Day 16: Dawn – The Vault Aftermath
Scene 1: Vault Interior – Smoldering Ruins
[The vault is a wreck: shattered racks, scorched floors, flickering Spirit Weapons. Smoke curls around Zeru, standing unsteadily over the fallen infiltrator. His wings flicker — flames sputtering, galaxy sparks fading.]
Zeru (panting hard, voice shaky): "I… I don't know if it worked… but… it's finally over."
[The infiltrator dissolves into shadow ash. Zeru's knees buckle, his vision blurring.]
Zeru (weakly): "Too much… mana… gone…"
[He collapses to the ground, unconscious, as the last of the Nova flames burn out.]
Scene 2: Golden Crest Arrives
[Rei, Daiki, Tama, and Nara rush inside, still bruised from their own battles outside.]
Rei (shocked): "Zeru! He's down—!"
Daiki (kneeling by him, clenching fists): "Damn it… he pushed too far."
Nara (touching Zeru's faint glow): "His mana flow… it's almost empty. I've never felt anyone burn this much energy."
Tama (quietly): "He fought until he couldn't stand anymore…"
Scene 3: Outside the Vault – Emergency Response
[The squad carries Zeru out. Healing squads rush in, Spirit Masters arriving with glowing staffs.]
Lysia (arriving, eyes narrowing at the destroyed Vault): "He awakened something dangerous tonight."
Spirit Master Iro: "Nova Arts… a fusion of two creation magics. That's supposed to be impossible."
Lysia (looking at unconscious Zeru): "Impossible or not… it nearly cost him his life."
Scene 4: The Enemy Watches
[Far away, a cloaked figure watches the battle's aftermath through a swirling shadow portal.]
Mysterious Voice: "So the boy has touched the edge of the Nova… but he collapses after one use. Fragile flame. Flickering star."
[The portal closes, leaving the night silent.]
Scene 5: Squad Vow
[Golden Crest sits around Zeru's bed in the infirmary later that night. His body glows faintly from residual flames and starlight.]
Rei (softly, clenching her hands): "He nearly burned himself out… for us."
Daiki (serious, looking at Zeru's sleeping face): "If he's carrying this kind of power, then it's on us to make sure he doesn't fight alone."
Nara (nodding): "Next time, we stand together."
Tama (whispering): "Golden Crest… we won't let him fall again."
Scene 6: Closing Panel
[Zeru sleeps deeply, phoenix feathers and star fragments faintly glowing around him. Outside the Academy window, the first light of dawn breaks across the sky.]
