Chapter 107 - The Divine Temple Takes Action :II

Aurelia's sword was forged by Loki, the trickster god. The sword allowed Aurelia to cut through all illusions on top of casting some of her own. She moved to the front of the group. Everyone had a heavy look in their eyes. They all wore the red and black uniform of the Sacrifice Warriors. Very few of them carried weapons, but this did not reduce how dangerous they appeared to all who saw them.

"Begin," Aurelia cried out as she channeled her power. She was a sacrifice warrior herself. Her body glowed with a crimson light that filled the world. She raised her sword and cut through the sky with all her might. Her sword released a crimson beam of energy shaped like a crescent. It cut through the sky, appearing to have the power to split creation into two. Bang, the beam suddenly collided with something before the curtain was pulled to the side, revealing the wandering palace.

The moment the palace appeared in the real world, Aurelia swung her sword a few more times and instantly, the entire city was cut off from the rest of the world. All those who viewed the city from the outside would see the illusion created by the sacred treasure, making them think that everything was okay. It was the humans who were still inside the city who could truly see what was happening, and they were shaken beyond belief. The appearance of the wandering palace above their city was unbelievable, but this was only the beginning of the many wonders they would be seeing on this day.

Many of the humans tried to flee from the city as fast as they could, and the illusion that Aurelia had set up did not stop them at all. Those who walked out of the illusion had false memories implanted into their minds. Some of them believed that they had left their homes to pay a visit to relatives, while others went to their dentists. They did not remember anything about the wandering palace or the oddly dressed people who had brought about all this chaos.

All the sacrifice warriors manifested their power and attacked the palace with everything they had. Sacrifice warriors had innate weapons that were activated the moment they sacrificed one of their divine gates to access their sacrifice power. Each warrior had a unique weapon that had a unique power. Some appeared like swords, guns, scythes, spears, and many more. There was no limit to what kind of treasure could be manifested. It was said that a sacrifice warrior's innate weapon was a reflection of their soul, belief, and desires. These innate weapons were called Votum.

The name meant that these treasures were sacred instruments that represented the vow the warrior made to protect humanity. It was their connection to the Supreme Deity, he who granted them favor and destructive potential enough to safeguard all that the warriors held dear.

Aurelia's votum was shaped like a slender sword. It granted her the ability to form illusions. It was because her Votum was shaped like this and had the power of illusions that she was granted the Sacred Treasure created by Loki. The two matched such that Aurelia could overlay her votum onto the sacred treasure, allowing her to unleash far more power than she would have if she used either one of the treasures alone. The votum was intangible most of the time until it was summoned by its wielder.

At this moment, all the sacrifice warriors brought out their votums and released powerful attacks against the wandering palace. A translucent black shield appeared around the palace, taking on all the attacks. There were one hundred thirty sacrifice warriors and they all fired at once. Streaks of fire, ice, darkness, and many other powerful forces filled the sky before they bombarded the barrier. The barrier trembled slightly, but that was all. The humans were not surprised by this.

"Attack," Aurelia cried out at the top of her lungs as she swung out her sword once more. This time, the power she sent out seemed more tangible and intended to annihilate all in its path. She had come to this place with a mission and she was willing to do everything she could in order to achieve this merit.

Inside the palace, Cate had been in her private chambers trying to formulate a new spell that would allow her to walk on water as though it was earth. She already had a similar spell, but the one she had used too much magic and required a lot of concentration. She wanted a spell that would let her remove the boundary between the earth and the oceans of the world. Suddenly, she felt the defenses of the palace come to life. As the master of the Wandering Palace, one could even say that the palace was just another part of her body.

She stood up and with a single thought, a screen appeared before her. The screen appeared to be made from water. It showed what was happening in the city below, showing her all the humans in detail. The wandering palace also identified Aurelia as the Temple Master of the New York Temple. Cate looked at the woman on the screen and began thinking of why these people would be attacking her at this point in time.

"They must have used the Key of Future to track down the palace and possibly find out my true identity," she thought as she walked through the halls of her palace.

Ion soon appeared next to her. The two walked into the palace's grand hall without saying a word, but Cate could feel that Ion was already itching for a fight. By the time Cate reached the grand hall, all the palace servants were already waiting for her. The hall was beautifully decorated with all sorts of precious metals and the finest marble. All the 300 servants who worked in the palace were already lined up in the hall, wearing a black uniform that made them appear to be part of some kind of military force.

All these servants were powerful supernatural creatures. Some were divine beasts and others were undead beings. There were even a few werewolves and vampires in the mix. All these people had their lives bound to the wandering palace, making them powerful defenses that would never die. They had fought against Avalon long ago, and even though the masters of the palace died, these servants survived because the palace granted them a kind of immortality.
