Chapter 163 - Chapter 163: The support team from the human world

Komatsu's face went through a rapid series of expressions—confusion, realization, horror, and then confusion again.

"Wait... testicles? The [PAIR] is... is..."

"Monkey testicles, yes." King nodded, chewing another slice of rainbow fruit. "Very powerful monkey testicles. Testicles that can resurrect the dead." He paused thoughtfully. "Actually, that raises an interesting question. If someone dies, and you resurrect them using testicles, does that mean they were technically brought back by testicles? And if so, does that make them..."

"PLEASE STOP." Komatsu's hands were waving frantically, his face the color of a ripe tomato. "I don't need to think about that! I really don't need to think about that!"

Kaka, the Nitro, watched this exchange with something approaching wonder. Here was a human chef who had awakened her from millennia of slumber, whose Food Luck was so potent it could rouse ancient beings—and he was being reduced to a blushing mess by casual talk of monkey anatomy.

Saitama, still lying on his lettuce bed with his enormous belly, raised a lazy hand. "So the fruit Toriko's after is basically monkey balls. Huh. You learn something new every day."

Garou, still asleep, twitched slightly. Even unconscious, he seemed to sense the absurdity of the conversation.

Komatsu took several deep breaths, visibly trying to compose himself. "O-okay. Okay. Monkey King. Testicles. Resurrecting the dead. I can... I can work with this." He straightened his chef's jacket. "Mr. King, you said the Monkey King is angry. How angry? And is there anything I can do to help Toriko and the others?"

King considered this, popping another slice of fruit into his mouth. "Well, he's currently in his true form—smooth pink skin, gliding membranes, the whole package. And he's leveled a few mountains already. But Toriko and the others are still alive, still dancing, still trying to get that fruit." He smiled. "They're protagonists. They'll figure it out."

Kaka stepped forward, her expression serious. "Chef Komatsu, if I may. The Monkey King's anger, while genuine, is also part of the ritual. The [PAIR] only reaches full ripeness when the king experiences intense emotion—joy, rage, sorrow, ecstasy. The fact that Toriko and the others have provoked such a response means the fruit is closer than ever to being harvestable."

Komatsu's eyes widened. "So... them making him angry is actually a good thing?"

"A necessary thing," Kaka corrected. "Without the emotional catalyst, the [PAIR] remains dormant. It's been waiting for this moment for thousands of years."

On the lettuce bed, Saitama finally sat up with visible effort, his massive belly making the movement comically difficult. "So let me get this straight. Toriko and his friends are up there, dancing with an angry god, trying to grab its testicles, which will supposedly ripen if the god gets emotional enough, and then they can use those testicles to bring people back from the dead." He paused. "And we're down here, eating giant vegetables."

King nodded. "That's about right."

Saitama considered this for a moment. Then he lay back down. "Cool. Let me know when dinner's ready."

Komatsu stared at him, then at King, then at Kaka. "Is... is everyone taking this so casually?"

Kaka shrugged, an oddly human gesture for a Nitro. "After watching five Blue Nitro get annihilated in seconds by your companions, I've decided that 'casual' is the only sane response to this world."

King laughed. "She's learning."

From the mountain peak, another earth-shaking roar echoed across the continent. The battle—the dance—continued.

And somewhere in the chaos, the [PAIR] pulsed with growing light, waiting for the perfect moment to fall.

The reunion was heartwarming chaos. Rin practically launched herself off the camping beast, tackling Komatsu in a hug that would have crushed a lesser man. Master Yoda followed at a more dignified pace, his ancient eyes already scanning the horizon with the practiced assessment of someone who had survived countless gourmet adventures.

Livebearer, the life support unit specialist, was already unloading equipment with mechanical efficiency. Tyran, the Gourmet Corpse representative, hung back slightly, his presence a reminder of the complex alliances that had formed in the face of the Human World's crisis.

"Komatsu! You're alive! You're okay!" Rin's voice was muffled against his chest.

"I'm fine, I'm fine!" Komatsu laughed, patting her back awkwardly. "Everyone's been taking care of me. Mr. Saitama, Mr. Garou, Mr. King—they've all been—"

"Saitama?" Rin pulled back, looking around. "The bald guy Toriko mentioned? The one who's impossibly strong?"

Behind Komatsu, Saitama waved cheerfully. "That's me! Nice to meet you! Got any food?"

Rin blinked. Then, because she was Rin, she burst out laughing. "You're exactly like Toriko described! Food first, everything else second!"

Garou, standing slightly apart with his arms crossed, snorted. "Tch. That's all he ever thinks about."

Master Yoda approached King with measured steps, his eyes holding a depth of experience that few could match. "You must be the one they call King. Toriko's messages spoke highly of you. Said you tamed the Horse King Heracles itself."

King shrugged modestly. "We came to an understanding."

Yoda's eyebrow rose. "An understanding with one of the Eight Kings?" He chuckled, shaking his head. "Young man, I've lived a long time, and I've learned to recognize when someone's understating their achievements. That's no small feat."

Before King could respond, a massive shadow fell over them.

Horse King Heracles had silently moved closer, its golden mane shimmering in the coastal sunlight. Its ancient eyes regarded the new arrivals with the casual disinterest of a god observing ants—but there was no hostility. Just... curiosity.

Livebearer froze mid-motion. Tyran's hand went to his weapon. Even Yoda's composure cracked slightly.

"Everyone, it's okay!" Komatsu quickly intervened. "That's Heracles! He's with Mr. King! He's friendly!"

The Horse King snorted, a sound that ruffled hair and rattled equipment, but made no move to attack. After a long moment, it turned and ambled back toward the tree line, finding a sunny spot to lounge in.

Rin let out a breath she didn't know she'd been holding. "F-friendly? That's your definition of friendly?"

Komatsu laughed nervously. "Well... friendlier than it used to be?"

Saitama, completely unbothered by the entire exchange, wandered over to the camping beast and peered inside. "Hey, this thing's got a kitchen! Can we cook something? I'm hungry again."

Garou groaned. "You just ate enough to feed a village!"

"That was hours ago."

King watched the chaotic reunion with quiet amusement. Then his gaze drifted toward the distant peaks of the Hundred G Mountains, where the sounds of battle—of dance—had finally begun to quiet.

"They're almost done," he murmured. "The fruit's about to fall."

Kaka, who had been observing silently from the shadows, stepped forward. "My lord, shall we—"

"Yeah." King turned back to the group, clapping his hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright, everyone! Reunion time's over. Toriko and the others are finishing up their dance with the Monkey King. They'll have the [PAIR] soon. Let's head to the base of the mountain and meet them."

Rin's face lit up. "Toriko! We're going to see Toriko!"

Komatsu nodded enthusiastically. "And he got the [PAIR]! The fruit that can resurrect the dead! Think of what this means for the Human World!"

Master Yoda's eyes gleamed with ancient wisdom. "If what you say is true, young chef, then this changes everything. The famine, the losses, the sacrifices—perhaps they can be undone."

Tyran spoke for the first time, his voice rough. "The Gourmet Corpse... we've lost many. If this fruit can bring them back..."

King held up a hand. "Let's not get ahead of ourselves. One fruit, even one as powerful as the [PAIR] , has limits. But yes—this is a step. A big one."

He turned and began walking toward the mountains, his figure somehow both relaxed and commanding.

Saitama fell into step beside him. "Hey King, this [PAIR] thing—does it taste good?"

King laughed. "Saitama, my friend, with you, it's always about the food, isn't it?"

"It's always about the food."

"Well, from what I hear, it's the most delicious thing in existence. So yes. It tastes good."

Saitama's eyes lit up. "Then let's hurry!"

Behind them, the group began to move—chefs, warriors, scientists, and survivors, united by hunger, hope, and the impossible promise of a fruit that could raise the dead.

And high above, on the mountain peak, the dance reached its climax.

The [PAIR] was ready.
