Chapter 54 - Chapter 53

"Are you going to the border of the Land of Snow too?" I asked Minato, somewhat curious.

"Exactly," he replied, approaching me slowly. "The situation there isn't very good. Kuma has almost all of Yukigakure under his control."

That made my eye narrow at the thought since no one had told me.

"Hmm, interesting situation," I simply replied, not letting on about my displeasure.

"Yes, we shouldn't have any problems, since we have the goddess of war on our side," Minato said enthusiastically.

I was going to ask him how he knew that, but I remembered that several ninjas from the base were coming to Konoha. I hadn't told them not to say anything about what happened there, so they must have spilled the beans. And since I spent one day having fun and the next studying, I hadn't heard any rumors or gossip from the villagers and ninjas.

I just sighed at this, only to remember something.

"Hey, Minato, can you help me with something?" I asked, and he nodded. "Look, I'm studying the Flying Thunder God Technique formula so I can teleport myself, mainly to move things around more easily."

I explained the situation; I didn't intend to lie to him, but I also didn't tell him the whole truth, since the Flying Thunder God Technique would allow me to do things out of sight of the Hokage, Danzo, and Orochimaru.

"Well, I don't mind helping you with that, but in return, I need you to help me with something else," he replied, opening his hand and trying to create a sphere, but it dissipated into nothing.

"Oh, what kind of technique is this?" I asked, just for show.

"It doesn't have a name, but for now, I'm calling it the Whirlpool Sphere without Elements or Destructive Hand Jutsu; it's a temporary name. I'll give it a better one later." The name of the technique left me speechless.

"I hope the next name you come up with is better," I said, somewhat doubtfully. "So, what is it?"

"The idea is to create a powerful, instantaneous jutsu that can be used in conjunction with the Flying Thunder God Technique. I came up with this idea when I saw the Tailed Beast Ball during the invasion of Iwagakure." He explained the purpose and origin of the technique.

"I see," I said. "I'd honestly forgotten about the Rasengan. I could have invented it myself by taking the technique from Minato, but honestly, I don't need it. That said, it's still useful.

Minato took about three years to create the basic Rasengan, but that was mainly due to the war. If he'd come up with the idea during peacetime, it would have only taken him months. This technique will serve Minato's survival and status; I don't mind reducing the creation time.

"I feel like you're imitating the Tailed Beasts, and that doesn't make sense, since we aren't chakra beasts. They use chakra differently than we do. That's the first thing you need to realize." At my explanation, Minato listened attentively, nodding his head. "The other thing is that you lack a bit of chakra control; this is because of your reluctance to learn elemental jutsus. You're a little behind in that regard; I have some learning methods to improve your control that my mother taught me. I can teach them to you."

"I would greatly appreciate it; it would help," Minato told me.

The idea behind the Rasengan is to create the sphere instantly and without the user having to think about it. This requires mastery and extremely high chakra control. When you're in battle, you don't have time to think about creating the sphere; it has to be intuitive.

And when the Flying Thunder God Technique is used in conjunction with it, it should appear in the palm of the hand in the blink of an eye.

"Minato-sensei," I heard a voice interrupting the conversation between Minato and me.

I glanced to the side only to see a boy about the same age as the little monkey, with dead-fish eyes and gray hair that defied the laws of physics.

"Oh, Kakashi, you were one of the first to arrive," Minato congratulated his student.

"Compared to that wannabe ninja, he's pretty average." The boy shrugged, feigning disinterest, unconcerned about having denigrated a fellow ninja.

Upon hearing this, Minato's smile faltered slightly, but he did nothing more.

Seeing this, I immediately realized what was happening: Minato didn't know how to treat Kakashi.

"Miyu-sama, it's a pleasure to meet you," Kakashi announced, bowing to me. I just stared at him, and my eye twitched.

Without thinking, I grabbed the silver-haired man's ear and yanked it.

"Ouch," he complained.

"Don't you ever use the 'sama' suffix with me again. I'm not a god or anything, got it?" I scolded him.

"Yes, yes," Kakashi said, trying to get me to let go.

Without thinking, I let go, causing him to fall to the ground. Other ninjas who were watching laughed at this, since it wasn't common to see a prodigy treated this way.

Kakashi only blushed slightly as he rubbed his ear but said nothing more.

"Hey, what's your student doing here?" I asked Minato.

"Hmm?" he looked at me, confused. "I'm their jonin-sensei; they need to come with me on missions there."

I just looked at him, not letting on my true feelings about this.

"Are you sending him to the front lines?" I asked, my voice more annoyed than usual. Minato just shook his head.

"No, he'll just be helping out at allied bases with C-rank missions, nothing more, kind of like what we did when we went to war as genin," Minato replied.

"I don't really like that," I said.

"Well, the situation is pretty complicated, so I have no choice but to follow the higher-ups' orders." I felt Minato didn't like it either, but they didn't have many options.

"We're not late, are we?" I heard a girl's voice, only to see a brown-haired girl with purple markings on her cheeks running toward us, dragging along a boy with orange glasses that matched his clothes and the Uchiha clan insignia on his back.

When I saw that boy, I felt mixed emotions, knowing the plot and what would happen in the future.

"Kyaa!!" the girl exclaimed as I approached quickly, standing just inches away. "You're Miyu-sensei, right?"

The girl's excitement was bewildered.

"Yes, I am," I said simply.

"It's an honor to meet you. My name is Rin Nohara; nice to meet you," she said, bowing 90 degrees.

I didn't really know how to react, since I'd never encountered a fan like this who approached me; they always kept their distance, so I simply ignored them, but never one had approached me like this.

"Yes, nice to meet you," I said, nodding. "I like this one. How about I trade her for Sarutobi?" I suggested to Mianto.

"Please, no, you'd mess up our team," he replied, a bead of sweat forming on his forehead.

"And I won't allow it," the Uchiha boy said.

"And who are you?" I asked, looking at him to play along.

"My name is Obito Uchiha, the next Hokage." His nonsensical answer left me somewhat taken aback.

"That'll happen when pigs fly," Kakashi retorted.

"What did you say, Bakashi?" I saw Obito launch lightning bolts at Kakashi, but he didn't even flinch or look at him.

"Did you say something?" Kakashi asked, which caused Obito's initial enthusiasm to vanish, replaced by a deep depression.

No wonder they said this kid was the furthest thing from the Uchiha clan, only to later become its most extreme member.

"Aren't your genin coming with you?" Minato asked, trying to change the subject.

"Not really, since one of them is, ironically, the Hokage's son." My response left him speechless, as he didn't know what else to say.

"Speaking of other things, I didn't see Kushina once during my stay at the residence," I said, to which he just blushed slightly.

"The truth is, with the money I had, I bought a plot of land where a house was built, so Kushina is currently living with me," Minato explained, somewhat embarrassed.

"Hmm, I see. Next time, let me know, because I might think she's been kidnapped again," I remarked, to which Minato could only nod. At this, I gave him a mocking smile and moved closer to him. "I didn't know your relationship had progressed so far; don't tell me you even got married in secret and didn't invite me. " At that last comment, my heart clenched as if it had been stabbed.

"No, no, no, we're not getting married. We decided we'd do it once the war is over," Minato explained, gesturing with his hands.

We couldn't continue our conversation because the leader of the excursion arrived.

"It's time, so we'll leave immediately. My name is Kasami, and I'm an elite jonin. Let's begin." With that, he leaped into the trees, followed by the others.

"I think we'll have to continue this conversation another time. Minato and his three brats, see you later." With that, I used a Shunshin to reach the leader and support him in case of any emergency. Minato will have to stay with the three of them to protect them.

...

Not much happened on the way to the border, practically nothing; everything was quite normal.

In the midst of all this, we took a break since we had ninjas, genins, in our old car to give her a chance to rest.

During this time, Minato took the opportunity to explain the details of the Flying Thunder God Technique that I still didn't quite understand. I can only say that Minato isn't very good at explaining things, but it helped me realize some details I had overlooked.

That brat Kakashi also came to ask me for advice on ninjutsu. I told him that if he could impress me, I would teach him a jutsu from my arsenal, which led to a small sparring match, which ended in a crushing defeat for Kakashi. Obito took the opportunity to mock Kakashi, which led to them fighting, ending in Obito's humiliation.

Rin also came to ask me for advice, which I gave without hesitation, much to the annoyance of Obito and Kakashi. Minato didn't have any medical ninjutsu to teach him, so I didn't mind showing him some tricks and tips that the Konoha hospital doesn't teach. I couldn't do much, though, since the old man had to keep going.

Once we arrived at Orochimaru's main brigade base, we were taken to a place where we could rest and stay for a while, since we were technically in the backup brigade, so neither Minato's team nor I would be staying there for long.

"Tomorrow we'll have a meeting with Commander Orochimaru to begin planning how to confront the Kumonin." With that said, the ninja delivering the message left.

Well, let's begin.

Without wasting any time, I went to my personal cabin, which was supposed to be my own, but out of pity for Rin, I decided to share it with her. If she were here, Kurenai would have done the same. Just because she's a woman doesn't mean the other kunoichi are very pleasant to be around.

Ignoring the girl, I summoned the scroll containing the Flying Thunder God Technique and began studying. I had the entire day to progress as much as possible with this jutsu.

...

After staying up all night and keeping Rin awake, I finally understood how the Flying Thunder God Seal technique worked. Now, understanding it is one thing, but mastering it like Minato does is another.

I never thought I'd learn this technique, but it's incredibly useful, especially in everyday life rather than in battle.

Grabbing a kunai I had lying around, I left the cabin. I placed the Flying Thunder God Seal formula on it and threw the kunai as far as I could.

I concentrated, searched for the kunai's formula, and the moment I felt it, I tried to jump.

Nothing happened.

I focused again and felt the formula, but now using my chakra, I tried to move it toward the kunai, only to feel the world distort and fall face-first next to it.

"I think I'm going to throw up, but I did it," I told myself, realizing I wasn't anywhere else.
