Chapter 64 - Chapter 64 — Rogue Revealed

Greyson was naturally a fast driver, but he broke every speed limit while driving home. The car pulled up outside the pack house, and he slammed on the brakes, bringing them to an abrupt stop.

Indianna struggled to keep up with him as he bolted out of the car and rushed into the pack house.

Most of the pack was crowded into the lounge, and they all sighed in relief when Greyson walked in.

"What's happening?" Greyson demanded, in full Alpha mode. "Do we know where Martha is?"

"We've got people searching," Ace spoke up. He had arrived earlier and had taken charge until Greyson returned. "Her scent just disappears, along with Rogue's."

"Shit," Greyson cursed. "Where's Harry?"

"He's... in the dungeons."

"Stacy," Indianna whispered. "He has her."

Ace nodded.

"Has she been harmed?"

"Her mate is a monster. The only reason she's alive is because we need her!" Greyson growled.

"She's done nothing wrong," Indianna said. "It isn't her fault that Rogue is her mate! I suggested using her to get to Rogue, but we aren't harming her!"

Greyson gritted his teeth.

"Greyson," Indianna said and grabbed his arm. "Don't stoop to his level."

"If anyone hears anything, let me know straight away!" Greyson demanded.

He grabbed Indianna's hand, walked out of the room and pulled her behind him.

"Are we going to see her?" Indianna wondered.

"We are," Greyson said stiffly.

"You can't hurt her," Indianna whispered.

"Her safety depends on Rogue's actions," Greyson growled.

He led Indianna downstairs into the basement, which had been refurbished into a gym. Tucked away at the back was a door leading to another set of stairs.

It grew darker as they walked down, and the air became colder.

Indianna gripped Greyson's hand tightly as fear filled her. Cages began to appear, along with dark, filthy cells with wrought-iron bars across their entrances.

Their footsteps echoed along the damp floor as they walked down the long aisle lined with cells and cages.

It was eerily silent, and Indianna nearly cried out in fright when a rat scuttled past.

"Nothing is going to hurt you, sugar," Greyson said, looking down at Indianna with dark, anger-filled eyes.

"It's not me I'm worried about," she admitted.

Greyson tensed but said nothing.

Finally, they reached the end of the aisle and saw Harry and Brooke standing outside a heavy wooden door with a small caged window.

"For a prisoner, she's acting like a confident bitch," Harry said when Greyson and Indianna stopped in front of them.

"So she's talking?" Greyson asked.

Harry nodded.

"Good."

Greyson opened the door but turned to look at Indianna as he released their joined hands.

"Stay here."

"No, I'm coming in," Indianna said and stepped forward.

Greyson gently held her back.

"Not just yet. I need to talk to her alone."

"No, Greyson. I'm coming in with you," Indianna said firmly.

Greyson gritted his teeth, but turned on his heel and walked into the room.

Indianna followed him and gasped when she saw Stacy tied to a chair, gagged and blindfolded.

"Let me do the talking," Greyson said sternly.

Indianna took his hand, sensing his anger rising.

"Stacy," Greyson said slowly as he walked towards her.

He roughly ripped off the blindfold and pulled down the gag.

Stacy looked up at him, her expression frighteningly calm.

"Greyson, I was wondering when you were going to grace me with your presence," she said sarcastically.

"You're lucky I haven't killed you," Greyson growled.

"You need me," Stacy said and looked at Indianna. "And Indie won't let you lay a hand on me."

"You think that being best friends with her means you're protected?" Greyson snapped.

"Yes," Indianna spoke up.

She pulled Greyson back, gripping his upper arm firmly.

"It does. You aren't going to hurt her."

"Indie, how can you be happy knowing that your mate is a monster?" Stacy wondered.

"Stacy, you should really look at your mate before commenting on mine," Indianna said softly.

"Jason isn't a monster," Stacy said. "He has a bad past. He's troubled, but he cares about you."

"Nothing you say can justify his actions," Indianna said sharply. "He kidnapped Brooke and assaulted her. He nearly killed me—"

"He cares about you!" Stacy cried. "Indie, all he wants is for you to be happy."

"Then he should leave me alone!" Indianna exclaimed. "He should stop harassing me and leave me alone!"

"He won't until you're by his side. With us."

"And he thinks kidnapping a pack member will achieve this?" Indianna whispered. "He's insane!"

"Indie, the pack member will be returned unharmed if both of us walk out of here together," Stacy said.

"Over my dead body," Greyson growled.

"That can be arranged," Stacy shrugged.

Indianna gasped.

"Stacy!"

"Indie, I told you when I first met you that I felt like I had to protect you," Stacy said softly. "I didn't know why until I met Jason."

"What do you mean?" Indianna frowned.

Stacy chewed on her lip.

"I..."

"Tell me," Indianna whispered.

"We're connected, Indie," Stacy smiled. "Just like you are with Jason."

"I'm not connected to either of you!" Indianna gasped.

"Indie, we're practically sisters."

Indianna frowned, and she felt Greyson stiffen beside her.

"W-What? What do you mean?"

"Sugar, you're leaving," Greyson said stiffly. "Go. Now."

Greyson grabbed Indianna firmly and pushed her towards the door.

"You know," Stacy called to Greyson. "You know what Jason is to her."

"Shut the hell up!" Greyson hissed.

"Greyson, stop it!" Indianna yelled and shoved him backwards. "Stacy, who is he? Who is Rogue?"

"Jason," Stacy corrected. "And he's someone who wants the best for you."

"For God's sake!" Indianna yelled. "Just tell me who he is! Please! Somebody tell me!"

Greyson sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Stacy, you can't tell her like this."

"She deserves to know," Stacy shrugged. "Indie, unlike Greyson, we don't want to keep things from you."

"Then tell me!" Indianna demanded.

Stacy looked at Indianna.

"Rogue is your brother."

The colour drained from Indianna's face, and she stumbled backwards, crashing into Greyson. He caught her.

"No," she whispered and shook her head. "That's impossible. No!"

"It's the truth," Stacy said.

"Shut up!" Indianna yelled and squeezed her eyes shut. "You're lying!"

She looked frantically at Greyson.

"Greyson, she's lying! Please tell me she's lying!"

Greyson pursed his lips and slowly shook his head.

"She isn't."

A sob escaped Indianna's lips, and she scrambled out of Greyson's grasp.

"I can't breathe!" she gasped as she stepped backwards. "I need to go."

"Sugar—"

"I need space," Indianna whimpered.

She crashed into the door and fumbled with the lock. Her hands were shaking, and the world was spinning, but she managed to throw the door open and run outside.

"Indie!" Brooke called.

Indianna ran past Brooke and Harry and fled down the aisle. Tears streamed from her eyes, and her breathing came rapidly, occasionally disrupted by a sob.

She could hear Greyson following her as she raced up the stairs to the ground floor of the pack house.

"Whoa there, Indie!" Kal called when she rushed up the stairs and nearly collided with him as he walked out of the kitchen. "What's wrong?"

Indianna slapped Kal's hands away when he reached out to steady her. She gripped the banister and took a shaky breath.

"Where's my mother?" she demanded. "Where is she?"

"I don't know," Kal frowned. "Indie, you look really faint. Maybe you should sit down."

"I don't need to sit down!" Indianna exclaimed and ran her fingers through her hair. "I need to speak to my mother!"

"Sugar," Greyson called as he came up behind Indianna. "Sit down in the lounge. I'll go and get Iris—"

"How could you keep that from me?" Indianna shouted and shoved Greyson's chest. "How could you?"

"Indie, you're in shock. You need to calm down—"

"Stop telling me what to do! Just fucking stop it!" Indianna exclaimed.

She spun around and raced through the pack house, dodging confused and curious pack members.

After searching several rooms, with Greyson and Ace close behind her, she finally found Iris with Laura. They were comforting Martha's distraught niece.

"How dare you!" Indianna fumed as she burst through the door and glared at her mother.

"Indi—"

"How fucking dare you keep that from me!" Indianna shouted. "What sort of mother hides that from her daughter?"

Iris paled when she realised what her daughter was talking about.

"You know," Iris said, her voice barely audible.

"No thanks to you!" Indianna spat.

"Greyson, you know I wanted to tell her," Iris said sadly.

"I didn't tell her," Greyson said.

"His mate did!" Indianna scowled. "I find out who he is through his fucking mate!"

"Indie, I'm so sorry," Iris whispered.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"It was complicated," Iris tried to explain.

"Complicated?" Indianna cried. "How hard could it have been to just tell me?"

"He's a monster!" Iris whimpered.

"Thanks for clearing that up for us," Indianna said sarcastically. "It's not like we already knew that!"

"Sugar, come on. You need to calm down," Greyson said softly.

He gently grabbed Indianna and pulled her towards him. He wrapped his arms around her, and she sobbed loudly into his chest.

"Indianna, I'm sorry," Iris called. "I should have told you."

"Yes," Indianna sobbed. "You should have."

Greyson rubbed Indianna's back. The sparks began to calm her, even though she still wanted to scream, shout and panic.

"I can't believe it," she whimpered. "Rogue is my—"

"Shh," Greyson said and kissed the top of Indianna's head. "Don't say it."

"What are we going to do?" Indianna sobbed.

Greyson gritted his teeth. When he looked at Iris, his eyes were cold.

"Sugar, we're going to kill your brother."
