"Look."
Ethan turned his head to Neville and continued.
"Look at what your boyfriend has done. He abandoned you. He left you for his friends."
He then reached out to Neville's baby hair that was sticking out and tucked it securely behind his ear.
"At the end of the day, you're just the new guy."
Ethan leaned close to Neville's ear and whispered suggestively.
"You're replaceable to him. He'll always pick the people who have always been there for him for a long time now."
He stared hard at Neville's earlobes, tempted to take a bite.
But he refrained and said in a deep voice, "And unfortunately, you're not one of them."
Crick!
Ethan's attention was piqued when he heard the crack. He looked around, thinking that it might just be his imagination.
Crick, crack!
But when Ethan heard it louder and clearer this time. He pinpointed where it actually came from. He then hurriedly checked Neville's head—
KSSHHH!!
—the circlet shattered.
