I returned to the same ruins a few days later, this time, during the day.
The bright sunlight over the rubble made the entire scenery beautiful.
I discovered something recently, after my dealings with the lewerts.
I looked around, but instead of trying to find manuals sprawled across the floors I foucused my attention more one fact that there could be hidden secret passeages.
The truth is, I didn't want to explore the area with their bunch. The trio from last night, not because it was dangerous, but if I died, it would spoil mysterious persona.
I searched and searched, and finally I found a slight crack on one of the tiles of the massive ruin.
I tried to pry it open, but it didn't budge.
*Shit*
After hours of struggle, the 100+ year old tile lid was finally lifted.
I climbed down the stairs and this time I saw a eerie narrow corridor that stretched into darkness.
As I treaded It's path I thought about about how many mysteries I've come across in past few months Frist miss beyfong murder case, then lewerts robbery now I'm exploring a hidden ruin unknown to the world, if I perished down here nobody would give a damn.
I laughed at the thought, that would give a damn even if I died in front of them, after all I don't have anyone, who cares about me here?, I can be lax with my life, no one is forcing me, nor are they looking for me.
The feeling felt hollow. But what can I do, even I don't know what's wrong with me.
I reached a point and in front of me was a massive throne room and in it's center was a massive mirror-like pillar that reflected my figure back at me.
A massive alter was in the center, stationed in front of the mirror, and a book laid on top it.
"What is this?".
I glanced at my reflexion for a bit.
Curiosity took over.
I move to touch it's surface.
In the moment my figure grinned at me and massive tentacles grew out of it's face, it looked like monster told in horror stories .
My heart jumped and I pulled out my gun at the beast, the monster kept staring, as I waiting for an opportunity to attack.
I felt liquid slid down my cheek.
It was blood.
My blood.
"Wait what.?"
At the monster grinned.
"What?, is the bastard still able to affect me from all the way there?"
That was surprising. I immediately took my eyes the figure.
My eyes hurt bad.
After a while of recollection I decided to look around.
I couldn't just give up because I've got an eye injury.
On the shelf were notes, most of them crumbled to dust the moment my hand touched them.
I browsed through the archive, looking for a least one intact book.
My hand touched something that hadn't crumbled over time.
"Finally" I almost thought this would be a fruitless endevor. I have to get my hands on as much information as I can. Maybe by doing that, I'll be able to become, stronger and finally catch that beyfong bitch.
In order for a book to crumble, it would have to age over 500 years... was this family wiped out before the second heavenly war?.
I opened the page, and it was written in a language I don't understand, symbols littered across it's pages.
But I noticed a pattern, why wouldn't I, I've been seeing symbols like this since my incident with miss beyfong.
"This is chaos Orign law..."
The same one that keeps pestering me.
After browsing for a while, I found two more books that were still intact, but they were all written in Chaos Orign law.
*If only I knew this...* I was disheartened.
I looked at the center of the room without looking directly into the mirror.
Is that mirror a relic?.
I walked towards the mirror once more and touched the book in front of me.
"Hey mate..." my voice echoed back at me.
I let go of the book at lighting speed
*What the hell just happened?, am I imagining things?*
"No, you are infact, not imagining things, I'm speaking to you"
I almost glaced at the mirror, but managed to keep my head down.
*Wait a minute, did the mirror talk.*
"Yes I did..."
"And what?" My eyes widened.
"How did it read my mind?."
"Wh-Who are you."
The mirror chuckled.
"Sacred, don't worry I only eat women"
I don't know if it was trying to reassure me or not.
"Unhhh ook?"
What exactly was I supposed to say to a spirit that was born in the unseen realm?, dose it even have humor?.
"You seem like a smart kid, I have a proposal..."
I slowly grabbed the book in front of it and backed away slowly.
"I can tell your here for knowledge. How about I give you some wisdom for a small price"
"No thanks...I'm good"
Of all the horror stories I've read, it all starts going down hill the moment the main character trusts an unknown entity.
He's tapped inside a mirror, yet just gazing at him made me almost lose my sight. I should get out of here before manages to influence my mind.
I immediately turned to the stair and planned to leave, maybe I'll come back one day but for now it's not safe.
At least I have more books and that's enough.
"Wait!!!"
The entity called to me.
"Huh... what?"
Calm down, don't you think you're judging me too fast mate.
"What business would have I have to do with an evil spirt trapped in the bottom of a mystic arts family archive?... "Sound pretty fishy to me."
Apparently not everyone has a brain.
"You might think i was trapped in here becauseni caused evil, but you're worng, I was imprisoned unjustly." The spirit cried out.
"What?.. " I almost chuckled.
"I've not seen a single soul for years, if you let me go I'll do anything."
"Do you you know where the path to the unseen realm is?."
The spirt paused.
"There no such thing here."
I raised a brow.
"Oh...?"
"A passage like that can only be found in the head beach of a mystic arts family. " it spoke.
With my back turned on the spirt, I scoffed.
"Then there nothing to discuss..."
I began walking.
"Wait..?"
"What is it now...?"
"What if I gave you an ancient treasure, that would be enough to spark your interest."
The spirt sounded desperate.
"And how'd you do that?."
"You think you've search every nuk and cranny of this place, but I know a secret compartment only a Valgrador can exploit."
"Valgrador?, is that the mystic arts family that once owned this structure."
"What do you mean once owned?" The spirit seemed confused.
I smirked.
"They were all wiped out before the third heavenly war.." I stated with a light shrug.
"What?" The spirit couldn't seem to comprehend.
I shook my head
"Sigh,.. just how long were you trapped in here"
My eyes narrowed,
"Your dialect sounded odd, you aren't from the era after the third heavenly war were you?.
"What are talking about?, what third heavenly war?"
I chuckled.
"You know of the second heavenly war?." I have to at least give him an estimate on how long he's been here, he clearly doesn't know anything about the outside world.
The spirt seemed to be thinking.
"The second heavenly war was on the brink of break out at any moment."
"Oh, so you've been trapped down her fore more than..."
I thought for a moment.
"...600 years."
I calculated.
Then silence.
"What?..." I glanced at the spirt, this time I saw my reflection sitting in dispair.
"It changed back?."
The silence loomed for a while.
"Just how long was the second heavenly war?".
"I heard it lasted about 50 years..." I answered.
"Oh, I see..." it paused.
"What year are we?".
"Were in m the 1890s".
The spirit chukled bitterly.
"I must get out of here".
*You've already said that buddy, sorry but conviction ain't gon break tou free from your prison*
"Even if it means I give up half my power"
"Huh..?"
At this moment the entire structure shook violently.
The space split apart, cracks ran through the entire structure sending me into a state of shock, I had to get out of here
"Young man where do you think you're going" the spirt turned to looked at me, more menacing than ever, its face was made of shadows with numerous eyes glaring at me with killing intent.
"What'd I do to you?.. be mad at the person who imprisoned you here not me"
I bolted.
What in the fucking world have I gotten myself into.
