By miss Valarie's suggestion, Nate stepped out of the line, and now he was deeply analyzing the platters that were present on the menu card that was illuminating from his wrist band.
"so....if i choose platter 1, then i am going to miss the dessert in platter 2 which is chocolate ice cream and if i choose platter 2 then i am going to miss the chicken cutlet from the platter 3" he closed his eyes and thinking and he spoke to himself again "this is harder than the math they are teaching us..."
"did you chosen what would you like to eat, student?" asked the fat lady on the other side of the table. Sensing the confusion on Nate's face she spoke again "if you are having trouble on choosing which platter you would like to eat, how about i give you a mixed platter?" asked the lady again.
Nate lifted his head up and asked "is the mixed platter have all kinds of things in it?" the lady replied "yes", "then i would like a mixed platter of everything!" said Nate.
The lady took a small thing in her hands which seemed to Nate like a small torch light, the lady projected the light on Nate and moved the light up and down on him, Nate put on his confused look and asked "what is that light?", the lady laughed and said "since you chosen the mixed platter, the food on the platter will be served according to how much one can eat on, and that way the person can complete his meal without wasting it away, you know, the food we serve is being produced in our school" at the last sentence Nate said "whoa".
The lady continued speaking while serving the food on the mixed platter Nate ordered, "if you have any free time on your schedule today, i would be much delighted to explain how the food is being prepared in the school, how the food is being produced in the school" said the lady with sparks in her eyes, when the lady beside miss Valarie heard about what she said, the lady said "not now Val, the boy just completed his classes, i am sure he would be delighted to listen about you lectures on how the food is being prepared and served, but the boy needs to eat, so if you excuse him, he will have his lunch in peace" said the lady beside miss Valarie.
Miss Valarie's cheeks are pouted when the lady beside her said these things but Nate said "not at all, i would be very interested in discussing this topic, since i should know what i am eating and how good of a quality food does the school is offering to their students, and also if it's anything you would like..." he put his right hand in to his bag and started searching for something and at last of few seconds and took out two cans of chilled soda and extended his hand them and said "thank for your hard work".
Both ladies were very happy on receiving the cans of soda and they said "thank you very much, sweet boy, for you extra serving of chocolate cream on the ice cream", they handed Nate the platter and he was now in a new dilemma of finding an empty seat to eat.
Nate was roaming in the dining hall to find a seat to eat, at last of searching for few minutes he found an empty seat at the end of first row, where only one student sat at the table.
Nate approached the table and asked "is it okay if i have my lunch here, it seems the hall is packed full", the student didn't respond to the question and so, Nate assumed it was okay to sit here and eat, so he started eating his food and he watched the other student on the table who is opposite to Nate, after some time he said "hey! you are girl i helped this morning who is about to trip on your legs" the student didn't responded to that either and then Nate continued "i don't know, if you observed, but earlier in the classroom, i was there when you ran in to the class and searched for something, it is not my business to ask about what it is but" and short pause "what is it?".
The girl didn't reply to that either, she was reading something with out even touching her food, Nate, whose interest was picked on the book she was reading now slightly lifted his body upwards, so he can peek into the book and he did, but the letters in the book made Nate look dumbfounded.
Nate didn't understood a single character from the book and he realized it was improper of him for peeking so he sat down and resumed eating his lunch, then there were few students standing behind her, it was hard to miss the group, because there are few quite of them, it was suspicious to Nate on how they are laughing behind her, he assumed they are talking to themselves and came to drink water, because there is a water tap at the back of their table so he looked down on his plate and eating, he was about to finish when a paper ball came sliding on the table towards him, Nate took the ball and lifted his head, the students are now laughing even more than before so Nate opened the ball and inside there was a drawing of a girl who is reading a book and below had a writing the said BOOKWORM.
Nate lifted his head to see the students, who are constantly throwing papers on them and some reached Nate and he opened it and all said the same thing BOOKWORM.
