CHAPTER 47 The Way of the fist
'Boom' an unquenched fire to become stronger erupted in his heart. The dummy was moved ten centimetres back. Ray did not stop instead he started to throw punch after punch on the wooden majestic humanoid structure. Instead of stopping he used his two fists to crush this thing and even though it was not destroyed at least he had made the best progress. With each punch there was an emotion sometimes it was the sadness, pain and suffering he once felt but all he knew is that he felt good as he did this with a clear conscious. Austin put all of the energy he had in his fist and 'boom' when it made physical contact with it a hole was created on the chest as it exploded. Austin knew that it was not enough. A green energy covered the whole remains of the dummy henceby rejuvenating it because as the green energy radiated it's whole body got reattatched and when it did he uttered these three words 'Heaven's Eradicating Fist' and when his fist made contact with it the dummy exploded and this time it did not even regenerate because of the punch and this amazed Ray. The reason why Ray wanted Austin to come in the first place was because they used to train in this room along with his uncle together. When it came to this session Ray did not like to participate in it because he was afraid to break his bones or bleed but Austin was not. Even though Austin would end up tired and his stamina was depleted but his sheer will could not be destroyed by these dummies in fact it took Ray's uncle Zeno to force him to stop because Austin had an unyielding character.
This was the first stage of training because the second one was fighting against these dummies which was the painful one of all. Ray did not even want to think about that one because he had never ever got to that stage due to fear. He was afraid of the first stage. Austin fought in the second stage and obtained victory after twenty times along with the ability test which was something that he could not handle.
Not that he had once participated in them but Zeno Nagisaki was the one who told him that he was too weak to try for the ability test. Zeno encouraged Ray to try the first test which was strengthening one's body and bones but Ray was stubborn to the extent that he did not want to hear his uncle talk about it because he would get infuriated at the end of the night.
The handsome middle aged man with amber like eyes and short dark hair remained quiet and did not say anything to his ignorant nephew. Neither did he shake his head nor did he say anything hurtful to the kiddo but he would just stand up and get out of the room so that he would just gaze at the luminescent stars that were sewn on the beautiful and awe-inspiring firmament, lost in his thoughts and during these times he did not know why but he felt hurt seeing the silhouette of his uncle in the night, a figure who would fill the void in his heart just by looking at the stars alone knowing that everything would be alright. Ray never asked his uncle why he always did that but it always happened when Zeno's nephew did not want to listen to him or when he just wanted to have 'His alone time'. There was something about the way he looked at the stars, it was like he desired something from them but he never told what he wanted, exactly.
Hence training along with Austin brought him the peace and bliss he needed but this traitor committed an offense. He brought the two girls he always wanted to avoid with the other gluing herself to him leaving him in a precarious situation since all the jealous guys would hate him and cause a headache and the other being a freak, an absolute freak who terrified existence itself to say the least. This woman was beyond haunting, she was something that could not be explained using words. Everything about the adopted daughter of the Xue Patriarch was mystery upon mystery because she was hard to fathom since she was a person of a few words and kept to herself most of the times and would talk now and then to Austin and Lilian a bit. The whole Xue family was kind of mysterious and their ability was unknown and they studied the alignmet of stars and they knew the law of Ordinance. Lilian Sevour on the other hand was a carefree person but she did not show that side of hers to everyone except to close people. Lilian Sevour came from the Sevour clan one of the strongest and formidable clans that had the ability to control lightning and they comprehended the law of oblivion and they possessed terrifying arts. Genova wood was number six in the top ten of the best and powerful woods. It was known that the wood would grow more powerful the more it aged but each wood had a diffrerence, a qualitative difference for example the Genova wood was incredible since the wood itself absorbed the environment including the life force that was in close proximity. The more that the people or power beasts, either living or non living that energy would be absorbed and go through a alprocess called photosynthesis although every tree could do this the Genova was more beautiful and more grand since it used the energy to reinforce itself, nourishing its core and replenishing itself in every way and end up creating its own world within its core hence it llbecomes more powerful the more it absorbs that energy. Like other trees that were below and above it, the Genova tree possessed a complex pattern that was a difficult to fathom hence when his uncle made these dummies he used trees that had an insane level of adaptation meaning that the more they received a beating either it be a punch, a kick or anything else even a blast of energy it would absorb it and adapt in a period of 0.0005 seconds meaning that it took one's all to destroy the dummies' with one shot which was very insane since it depended on one's crazy amount of power to destroy a dummy that would use the attack in such a short period, such a short rate which was incredible. Just imagine that Ray Nagisaki had unleashed hundreds of punches that had such brute ferocity within them meaning that the eight hundred and eighty-five punches multiplied by 0.0005 seconds with each punch he unleashed emitting 55-60 pounds per strike and sometimes forty which was remarkable but the more he punched the tougher it became and the tougher it became the more difficult, impossible and bloodied he became but what could he do if he could not win against this dummy that had no breath in it. 'Rising fist stage two combat technique of Oblivion stage number 2', Lilian cried out as she hurled a fist imbued with light and unleashed a devastating punch that destroyed a dummy that had its head removed in the two previous strikes.
At that moment a loud explosion was heard as Moyan used her two fingers to dig into the heart of the dummy. Although it was an ordinary action it destroyed three quarters of the dummy and before it could even regenerate she unleashed a palm strike that was neither strong nor weak to destroy it leaving Ray alone. Three bloodied warriors stood tall while the other one who was the fourth stood in disbelief as he looked at them before he looked at the dummy that he had not destroyed as of late. 'System show me my stats', he did with a loud voice but he asked with a faint tone because he knew that they would be confused by that and they would start suspecting that he was sick when he was not. Seeing these stats he smiled when he saw one that had risen up and that was the durability whose bar had reason from half to three quarters while endurance had become a little less than a quarter and his strength was almost full. As he stood he clenched his fist and looked at the dummy with so much determination and said to himself 'I know the way of the fist too, I am like them too, I am a warrior too and I know who I am too. I am inevitable', he said as he hurled his fist not paying attention to the pain but embracing it, not being stopped by being hurt but enduring it, not giving in to the soreness of his muscles but he gave in to his will and this will was telling him to persevere, to be the top dog and to be the one who asunders the concept of impossibility as he found comfort in this state he hurled his fist with so much power because he had understood the way pertaining to that of the fist and as he closed the gap between the two of them he was becoming more... battle radical.
