Chapter 14 - Thunder Doesn’t Ask Permission. It Strikes.”

⚡ The Last Disciple of Lightning Peak

"

Aarush stepped deeper into the forest, his senses stretched thin beneath the canopies of ancient trees swaying in ghostly silence. With him were three boys — strangers a moment ago, but companions now bound by trial.

The tallest among them was Varan, calm-eyed and quiet, a steady gait in his steps. The short one with restless energy, always first to speak, was Teji, and the lean, sharp-featured one who kept glancing at the sky was Rivan.

> "I heard something," Teji whispered, pausing as a distant roar echoed like a warning from deeper within. "You hear that? Something's already fighting... maybe someone came before us."

> "Hmph," Varan scoffed. "Does it matter? This is the Forbidden Trial Ground. Beast or man, everything here wants to test your blood."

Aarush said nothing. His steps were steady, his expression unreadable, eyes sharp as storm-forged blades.

---

Amid their silence, a patch of shimmering spiritual grass caught Teji's eye. Without hesitation, he rushed toward it.

> "Wait—!" Rivan hissed, but too late.

With a snap of wind and surge of spiritual pressure, the ground pulsed — a lightning-web trap surged up from the soil. A radiant Wave-Spider Beast, its body shimmering with brindle hues and long, curved fangs, leapt forth.

> "Aah! Help! I can't move!" Teji's voice cracked in panic.

The three rushed forward. Aarush's mind, sharp as ever, processed the battlefield in seconds.

> His recklessness trapped us… but this isn't the time to blame.

He slashed through the air, releasing his first technique:

⚡ Lightning Arc Slash!

His sword sparked as streaks of blue lightning burst from the edge, cleaving through the silken web. Rivan and Varan flanked him.

The spider screeched, its limbs skittering across the grass as it formed a glowing sigil between its legs — a Lightning Veil Cocoon, blocking Aarush's next few attacks.

> Aarush narrowed his eyes. "Interesting."

He shifted his stance and drew his sword back. Blue sparks surged up his blade as he whispered:

⚡ Thunder Fang Form – First Style: Storm Draw!

The force tore forward like a wolf's howl. The spider shrieked and stumbled. Behind it, a low-pitched chitter echoed — a call.

> "It's summoning something!" Rivan shouted.

---

As they tried to free Teji, he clutched his belt.

> "Take my family dagger—"

> "No time for pride," Varan snapped, slapping his forehead. "You'll die before you inherit anything! Hand it over!"

Suddenly — a tremor.

From behind the trees, another beast appeared — twice the size of the first. Its malevolent eight eyes glowed with thunderous blue, and thick larvae-like poison sacs oozed from its mouth.

> It was the Male Thunderweb Spider, a mid-tier spirit beast.

> "Behind you!" Rivan screamed.

Aarush spun, his sword clashing with the giant spider's frontal limbs, forcing him back.

The smaller spider — now injured — let out a broken screech. The male spider's aura surged, forming an electric fog that blanketed the clearing.

> Aarush didn't flinch. His eyes glowed.

> "Time to end this."

He exhaled — and unleashed his Martial Soul:

---

🌩️ Stormbound Soul — Legendary Grade

Color Aura: Deep Blue with Silver Arcs of Lightning

A shockwave burst from him.

The male spider retreated instinctively. Teji, in pain, still managed a grin.

> "He… he lives five houses down from me... and has the legendary soul..."

He collapsed.

Rivan and Varan stared, stunned.

---

The spider leapt again, venom sacs bursting into acid-like green lightning. Aarush's shoulder was scorched, but he didn't move.

He reached up — calling down thunder from the skies.

⚡ Heavenrend Pulse!

Blackened clouds swirled. Thunder cracked like drums of war.

---

Elsewhere, Seriya and Nivaa felt the climate change.

> Seriya's eyes narrowed. "That's... Aarush. I've felt this aura before."

They dashed toward the battlefield.

---

Back in the clearing, the male spider was near death. But from behind, the smaller spider struck — its fang piercing Aarush's side.

> "AAAH—!"

He gasped. Pain flared. Blood stained his robes.

But Varan, dagger in hand, sliced the spider's leg clean off.

> "NOT TODAY!"

Aarush dropped to his knees, eyes dimming.

Then—he stood. Lightning gathered around his chest, arms raised to the skies.

He roared:

⚡ Final Thunder Style: Wrath of the Skybreaker!

The heavens responded. A bolt descended — colossal and absolute.

The world turned white. Then silent.

---

When the light faded, both spiders lay lifeless — scorched, unmoving.

Aarush collapsed — eyes catching a glimpse of Seriya and Nivaa racing toward him — just before the darkness took him.

He fell.

The forest quieted.

But far below, something stirred…

And it wasn't done watching.
