head.

"I was pretty sure agents got guns."

"We've been agents for three days."

"Oh."

The leader wiped tears from his eyes.

"I can't believe this."

For the first time since entering the base, the dangerous criminal was laughing so hard he could barely stand.

Ayaan looked at Anshuman.

"This is your fault."

"Technically it's the agency's fault."

"How?"

"They never gave us guns."

The leader continued laughing.

Unfortunately for him, while he was distracted—

Ayaan quietly picked up a loose metal pipe from the floor.

Anshuman noticed.

Ayaan slowly pointed at the laughing leader.

Anshuman immediately understood.

A grin appeared on his face.

The criminal had stopped being cautious.

And that was usually when Ayaan became dangerous.

The leader was still laughing.

"Hahahaha! An imaginary gun—"

WHACK!

Ayaan swung the metal pipe with all his strength.

The pipe smashed directly into the side of the man's head.

For a brief moment, silence filled the chamber.

Then—

CRRRRK!

The metal pipe bent completely out of shape.

Ayaan looked at the pipe.

Then at the man.

Then back at the pipe.

The leader hadn't moved an inch.

The only thing damaged was the pipe.

The chamber became very quiet.

The leader slowly turned his head toward Ayaan.

His smile had vanished.

Ayaan calmly dropped the bent pipe.

It clattered onto the floor.

CLANG.

The leader stared at him.

Ayaan stared back.

Several seconds passed.

Then Anshuman took one step backward.

"Yeah..."

Another step.

"We are dead now."

The leader's eye twitched.

"You hit me."

Ayaan nodded.

"Yes."

"With a pipe."

"Yes."

The leader clenched his fists.

The muscles in his arms tightened.

"You hit me while I was laughing."

Ayaan thought for a second.

"Also yes."

The floor beneath the man's feet cracked.

Anshuman immediately started backing away faster.

"Bro, apologize."

"I'm not apologizing."

"APOLOGIZE."

The leader suddenly roared and charged.

"YOU TWO ARE FINISHED!"

BOOOOM!

He lunged forward with frightening speed.

Ayaan and Anshuman instantly turned around.

And ran.

"RETREAT!"

"THAT'S NOT A RETREAT, THAT'S RUNNING!"

"IT'S A TACTICAL RETREAT!"

The leader chased them through the underground base while emergency lights flashed around them.

Outside, police and masked agents were still battling.

Inside, however, the situation had become much simpler.

One extremely angry criminal leader.

Two agents with no guns.

And absolutely no plan.

The leader continued chasing them through the underground base.

"STOP RUNNING!"

"NO!"

Anshuman sprinted down a corridor.

The leader was right behind him.

"WHY IS HE SO FAST?!"

Meanwhile, Ayaan quickly searched the nearby storage rooms.

Tools.

Boxes.

Equipment.

Nothing useful.

Then he noticed something mounted on a wall.

High-Voltage Shock Gun

Warning: Authorized Personnel Only

Ayaan smiled.

"Perfect."

He grabbed it and immediately climbed a maintenance staircase leading to an upper walkway.

Below him, Anshuman was still running for his life.

"AYAAN!"

"What?"

"ARE YOU ASKING FOR MY DEATH BY LEAVING ME ALONE?!"

"Keep him busy."

"THAT IS NOT A PLAN!"

The leader lunged toward Anshuman.

Anshuman barely dodged.

"You little—"

The moment the leader passed underneath the walkway—

Ayaan jumped down.

ZAP!

The shock gun connected directly with the man's neck.

Electricity surged through his body.

The leader froze.

His eyes widened.

Then—

THUD.

He collapsed onto the floor unconscious.

Silence.

Anshuman stopped running and stared.

Ayaan looked at the shock gun.

"That worked."

Anshuman fell onto the floor.

"I almost died."

"You say that every mission."

"Because I almost die every mission."

A short while later, the two carried the unconscious leader through the underground base.

The battle outside had mostly ended.

Police officers were securing the area.

However, their mission instructions were clear.

The target had to be delivered directly to the mysterious man who had assigned the mission.

After reaching a nearby extraction point, they found a helicopter waiting.

The pilot looked at the captured leader.

"Get in."

The three boarded.

The helicopter lifted into the air.

As they flew over the ocean, Anshuman looked out the window.

Then he suddenly froze.

"Wait."

Ayaan looked at him.

"What?"

Anshuman pointed toward the controls.

"I don't know how to ride a helicopter."

Ayaan blinked.

"Nobody asked you to."

Anshuman crossed his arms.

"But what if I had to?"

Ayaan stared at him.

"So how would you fly it?"

Anshuman thought for a moment.

Then confidently answered,

"Luck."

The pilot nearly choked.

Ayaan covered his face.

"That's not how helicopters work."

Anshuman shrugged.
