It didn't take long for them to arrive at the village, Both of them quickly found a bar and entered. The bar had quite a few people drinking and there were a few tables that were quite loud.
They went to a table and shortly after a young woman came out. She noticed 2 new guests and came to greet them after delivering a few more drinks to the loud table.
"Welcome to my bar, I'm Makino, sorry for all the noise. What can I get you?"
Before Ars could answer Olivia replied first.
"I would like your best dish, with some juice on the side and you can bring the same for my date here. And is it true that this is Garp's hometown?"
Ars could see Makino face shifting slightly when Garp was mentioned, but she replied trying to sound calm. This type of question normally preceded either aggression or a few more questions that if not answered carefully, could lead to violence, so she dreaded this question.
"Yes, it's true. And do you need anything else?"
Olivia shook her head. Just the thought that a powerful marine could pop around without warning was enough to make her a bit nervous. She understood from what Ars said that the marine hero was a good person and after meeting him, she probably would take a liking to him, but before that she was still a bit afraid.
The loud table after hearing Garp name went silent for a while, but they retaked their noisy behavior shortly after, but this time they got their eyes on Ars and Olivia.
One of the men approached them and tried to start flirting with Olivia, who even with a mask, had a body that was quite attractive.
"Hey beauty, how about you take that mask off and come play with us?"
She ignored him and he tried to get violent, while screaming, clearly intoxicated from the amount of drinks they had drunk until now.
"Hey bitch… I'm talking with you!"
Ars got angry, she was his wife and there was no way that he was going to let an insect disrespect her.
So he grabbed the man's shirt and threw him flying to the other side of the room. The noisy table went silent once again, but then they got up and rushed angrily at Ars.
Either him or Olivia could destroy these idiots, so it didn't take much time until all of the idiots were on the ground crawling in pain, even if all Olivia did was glare at them, like she was looking at filth, strangely one of them seemed to be enjoying the glare... Finally Ars went back to his seat.
When Makino came out, she froze for a few seconds. She had expected the rowdy group to have left, since they had gone quiet, but now she realized that they probably got their asses handed to them by the recently arrived couple.
She brought the food and the drink looking around and after she put the food in front of Ars and Olivia, she asked.
"Did they cause problems?"
Olivia smiled and replied calmly with a bit of a playful tone.
"No… They were just tired… Seeing that my husband sang them a lullaby to help and they were so pleased with it, that they fell asleep right here."
Makino smiled a bit and she looked at Olivia who was starting to eat and didn't ask anymore questions about Garp or get violent.
She got a bit curious and decided to ask.
"Previously you asked if this was Garp's hometown, but then you didn't ask anymore questions or got violent… 90% of the people who ask that question have a bunch of problems with Garp and cause a bunch of problems for us… Why was that?"
Olivia thought about it and then decided it wasn't that much of a deal to explain to her the situation.
"Simply put… Marines slaughtered my island and since then, I simply don't like marines in general… Especially high ranking ones… And while I did hear that Garp was genuinely a good person, I really don't want to meet him if possible… Or any marine…"
Makino showed a horrified face and hugged Olivia.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to pry on your past or your suffering, I was just curious."
Olivia hugged her back and pacified the very distressed Makino, who was feeling really bad about the question.
"It's fine… I already accepted that being angry or sad won't help me in any way."
After that Makino went back to serve customers in the bar that had recently arrived, while Olivia and Ars finished their meals.
When Ars and Olivia were done eating they went to pay and Makino looked at them still a bit awkward, but asked hopefully.
"I hope the meal was good."
Ars smiled and replied with a very calm expression.
"It was good but didn't make clothes explode from how amazing it was."
Olivia sighed and commented a bit exasperated.
"I never heard of food that makes your clothes explode and if it exists i will stay clear of it."
Ars showed a fake pitiful face then raised his forearm to his head and said playfully.
"You won't let your clothes explode even for me… Oh, the indignation… My disappointment is immeasurable and my life is ruined…"
Olivia rolled her eyes and joked back.
"Oh the horrors… How can I ever redeem myself…."
Makino laughed at their interaction, it was obvious they had a good relationship. And finally commented.
"Well, sorry to disappoint, but we don't serve clothes exploding food here… Maybe in certain districts in the Goa kingdom you can find such rare items but I don't see that happening often."
Ars and Olivia smiled at her, she had finally relaxed after getting that answer from Olivia.
They both smiled at her and started to leave.
Makino followed them to the door and once outside she saw them both vanishing in front of her eyes…
"Ghosts?"
Then she looked at the money that was given to her and checked it. It was real money.
Unaware that their very fast departure caused Makino to think they were ghosts, they quickly moved between the trees until they saw 2 young boys camping in the woods, not too far from the treehouse.
Ars eyes shone for a second before returning to normal and Olivia, a bit worried about the boys, quickly approached them.
She didn't avoid making noise so they quickly became aware of her, Ars was still hidden, sitting on a branch observing the situation amused.
One of the boys quickly got up and demanded answers. While moving closer to the other one.
"Who are you? And what do you want from us?"
Olivia smiled at them and quickly raised her arms trying to diffuse the tense situation.
"We mean you no harm, we just saw 2 young boys eating alone in the middle of a forest and we decided to ask if everything was alright."
The older boy got even more nervous.
"We?"
Olivia then looked around and realized Ars didn't follow her. A bit embarrassed, she said loudly.
"Get your sorry ass over here."
They all heard Ars laughing and suddenly he appeared right behind Ace, tapped his shoulder and when he looked to complain to Luffy to stop playing around, there was a finger waiting to poke his face from someone he didn't know.
This caused him to jump away from Ars that he landed near Olivia, who raised her hand and messed up the boy's hair, causing him to become even more flustered. He jumped away again, now on a diagonal way and finally landed away from both, the situation was a bit tense and they all stood there silently. But while they were silent there was a sound in the air, of someone voraciously eating food.
The boy who didn't react to their arrival had kept eating and was now close to finishing the entire food that they were eating.
"Hooy! Luffy doesn't eat my meal too…"
That comment was a bit too late, as Luffy had already finished all the food available and started looking around. He finally noticed that there were 2 unknown people among them.
"Huh? Who are you two? Did you come to steal my meal?"
Olivia who had been silent only thought to herself.
'How slow are you??? And you have already finished… What am I going to steal? The bones??'
The other young boy decided to ignore them, he realized they had no nefarious intentions. He rushed towards Luffy and screamed angrily at him.
"Don't steal my food!"
The younger boy looked shocked at being attacked and quickly explained.
"Ace, since you left it, i thought you didn't want it anymore…"
Then he broke off laughing.
Ars also smiled while Olivia kept getting more and more shocked…
Ace was already used to his brother's personality and quickly screamed at Luffy.
"An unknown person just landed behind us, of course my priority will change…"
Luffy thought about it and then showed a very panicked expression, but then calmed down and commented.
"You're right they could have come to steal my meat… Thankfully I finished quickly."
Olivia was having second thoughts about the boy's intelligence, while Ars was trying to not laugh… Too hard…The woods, besides the 2 bickering boys, were silent. Even mother nature knew this shouldn't be interrupted, because she wanted to have a good laugh too.
Ace was now squeezing Luffy's neck. And after a few more minutes of Ace being angry, he looked at Ars and Olivia.
"Why are you still here? What do you want?"
Ars looked at him and quickly replied with a grin, amused by the situation.
"Oh? Don't mind me, I'm just enjoying the show!"
Olivia hit him on the back of his head and corrected him.
"We only saw 2 young boys, out here alone and got worried. And your parents should also be worried if you spend the night on the mountains."
Luffy looked confused and looked at them, before dropping a bomb.
"I have parents??"
Ace blushed and Olivia looked at Luffy like he was some dumb monkey in the middle of a city.
Ace decided it was better for him to explain.
"It was our grandfather who left us with a group of people that take care of us for him, but we mostly spend the days and sometimes the nights in the forest, we are strong so they don't worry about us."
Olivia was shocked and quickly spoke with outrage.
"What kind of incompetent idiots let 2 teenagers out in the middle of a forest for themselves, and your grandfather must be just a bit of an idiot."
Luffy was shocked by the information and quickly asked.
"Is it strange for your grandpa to throw you in the middle of a forest to survive?"
Olivia's eyes went completely wide and screeched.
"Of course it's strange."
Both Ace and Luffy mouths went wide open from shock.
Ars, who had been laughing his ass off to the point he couldn't find it anymore, suddenly froze and with a very serious expression looked, towards the direction they came from just a few minutes ago.
Olivia also noticed Ars going silent and looking in the direction of the village with a serious face. She quickly identified that there was a problem and almost instantaneously she grabbed Ace and Luffy under her arms before moving behind Ars and dropping them.
They were very confused but Ace did realize that something wrong had happened. And started staring in the same direction.
Not even 10 seconds later a man arrived wearing a marine uniform and following him a man with a hat.
"Hoy! Who are you 2? And what do you want with those brats?"
Ars smiled and replied.
"Wow! You can speak human language instead of starting to punch straight away."
The man looked offended.
"What do you mean by that? I'm a good marine, those are all just people spreading false rummors…"
Olivia was quite defensive and demanded.
"Who are you? And why are you here?"
The man laughed a bit and responded truthfully.
"I'm Monkey D. Garp, a marine vice-admiral and I came to see my grandchildren. Is there something wrong with it?"
Olivia looked at the 2 young men who had displeased faces and were trying to sneak away.
"Is what he is saying the truth!?"
They nodded and Garp laughed, but Olivia was now over her fear of these 2 marines, overcoming it with anger towards Garp.
She quickly attacked him while screaming angrily at him.
"What kinda buffoon throws children in the forest to survive on their own."
Garp got a bit embarrassed and could only defend himself and think of a way to explain the situation.
Seeing Garp not wanting to attack Olivia, Ars relaxed and looked at the other man.
"I'm Ars and that is Olivia, You?"
"Bogard."
