The feeling of being watched from the shadows suddenly returned—
Jiang Xinli instinctively leaned into Bai Yao's arms. "A Yao, can we go back?"
Mutant Beasts weren't scary, but the thought of those grotesque, deformed Deep Sea Mutant Beasts with human limbs made her skin crawl.
It was as if the limbs had been cleanly severed, tossed into the ocean to rot and bloat into a pale-white state, then crudely stuck onto their bodies.
It was both horrifying and nauseating.
"Don't be afraid, Little Li." Bai Yao calmly looked up, his jade-green eyes scanning their surroundings.
His long, snow-white hair stirred, though there was no wind.
Strands of it drifted down, carrying the crisp scent of fresh snow, which helped calm Jiang Xinli down a bit.
A faint black mist gradually crept over the azure surface of the sea.
The wind around them suddenly died.
"They're here." After observing, Bai Yao had a good idea of what was happening.
