Chapter 9 - 009: Resolution

Kelvin pulled the trigger of his weapon and began to shooting sporadically at the demons that came close to him. Their heads and bodies bursted upon contact with his bullets.

"Damn you!! Go fuck in hell!!!" Kelvin exclaimed as he shot at them fiercely. His face was red with anger. He could not bear the pain of losing his best friend.

He swung his weapon right round and smashed it against some demons coming at his left. The machine gun was heavy but its weight was next to nothing under his anger.

Around the site of the attack, demons were falling rapidly and fast. A lightning fast red energy circled around the demons killing them with precision and targetion.

Kelvin stared at the scene watching the demons dying fast. His face reddened as he saw a being standing over the fallen bodies. The same one who had slayed the Arch Demon.

"Damn Dark Angel !!!" Kelvin exclaimed to the being. "Horis!!! How dare you!!!?'' Kelvin snapped in anger as he ran towards Horis.

Horis turned slightly. His blue hair waved in the motion of the air. His eyes brightened as he heard the voice of Kelvin. He stared at him sternly.

"What the fuck is wrong with this damn..." Horis muttered under his breathe.

Kelvin came at him striking him with his elbow. Then his knee struck at his jaw but the attack didn't take an effect on Horis as he stared back at Kelvin.

Kelvin collapsed backwards as the elbow he used to attack Horis burned him in pain. The body of Horis was built hard and strong and as a mere human his body was nothing but inferior to Horis'.

Horis was a Scythe Dark Angel. The second rank among the Dark Angels. He was a regular Dark Angel that saved this city. But even with the fact that he was the Dark Angel with highest show up in the city, he still had an appearance of only ten times.

Horis stared at Kelvin in shock. His brain tried to assimilate what he had just witnessed. Kelvin attempted a rough attack? He bursted into a sudden laughter.

Kelvin stared at him in anger. His anger boiled more as he saw that he saw Horis laugh out loudly.

"You bitch!! You have no idea how much trouble you have caused. Do you have an idea of how many people that died because of your lateness!!!'' Kelvin thundered.

"Humans?..." Horis muttered and smiled widely.

"You never learn. Wonder if I would have received this insult if I had decided not to flaunt God the Supreme's order. They fail to understand the grace we bring for them." Horis muttered.

"To hell with the grace!! What is the use of the hope and grace you feed us when you end up allowing us to feed in our sufferings. The world would have been better without your kind." Kelvin muttered. Horis eyes widened in shock.

What the.. How could he be so inappropriate? Why was it that this human was bent on hurting him? He hated being down graded and unappreciated for his good works.

He clenched his fists tightly and looked at Kelvin then he saw the tears in his eyes. His anger melted instantly. Kelvin did seem to be hurt.

"Well not my fault. Just don't put the blame on me. Besides this is nothing but a voluntary service which you are aware of. It is a similar role you play and I expect you understand how it feels not to be appreciated for your works." Horis asked.

Kelvin stared at him in shock. His mind flashed back to Late Captain Henry. He had died because the humans had refused to help him out.

"I know that his orders were rash but then at least not a single soul happened to honour his words. He died protecting this city and it would be ill of me to let that slip by." he tilted his head to stare at Horis.

"Well I guess you are right. It is indeed painful. Especially when you die in it. Somethings just need to change." Kelvin muttered to himself and Horis.

"Commander!! Captain Henry is–" Kelvin haunted him before he could finish his statement.

"I know. Just gather up his body. We will give him an appropriate burial." Kelvin said. Horis stared at him as he saw him cry.

"You seem to have lost a dear soul." he asked lightly. Kelvin paused for a moment.

"He was my only true friend!! He took a bullet for me!! He was my... he was my...damn..." he closed his eyes as he fought with his emotions. He looked away and buried his face in his palm to cry in pain.

Horis stared at him. He could understand how he felt but as a Divine being his level of emotions was different from a human. He could be easily moved by the tears of another but he couldn't cry. Ethereal Beings were not given a system of tears.

"Sorry. Next time I would try my best." Horis said to console him. Kelvin turned to stare at him sharply.

"It is not your fault. Rather it is the humans." Kelvin said and clenched his fist in anger. He stared around the remaining soldiers and noticed that they were all crying.

"And I have made my decision." Kelvin said and stood over the piles of the demons. Everyone turned to stare at him.

"Over my dead body... over my dead body will I stand on my legs to fight a demon for the sake if humans. These beings do not deserve pity and I now see why the Gods placed a judgement upon them!! From today I retrieve my men from saving these demons. Go home and suffer no more for your enemies!!" Kelvin exclaimed as loud as possible.

Horis stared at him in shock. He smiled lightly.

"Bro lost his mind to pain. This is what we see daily. A regular situation caused by pain. Pain causes blindness and blindness? Regrets and more pain." Horis muttered as he faded into darkness unnoticed.
