It was now late at night, and the celebration had become calmer. The dancers who had been full of life were now slowing down. Their steps were weaker, and the music played softer than before. Even Aeron and Nyella, carried away with the drinking and dancing, were now tired and heavy with wine.
Nyella leaned close to Aeron with her eyes half closed from the drink, and whispered with a lazy smile, "We really need to retire now before I fall asleep here."
Aeron, also swaying with drunkenness, nodded and gave a crooked grin. "I thought so. Alright then, let's go." He tried to steady himself as he rose, and he helped Nyella up too.
Nyella almost slipped as soon as she stood. She missed a step and would have fallen if Aeron had not caught her. He laughed weakly, shaking his head. "Seems like you cannot carry yourself anymore. You drank far too much for a woman."
Nyella giggled like a child. "You think so? Now what are we going to do?"
