Frost covered the tops of plants, while windows were still foggy. People slowly saunter on the sidewalk in their overcoats, scarfes, hats and gloves. While the cars still swiftly accelerate past the pedestrians, causing a cold breeze to blow over them. To say the least, it was a cold February morning.
The further in the city, the green expanses were slowly replaced with the familiar concrete trees we call buildings, bustling with pedestrians weaving between them, the majority moving towards the center. The city center had these massive, vibrant buildings making the other buildings colour palette pale in comparison.
Even the sidewalks closer to the center turned from the bland asphalt-grey to a creamy beige. Although, on closer inspection, the pedestrians weren't adults... they were predominantly children. The waves of youngsters navigated towards the building as some were seen to be riding bikes, most were seen walking, or being carried by the flow. Some people near the back of the crowd saw a streak of blue dart across the side of a building, speeding towards the school. More and more people noticed this streak race across the side of the building before jumping from the side of one building to another. The streak slowed down to a figure while jumping between buildings, where the morning sun illuminated the edges of his frame and cast his shadow onto the pedestrians below.
This allowed the people to catch a glimpse of the shoes, the blue streak wore. Bright red, damaged, shoes. As well as three noticeable spikes-like protrusions behind their head: clueing the civilians into who they were.
The people who saw this started to guess who this could be before the figure jumped off the last building and landed a bit ahead of the crowd. The towering building was called UA, and it wasn't just a building. The principal owned a massive plot of land that was as large as a small city, in of itself. Just like the absurd amount of land would suggest, this wasn't a normal school. It was a school for heroes, and today was the entrance exam for the new batch.
The front of the school has a welcoming gate with a hanging sign, which people flocked to. Each particpant was to be checked if they had their school card or not. The now identified blue hedgehog threw something into the air as he flashed them his card, which had the name 'Maurice Hedgehog' with a picture of him smirking next to his name, he caught the thrown object, allowing the guards to catch a glimpse of what he was holding, which was a half-eaten chillidog. He smirked at the officers before dashing through the trickle of children in the school premises, approaching the doors to their, hopeful, future. The blur slackened to a 'walk' as his the blue aura flickered away. He scarfed down the remnants of the chilli dog in his hand as he licked his gloves clean. Before eyeing the room with 'Exam' above it.
He moved towards the back corner of the room and watched as the teenagers flooded the exam hall. Though to call it a 'room' would be downplaying the scale of it. Sonic rocked in his chair as he listened to the yellow haired teacher presentation. Although, from time to time he covered his ears from Hero's occasional raise in volume and rejection of the students.
He looked around the hall, trying to find a cure to his boredom as he finally gave into his urges and put his feet up on the desk in front of him, letting out a sigh that partially melted him into his seat. Before a blue haired boy stood up and shouted something at a muttering kid, a few seats away from him. Before turning to Sonic, shouting, "And you! Blue mutant." Sonic pointed at himself, lifting a curious brow, "Yes, you. Get your shoes off of the desk and stop disrespecting the craftsman and the people who came before us."
Before the mutant could open his mouth. A messy blonde beat him to it "Why don't you get off your fucking high horse. As well as taking that gigantic stick out your ass while your at it." Everyone, including Present Mic, were shocked silent at the interaction, while the air-chopping boy, sat down in his chair with everyone looking between him and the short fused blonde. Sonic thrusted a thumbs up in the blonde's direction, getting a scoff in return.
Present Mic sighed as he continued on with his presentation. "The zero pointer is a distraction that you should not worry about. The 1-pointer is the weakest, the most common and is a small bird-like robot. The 2-pointer is a scorpion-like robot that is uncommon and is slow but strong. While the 3-pointer is the strongest robot and the rarest to find, it is a humanoid robot." This caught our blue hedgehog's attention and he thought that this isn't going to be as bad as he thought.
The hedgehog grinned semi-nervously, being defended by a random person kind of tipped him off that he knew about him and his law-breaking charade. He pushed the thought to the back of his head, as he looked in the blonde kid's direction as he noticed the kid was staring at him. He smiled and turned to where the blonde was, only to find he had left.
He got up and looked at his card as he walked away. On it had the arena he was going to fight in and it was arena A. Sonic followed the crowd to the battleground before finding Arena A. Sonic noticed that the gates were closed and started to lose focus before catching a glipse of the same blue haired boy grabbing some green haired boy's shoulder.
Sonic jumped up and down in place as he stretched his legs, getting ready to go while the speaker boomed "Ready." As some contestants, behind him noticed this specific stretching pattern, from somewhere on TV.
Unbothered by the growing whispering, his blue aura enveloped his form as he jumped upwards while "Set...", was announced. He began to spin in the air, turning into a blue ball as his blue aura violently roared to life around him as he began to pick up rotational speed. So much so that his descent to the ground slowed dramatically. As soon as he touched the ground Present Mic shouted the words "GO!" Sonic blasted forwards with the thought 'Perfect timing.'
