Seed's head was still bowed sweating from the hot sun.
"Hey kid, raise your head. Are you really that strong? You look as fragile as it gets." Damon said
Seed looked at Damon, frowning his eyebrows.
"But from the looks of your face, you look like you have a strong resolve. do you have a strong resolve ?" Damon asked.
"Take it lightly on the kid. You don't have to rush him like that." Richard said placing his palm of his hand on Damon's shoulder
"oh come on Rich, you fun killer " Damon said, pushing Richard's hand away from his shoulder.
"Hey you two, knock it off! Our job is to assist this unique student. we do not get a unique ability user every day. Don't waste this chance." Barla said. Looking Annoyed.
Colonel Mike locked his gaze on the four and said, "Now that I see you guys getting along I will be taking my leave. Take care of the student you three."
Seed looked at Colonel Mike and said, "But why, though? Why do you care? Why do you want them to teach me? I get it that my ability could be unique for the military but it doesn't make any sense."
He looked at Seed picking carefully his next words
"Because we are trying to decide if you are a threat or not, new could be dangerous or could be useful. It depends on what team you are on. Now I will be leaving."
Colonel Mike didn't utter a single word after it and left.
"Now that he is gone we could start assessing you, starting with your ability Seed. How does it work? Where did you find it or who taught it to you?" Barla said.
"Speaking of rushing" Damon commented.
Seed was thinking of a lie that he could say to the teachers because he didn't know what actually should be said and what should not.
"I am a blood manipulator. I can manipulate my own blood as long as I have blood in my veins. I could use it but I can run out of blood and die like any other human. That is how it works."
He took a breath, sighing, and then continued.
"I used to work as a construction worker and at the site where we used to dig to put the structure of the building, I found a blood ruby crystal. I pulled it above my chest where my heart's supposed to be and cracked it and that's how I got it."
"the construction site had records of beasts attacks near it before and a battle breakout between adventurers and beasts, so I think that is why the crystal was at that construction site"
"when I found it I was fooling around with it and after I cracked it I didn't think it was an actual ability crystal ; then I passed out and my brother found me in the hospital. After that I was transported here."
Seed inhaled deeply after stating all of these words. Had to lie about him dying and resurrected. And the part of his ancestors and the shadow beast that he beheaded so as his brother
Barla looked at Seed, saying,
"Interesting, I should write this down. Now I would like to test you against the dummy and I would have Instructor Damon look after you and so as instructor Richard to know your survival skills in battle. "
"Hey kid, do you have a weapon of choice? " Damon asked:
"actually yes! Here, let me show you this trick!" Seed replied.
As he placed down his backpack on the ground, he opened it and only rags were inside: food and a towel but his sword wasn't inside.
His sword was actually in his system. inventory he put his hand inside the backpack and the sword materialized inside miraculously the sword appeared out of the backpack. He used Same trick that he used in front of Jay.
Miraculously because the sword was a meter and a half long, it would never fit inside his backpack.
Ta-da! Seed said with a surprising tone
"Nobody told me that we have a magician. In the school" Damon said
"well go ahead Seed, show us what you got." Richard said
Seed stood in front of the dummy, recalling every single battle he watched the student take against it. The dummy gets its strength and speed and endurance from the opponent and he thinks that the biggest mistake that every student did was
hitting the dummy as strong as they can, because the dummy would calculate the strength and use it against you in the other two phases.
"Whenever you're ready, kid." Damon said,
Seed sighed.
"Okay Here goes nothing."
He whispered. Luckily he didn't have to pretend to be weak because the sun is already weaken him. He didn't want to show his full power. Not yet.
He lightly punched the dummy in the face, making the number on its head go up to 8.
Ending phase one.
Damon analyzed his punch, saying that
"that is not his full power. He is holding back."
Luckily Seed was a couple of meters away. He couldn't hear him or that was Damon's thought. Seed's senses were enhanced after he became a night caller
Richard looked surprised at Damon's words and looked again at Seed.
"Maybe he's that smart."
"You two quiet. Let's see what he would do" Barla said,
phase two was the agility. He didn't need to be fast on this one but he needed to be smart.
This phase doesn't mean that the dummy won't attack. It will attack if the opponent doesn't appear to be attacking.
He stood in front of it not getting closer and the dummy got closer.
For 5 seconds no movement until from the two the dummy analyzed that the opponent is not appearing to attack so it went into fight to intimidate the opponent.
Seed understood that and he started to dodge every single attempt of attack.
Until he noticed that every single second it moves, the dummy is being slowed, giving the opportunity for the opponent to land a hit and still Seed didn't land a single hit. Because if he just landed a hit, the dummy would assess his agility and use it against him.
He was aiming to let the dummy assess his stats wrongly because his goal was to break the dummy in the endurance test.
"What is he doing," Damon, surprisingly?
"he's passing the test," Richard replied enthusiasm.
Seed kept that pace until the dummy barely moved. After that he barely punched the dummy right in the face. Ending phase two. Agility 4
Seed smiled. His glorious plan is working.
