Inside the bleak, freezing depths of the cave, a maniacal laugh echoed off the walls.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!"
"Team Rocket's technology is truly extraordinary! Even a Legendary cannot control its own destiny in the face of science!"
"Come! Become the tool with which I shall dominate the world!"
Ghetsis raised his head, looking up at the two Legendary Pokémon before him.
One was jet black, with thunder and lightning flickering across its body.
It was the Dragon of Ideals, Zekrom.
The other resembled a frozen Tyrannosaurus Rex, exuding a bone-chilling aura. It was the strongest dragon, Kyurem.
Both Pokémon had dull, lifeless eyes. They possessed terrifying power, but their divine majesty was gone.
It was as if the will inside their brains had been completely suppressed by technology.
"Zekrom..."
N, who was being held hostage by the Shadow Triad, looked at Zekrom with despair in his eyes.
"Wake up! Please!"
Hearing the cry of the Hero of Ideals, a flicker of light flashed in Zekrom's dull eyes.
It was struggling.
Observing this, Ghetsis immediately looked to his hired scientist.
"Colress! Now!"
Colress held a remote control device in his hand. He pressed a button without hesitation.
"ROAR...!"
A painful roar echoed through the Giant Chasm.
Zekrom's resistance shattered. The light in its eyes vanished completely, and it sank back into a mindless stupor.
Ghetsis glared at N in disgust. He walked over and unceremoniously kicked the green-haired young man to the ground.
"You useless piece of trash," Ghetsis spat.
"You never understood the true purpose of Zekrom!"
N, curled up on the cold floor, looked up with tears in his eyes.
"Father... why? Why are you doing this to me..."
"Father?"
Ghetsis's face twisted into a sneer.
"I am not the father of a monster like you!"
"I found you in the woods! I raised you solely to deceive the masses and dominate the Unova Region! But now?"
"Now, you are useless!"
Ghetsis turned his back on N, ignoring his despair. He looked at Colress, who was manipulating the machinery controlling the beasts.
"Let's start."
"Understood!"
Colress's face was filled with scientific fanaticism. He took out a small, triangular object.
The DNA Splicers that Ghetsis had snatched from Drayden.
Colress inserted the Splicers into the containment unit.
Hummmm...
Driven by the machine, the DNA Splicers emitted a blinding purple light. The two Divine Beasts began to distort.
Zekrom turned into a sphere of dark energy and was forcibly absorbed into Kyurem.
FUSION.
A brand new Pokémon appeared in front of Ghetsis.
"ROOOOAAAR!!!!!"
A savage, distorted roar spread throughout the cave, shaking the stalactites. Ice and lightning crackled in the air.
Ghetsis looked at the Black Kyurem, which exuded terror and riotous power, but had no self-awareness.
"HAHAHAHAHA!!"
"The Strongest Dragon Kyurem and the Ideal Dragon Zekrom have merged into Black Kyurem!"
"With this, I don't have to hide in the shadows anymore!"
"With this, I can overthrow those rotting fools in the Unova Alliance! I will dominate Unova! I will dominate the WORLD!"
Ghetsis had won. The villain finally held the ultimate weapon.
"Let's go!"
Ghetsis released his Hydreigon and mounted it.
"Target: Vertress City!!" he commanded, his voice booming.
"Destroy the Unova League building! Claim the region in my name!"
"ROAR!!"
Black Kyurem let out a dull, obedient roar. It turned and followed Ghetsis like a puppet.
A massive army of Team Plasma grunts followed them out of the Giant Chasm, marching toward war.

On a ridge overlooking the Giant Chasm, three figures watched the army depart.
Giovanni, the leader of Team Rocket, stood with his arms crossed.
Behind him stood Maxie and Archie.
They watched Ghetsis, who was off to overthrow the League, with unreadable expressions.
"Boss," Maxie asked respectfully.
"Such powerful force... Why didn't we take it into our own hands? Why help Ghetsis?"
Giovanni didn't look back. He stared at the retreating form of Black Kyurem.
"To be truly recognized by a Legend is an extremely difficult thing," Giovanni said calmly.
"The current Ghetsis is only using external force. He has temporary control over Zekrom and Kyurem. It is not their heartfelt approval."
"Power gained through machines is illusory. A strong wind will blow it away."
Giovanni's eyes narrowed.
"I helped Ghetsis for one reason only. I want him to test Sam."
"I need to see where Sam's boundaries lie."
"If Black Kyurem can defeat Sam's Mega Rayquaza... then in this world, there will be no power left to stop me."
A rare light of anticipation flashed in Giovanni's usually cold eyes.
"Boss," Archie chimed in.
"But what if Black Kyurem can't defeat Sam?"
Giovanni's expression hardened. He withdrew his aura, becoming a void once more.
"If even the Strongest Dragon cannot defeat him..."
Giovanni spoke slowly, his voice dropping to a whisper.
"Then it may be necessary to unite with that person to stand a chance."
"Unite?" Archie blinked.
"With who?"
Archie hadn't followed Giovanni for long, but he knew that Giovanni was an extremely proud man.
In this world, except for Sam, few were worthy of Giovanni's attention. Even Leon, the current World Champion, didn't impress him.
Who was worthy of Giovanni seeking an alliance?
"Boss," Archie asked quietly.
"Who is this person you speak of?"
"Hehe."
