Before Luis even had a chance to open his mouth and speak, the nursing aunt had already cheerfully and briskly accepted the money. She said in a scolding, affectionate tone, "Why do you family members act like such distant strangers with each other. Set your mind at ease. I will write down a record for every cent that gets spent, and whatever money is left over I will return back to you all."
"Family member of the patient, is this your wife?"
The nurse came by during her rounds and asked a question right away.
Serena's face instantly flushed bright red. She had just been about to explain, but then Luis asked directly, "Nurse sister, is there any particular situation going on?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary, everything is perfectly normal. The surgery will be scheduled within these two days."
