Chapter 251 - Chapter 248: The End of the Shinobi Era

In the silent space above the ninja world, a vortex opened.

Obito stepped out from within it, the black wheel hovering above his head like a distorted halo.

His blue moon-like eyes glowed faintly, cold and menacing against the endless darkness.

Kaguya looked at the planet below, then turned her gaze toward him.

"What are you going to do?" she asked softly in a calm voice.

"Are you planning to devour it?"

The words were enough to chill any ordinary heart, yet Kaguya spoke them as if she were merely asking about the weather.

Obito slowly raised both hands and brought them together without answering her question.

The moment his palms aligned

A radiant blue ring appeared between them.

It resembled a sphere in the process of being born, layers of glowing light rotating endlessly around a tiny core of darkness. Cosmic starlight shimmered across its surface like an artificial star cradled within his hands.

The surrounding space began to distort silently.

Even the distant stars seemed dimmer in front of that eerie blue radiance.

Kaguya's pale eyes narrowed slightly.

She could feel it immediately.

Creation.

Destruction.

Several terrifying principles were fused together inside that single technique.

"…That technique…" Kaguya Ōtsutsuki murmured, insight glinting in her pale eyes.

Rather than probe further, she simply met his gaze–a single, complex look that carried every unspoken question.

"You asked what I'm doing?"

Obito's voice drifted quietly through the endless void.

"I'm simply following through on a promise I made in the heat of the moment."

The blue sphere continued rotating between his hands, casting waves of cosmic light across the darkness around them.

"To be honest… I never really intended to keep it."

A faint laugh escaped him.

"But somewhere along the way…"

Obito lowered his eyes slightly.

"…those meaningless promises I once thought had no value started becoming important to me."

A small smile appeared on his face.

It was a gentle expression rarely seen from him—so unfamiliar that it almost didn't belong to the man who stood above the world like a calamity.

The faces of Konan, Pakura, Yugao, Mei… and the others flashed through Obito's mind one after another.

Konan standing silently beneath the rain of Amegakure.

Pakura's fiery eyes filled with pride and stubbornness.

Yugao hiding her worries behind a cold expression.

Mei carrying the weight of an entire clan on her shoulders while still refusing to bend.

Along with them came even more faces.

People who had unknowingly carved their existence into his life.

People he once believed were nothing more than temporary connections.

"Then let it be today…"

Obito's calm words reached Kaguya's ears, then spread farther into the silent void, defying the natural order itself.

"If this world insists on crushing the weak…"

"If this reality was built so that suffering, loss, and despair are nothing more than inevitabilities…"

"Then I'll overturn all of it."

The blue light between his hands grew brighter and brighter until it illuminated the darkness around them like the birth of a new star.

"I'm not a saviour, and neither am I righteous."

"I know better than anyone what kind of person I've become."

"But even so… there are still things in this world I refuse to lose."

"I've seen enough lives broken by fate, war, and meaningless sacrifice."

His moon-blue eyes shone fiercely.

"And if the heavens themselves refuse to change…"

Obito slowly spread his hands apart.

"Then I'll become the one who changes them."

BOOOOOOOOOOM!!

The blue sphere instantly burst outward.

A gigantic ring of dazzling light expanded across space at unimaginable speed, swallowing the darkness around the planet.

From afar, it looked as though a divine halo had wrapped itself around the entire ninja world.

Oceans.

Mountains.

Clouds.

Every continent was engulfed beneath layers of radiant blue brilliance.

"And from this moment onward…"

Obito's voice spread quietly through the void like a declaration… every word impossible to ignore.

"Let this world move according to the will of those I hold dear!"

Across the ninja world, the strange phenomenon could not escape the eyes of those standing at the summit of power.

The moment the enormous ring of blue light encircled the sky…

Everything stopped.

The Five Great Nations.

Hidden villages.

Even ordinary civilians walking through the streets instinctively raised their heads toward the heavens.

For a brief moment, the entire world fell into stunned silence.

No one understood what they were looking at but deep inside, almost instinctively... everyone felt it.

Something enormous was about to change.

A transformation far beyond war, beyond politics, beyond the era itself and whatever was descending upon the world…

It was not something mankind could resist.

Only witness.

Only accept.

Inside the Hokage Office, Tsunade suddenly froze mid-sentence.

The paperwork in her hand slipped onto the desk as her amber eyes widened toward the glowing sky outside the window.

"What… is that…?"

Beside her, Shizune felt her breathing grow heavier without realizing it.

"I have… no idea, Lady Tsunade."

Meanwhile, inside a quiet room within Konoha.

Kushina suddenly frowned in her sleep.

"…Mn…"

Her hand slowly rubbed against her forehead unconsciously.

For some reason, her head felt strangely heavy.

As though something important had quietly disappeared from her memories.

In another room, Naruto turned restlessly beneath his blanket.

"…Sasuke…"

The young boy mumbled softly in his sleep while rubbing his own head in discomfort.

Neither of them saw the glowing halo surrounding the world outside.

...

"Hey, Kurenai… you've been spacing out a lot lately. What's going on with you, huh?" Anko asked cheekily, throwing an arm over Kurenai's shoulder.

"It's nothing really… just too much has been happening lately, so I can't focus properly. Maybe… I should retire," Kurenai replied with a stiff smile.

There was no way she could tell Anko the truth.

Like the fact that she might actually be missing the guy who was probably behind the Third Hokage's death.

She wasn't trying to end up hunted down by ANBU.

"Heh… I don't buy it." Anko grinned mischievously as she leaned closer. "I smell love."

Kurenai's eyelid twitched slightly.

"And not just any love…" Anko's grin widened even further. "The tragic, one-sided kind."

"W-What nonsense are you even saying?!" Kurenai immediately turned red and shook her head furiously. "Are you drunk?!"

"Hahaha… oh, this reaction just confirms it even more."

"Anko, you–"

Kurenai abruptly stood up, face burning with embarrassment.

"I'm never talking to you again."

"Eh?! Come on, I was joking!" Anko hurriedly reached out. "Hey, wait! Kurenai!"

Kurenai ignored her completely and walked away faster.

A few seconds later...

The restaurant owner suddenly appeared beside Anko with a terrifying smile.

"That lady already left."

"…Huh?"

"She also said you're paying for everything."

Anko froze.

"…That traitor."

In a quiet corner of Konoha's streets, Kakashi slowly lowered the small orange book in his hand.

His visible eye narrowed beneath the blue radiance reflecting across the village.

"…This chakra…"

No.

It felt far too vast to simply be called chakra anymore.

Beside him, Might Guy stared at the sky in complete shock before suddenly clenching his fist.

"What youthful radiance is this?!"

Even while shouting, cold sweat slowly rolled down the side of Guy's face.

He turned abruptly, looking at Kakashi with a seriousness rarely seen on his face.

"Hey, Kakashi."

"What is it, Guy?" Kakashi glanced at him suspiciously.

Did Guy notice something?

That expression… I've almost never seen him this serious.

But Guy's next words made Kakashi want to kick him.

"Kakashi! This must be the final challenge handed down by the heavens themselves… to decide which of us truly wins!"

Guy pointed toward the massive ring of light above the world.

"Let's race until we outrun that circle! The winner becomes the eternal victor!"

"…"

Not everyone was as optimistic as Might Guy.

Across the ninja world, many of the major powers were already beginning to panic.

Far away in Sunagakure, Granny Chiyo stood atop a high tower overlooking the endless desert.

The winds around her slowly began to calm.

Her aged eyes reflected the enormous halo encircling the heavens above.

For the first time in many years…

Even she fell completely silent.

"…This feeling…"

Granny Chiyo frowned slightly as she stared at the sky.

"…What in the world is about to happen?"

"Granny Chiyo… what should we do if an enemy attacks right now? The entire village is panicking."

A scar-faced Sunagakure ninja reported nervously, sweat running down his face.

No one could even understand what this strange phenomenon was.

What kind of shinobi could create something like that?

"Stay alert…" Chiyo narrowed her old eyes toward the sky. "I have a feeling we'll find out soon enough."

She paused briefly before speaking again in a calm tone.

"Besides… I don't think there's anything we can do about it anyway."

The ninja froze slightly at her words.

He still wanted to ask more questions, but seeing Chiyo casually wave her hand, he could only bow and leave to relay the orders.

Sunagakure was already in chaos.

The Fourth Kazekage was dead.

Gaara's whereabouts were still unknown and now, just when everything was already falling apart…

That massive mysterious circle had appeared in the sky above the world.

In Kumogakure, the Fourth Raikage abruptly rose from his seat.

The wooden floor beneath him cracked from sheer instinctive tension.

"What the hell is going on?!"

But despite his usual fury, there was an unmistakable trace of unease in his eyes as he stared upward.

Because his ninja instincts were screaming at him.

Whatever was happening above the world…

It was beyond them.

"Raikage-sama, please calm down," Mabui said beside him with a helpless sigh.

"How the hell am I supposed to calm down?! Aren't ya seeing this?!" the Raikage roared while pointing at the enormous halo covering the sky.

Mabui adjusted her glasses calmly.

"I am seeing it."

"Then why are you so calm?!"

"Because panicking won't change anything."

The Raikage opened his mouth—

Then paused.

Mabui continued in the same composed tone,

"You're the Raikage-sama. Since even you don't know what this is… then the only thing we can do right now is stay calm."

"…"

Outside the village, Killer B walked slowly up the surface of the waterfall, his gaze fixed on the glowing sky above.

"…Yo…"

"This ain't normal, fool… this ain't cool…"

"This feeling's bad, yo… way beyond a tailed beast show…"

For once, even his rap carried a rare seriousness.

Inside the dark mindscape—

The Eight-Tails slowly opened one of its massive eyes.

"This feeling…"

Gyūki's deep voice rumbled heavily through the space.

"…It reminds me of the Sage of Six Paths."

Killer B's usual carefree expression gradually faded.

"Ain't no way…"

In Iwagakure, Ōnoki floated outside the Tsuchikage building, his small body suspended in the air while his old eyes stared at the blue ring surrounding the heavens.

The stubborn old Tsuchikage said nothing but observed.

Beside him, Kurotsuchi's expression tightened.

"Grandpa… what is that?"

Ōnoki narrowed his eyes.

"Tell everyone to stay calm. No one is to act carelessly."

Akatsuchi swallowed nervously.

"But Lord Tsuchikage… if this is an enemy attack—"

"Then we're already too late."

Ōnoki's words silenced him instantly.

The old man looked up at the dazzling sky, his face grim.

"Whatever is happening up there… if it isn't a natural phenomenon… then it's not something Iwagakure can stop."

...

As for Kirigakure

The Fourth Mizukage, Yagura, slowly stepped onto the balcony of the Mizukage building.

The dazzling blue light illuminated his face while the mist below gradually became clear.

His expression remained completely emotionless but if he had not been under Obito's control…

Even he would not have been able to hide the shock in his eyes.

...

Far away from the hidden villages and the growing panic spreading across the world…

Atop the towering castle of the Land of Snow—

Mei Terumī, Yugao Uzuki, Pakura, Chihori, Karin, Hinata Hyūga, and Koyuki Kazahana stood together beneath the dazzling blue heavens.

The enormous ring of light reflected across their faces while snow drifted quietly through the cold air around the castle rooftop.

Yet unlike the fear spreading throughout the world…

Smiles could be seen on their faces.

As though they already knew exactly who was responsible for this impossible phenomenon.

Koyuki gently held the railing while staring at the glowing sky.

"…So he finally managed to do it."

Beside her, Hinata quietly pressed both hands against her chest.

Even her pale lavender eyes trembled faintly beneath the blue radiance.

Meanwhile, not far away...

White Zetsu slowly raised his head toward the heavens before grinning widely.

"Hehehe… looks like everything's finally coming to an end."

Beside him, Orochimaru narrowed his golden snake-like eyes while a faint smile appeared across his pale face.

"To think someone would be able to accomplish something like this…"

His voice carried clear fascination.

"How marvelous."

White Zetsu suddenly pulled out two wine glasses from seemingly nowhere.

One for himself.

One for Orochimaru.

"Hehehe… to a new world!"

"To a new world," Orochimaru echoed with an amused chuckle as he accepted the glass.

Nearby, Haku smiled softly while standing beside Kimimaro in silence.

And then...

Tobi suddenly struck a dramatic pose.

Feet apart.

Arms crossed.

Chin tilted upward toward the heavens at an absurdly sharp angle.

Even the wind itself seemed to pause around him.

Classic Prince Vegita pose.

"…Behold," Tobi declared mysteriously.

"The birth of peak fiction."

Beside him, Kimimaro silently copied the exact same pose with complete seriousness, his chin raised toward the sky with absolute dignity.

The atmosphere instantly became bizarre beyond description.

Pakura stared at them for a moment before the corner of her eye twitched.

"…Why are they standing like that?"

"No idea," Mei answered with a soft sigh.

"But somehow… I find it strangely amusing."

Elsewhere, within the Land of Snow

Mikoto Uchiha sat quietly alone in her room.

Her beautiful eyes carried faint worry.

Earlier, Izumi had suddenly gone to find Sasuke after receiving some kind of order from Obito.

And ever since then, an uneasy feeling had lingered inside her heart.

"…Dear wouldn't hurt the children… right?"

Mikoto murmured absentmindedly.

Yet for some reason, the words lacked confidence even to her own ears.

Then, without warning, another thought surfaced in her mind...

The time she had spent with Obito.

Living together.

Even roleplaying like husband and wife for so long that somewhere along the way…

The line between acting and reality had quietly blurred.

A faint blush immediately spread across Mikoto's face.

"…Honestly… how old are you, Mikoto…" she muttered while lightly smacking her own cheek.

"To still think like some young girl…"

Outside, the blue radiance grew brighter and brighter.

"And why is the sky so bright today…?"

Mikoto frowned softly before closing the window curtains without thinking too much about it.

Then she turned around and walked toward the hallway.

The others seemed to already be gathering together upstairs.

Thinking about Chihori, Mei, and the others waiting above…

Mikoto slowly quickened her pace.

...

Deep within Amegakure, endless rain continued to fall over the dark steel towers of the Hidden Rain.

At the very top of the tallest structure…

Pain silently gazed toward the enormous ring of blue light surrounding the heavens.

The glow reflected within the Rinnegan, yet his expression remained completely indifferent.

"…No matter who is responsible for this," Pain said calmly.

"It changes nothing."

"Konan, has Madara contacted us? What does he have to say about this?

Konan stood quietly at the balcony before speaking after a brief silence.

"…Madara still hasn't contacted us."

Pain slowly closed his eyes.

"Then that means it isn't anything worth worrying about."

Then he opened them once more.

Before the Rinnegan…

Even the strange phenomenon covering the world seemed insignificant.

"Do not waver, Konan."

"As long as I stand here…"

Pain's voice grew heavier.

"…Nothing can shake the will of a god."

"…."

Konan's mouth twitched slightly.

For some reason, hearing Nagato say those dramatic lines while knowing the person responsible was Obito nearly gave her a headache.

In the end, Konan merely sighed softly while looking toward the glowing heavens.

"…Honestly…"

"Why is everyone around me an idiot…?"

...

Elsewhere, within a forest already reduced to ruin from battle…

Sasuke and Izumi slowly dragged a battered Uchiha Itachi across the muddy ground using chakra-infused ropes.

SCRRRRKKK

Itachi's body scraped heavily through the wet earth.

His Akatsuki cloak was torn apart beyond recognition.

Blood mixed with mud across his body while one of his arms hung unnaturally twisted.

Even breathing seemed difficult for him now.

The battle from earlier had been brutal.

Because unlike the original timeline

Izumi was alive.

And under Obito's orders, the moment Itachi had been isolated…

She and Sasuke jumped him without hesitation.

The result was obvious.

No matter how strong Itachi was, fighting both of them at once–especially after they had already been enhanced by Obito had turned the battle into a completely one-sided beating.

Above them, the enormous blue halo illuminated the entire night sky.

Sasuke slowly stopped walking.

His dark eyes reflected the glowing ring surrounding the heavens.

"…What the hell is that?"

Even his Sharingan instinctively spun once.

Beside him, Izumi narrowed her eyes slightly toward the sky.

Unlike Sasuke, however…

A faint smile slowly appeared on her face.

"…So, Dadd—"

Izumi suddenly coughed and turned her face away.

"…So he finally started."

Sasuke immediately glanced toward her.

"You know something?"

Izumi merely continued dragging Itachi forward through the mud.

"No."

Her answer came far too quickly to sound believable.

Sasuke raised an eyebrow, but didn't question her further.

Since she didn't seem to find it malicious, that meant it had something to do with them.

Otherwise, she wouldn't look so calm right now.

With his sharp mind, Sasuke quickly concluded that this had to be something their leader was doing.

At this point, he honestly wouldn't be surprised no matter what happened next.

After all, finding out that another Uchiha—Izumi—was still alive besides him and their leader had already given him hope.

Behind them…

Itachi slowly lifted his head despite his injuries, trying to gather information from their conversation.

Blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

As for his eyes...

No…

He no longer had any.

Sasuke had gouged them out himself, leaving Itachi unable to see the light everyone was talking about.

During this entire time, he had experienced shock after shock.

The first was Sasuke becoming strong enough to defeat him… then surpassing him entirely.

The second

Izumi Uchiha still being alive.

The moment he saw her again, guilt and regret nearly swallowed him whole but Izumi had shown no intention of speaking to him.

She had attacked him immediately and beat him down without mercy.

The only reason Itachi was still alive was because Sasuke secretly whispered something to her that he couldn't hear.

After that, she changed her mind about killing him.

Still… the strange, almost creepy look Izumi gave him afterward continued to linger in Itachi's mind.

Too many things had gone wrong.

So many truths existed outside his knowledge that, for the first time in years, even Itachi began questioning himself.

How many more things… had been hidden from his sight?

Itachi had no idea...

That question would soon be answered in the most despairing way possible for him.

Then under the gaze of everyone in the ninja world, the light intensified, forcing countless people to close their eyes as everything became engulfed in a blinding, soundless light.

For one fleeting moment…

The world knew absolute silence.

As if all hatred, pain, and conflict had vanished beneath that endless radiance.

And beneath that light...

The era of shinobi quietly came to an end.

THE END.
