Emma was left looking at the door where Hani had just walked out of. Her mind was in a disarray, unable to focus on a single thought. Her finger twitched ever so slightly towards the door as if it was calling out to her, but she never followed through.
Why does she not understand me?
The question that rang the loudest in her mind.
"Emma?"
The voice startled her as she came to hear Leslie's voice call her from behind. She had forgotten in the midst of the argument that Leslie was there all along.
Leslie understands, right? What Hani is trying to do is crazy, right?
"Are you ok?" Leslie walked up towards Emma and placed a hand on her shoulder, as if a spark jolted through her body. Emma snapped out of her continuous thought.
"Leslie..." Emma looked up at the only person she could rely on now. "What should I do?"
