President Warren happened to be coming downstairs and saw Lily Shaw's stunned expression. A trace of doubt flashed through his mind; he reached out and patted her shoulder. "Lily? Do you have something urgent you need to take care of? If you're busy, go handle your stuff first. We can have this meal another time."
Lily Shaw turned around and saw it was President Warren. She shook her phone and said, "Nothing urgent. It's not every day I get to eat on the big boss's dime—how could a little employee like me give that up?"
Seeing that she was still as straightforward as ever, President Warren was genuinely pleased. "Then this big spender is taking you out for a feast today. Oh, and my wife will be joining us too, you don't mind, right?"
He was only asking out of politeness; in fact, he knew Lily Shaw wouldn't mind.
