When Kelly appeared again, she suddenly found herself… sitting.
She turned her head around, tense and confused.
People sat down leisurely around tables, talking among themselves while eating meals or dining silently all alone, the sound of cutlery hitting ceramic plates resounding continuously.
The smell of delicious food wafted through the air as waiters moved between tables, taking orders or delivering meals.
Above the doorpost was a sleek, metallic sign which read Fledges Restaurant. The entire place was lit up in mesmerizing, comfortable lights, giving it an ambient atmosphere.
In fact, it was the sort of place that looked perfect to go on a date with someone.
But…
Sitting in front of her at the other side of the table was a gorgeous young man, his hair the color of winter and eyes like red-hot glass.
He raised his fork to eat from the sizzling steak on the table, his lips curled as his eyes regarded her with something dangerously close to amusement.
