I shift my attention toward the direction Alice is staring.
At first I don't notice anything unusual.
The path ahead continues between the remains of several broken buildings while pieces of stone cover most of the ground.
But after looking a little closer, I realize something is different.
There are lights in the distance.
Small orange lights.
Almost like lanterns hanging from buildings that shouldn't still be standing.
"What exactly are we looking at?" I ask.
Alice doesn't answer right away.
She continues staring ahead with a serious expression while holding the map open in front of her.
Akina steps closer beside us.
"That looks like a village," Akina says casually.
"That's the problem," Alice replies.
I glance toward her.
"Why is a village a problem?" I question.
Alice lowers her eyes toward the map again.
"There isn't supposed to be one here," Alice answers.
