Chapter 831: The End; Victoria's Fall
Victoria grabbed a handful of snow and threw it at Sophia. "You're a demon! Get away from me!" She crawled backward. "Stay away!"
Then she screamed toward the warriors again. "Help me! Help me, I beg you!"
No one came.
Victoria looked at Sophia. And something inside her finally broke.
"Please," she said, though the word was barely audible.
"Please forgive me." Her voice shook as she spoke. "I'll do anything. Anything at all. I'm your mother, and I'm not above mistakes. Just forgive me this once, okay? Please, just this once. I promise to never come near you again. I swear it."
A tear slipped down Sophia's cheek. How pathetic the same woman who had tormented her for years now looked.
"Do you remember," she asked softly, "how many times I begged you like this?"
Victoria's lips trembled as she tried to put as much distance between her and Sophia.
