Chapter 94 - "The Battle Between Them"

Just then, Radha and Naveen, awakened by the continuous doorbell, came downstairs.

Naveen asked,

"Aanya... who came at this late hour?"

Both of them looked toward the entrance.

The moment they saw Aryan standing outside, they were stunned.

Radha spoke first.

"Aryan babu?"

Aryan smiled politely.

"Namaste, Aunty."

Radha and Naveen looked at each other in confusion.

Aanya, however, stared seriously at him.

Naveen finally spoke.

"But, Aryan babu... you? Now?"

"I mean, at this time?"

Aryan was about to answer.

"Well, Uncle, the thing is—"

Before he could continue, Aanya quickly interrupted.

"Nothing."

She gave a fake smile.

Everyone looked at her.

Aanya continued,

"He had some work earlier, so he couldn't come with me."

"Looks like his work is finally finished, so he came now."

"Right, Mr.Aryan?"

She looked at him.

Aryan immediately nodded.

"Yes. That's the reason."

Aanya secretly felt relieved.

Naveen was about to say something, but Radha stopped him.

"Okay, Aryan babu. You must be tired after such a long journey."

"Go to your room and get some rest. We can all talk tomorrow."

Aanya and Aryan looked at each other.

Aanya then turned around and went upstairs to her room.

Aryan smiled politely at Radha and Naveen before following her.

Naveen watched them leave and frowned.

"I'm still not understanding why Aryan babu came now."

"I mean, he could have come tomorrow instead of coming this late at night."

Radha looked at him knowingly.

"Oh, you don't know anything."

"Can't you understand what happened?"

Naveen looked at her.

"What?"

Radha sighed.

"Something obviously happened between those two."

"That's why Aanya came here angrily, and Aryan babu came all the way here to convince her."

Naveen raised an eyebrow.

"How do you know that?"

Radha smiled.

"Because something similar happened when we were newly married."

"Remember? We had a fight, I went to my parents' house in anger, and later you came begging me to come back."

Naveen thought for a moment.

"When did that happen?"

Radha gave him an annoyed look.

"Many times."

"Looks like your memory is getting weaker."

Naveen immediately looked away.

...

Inside Aanya's room...

Aanya closed the door behind her.

Aryan looked at her.

"Aanya, look, I'm—"

Aanya turned toward him with a low, angry voice.

"Why did you come here?"

"Tell me."

Aryan sighed.

"Aanya... I'm sorry for what I did."

Aanya gave a fake laugh.

"Wow. Sorry?"

"Mr. Aryan Mehra, do you even know the meaning of the word 'sorry'?"

"You do everything first, and later you come and say sorry."

"Why?"

Aryan became silent.

Aanya continued,

"And do you think just because you said sorry, I'll forget everything and forgive you?"

"Never."

Aryan looked at her.

"Aanya, I admit that I made a mistake."

Aanya raised her eyebrows.

"You admitted it?"

"How is that possible?"

"I thought you were going to say, 'I didn't do anything wrong.'"

Aryan sighed.

"Aanya, please..."

He paused for a moment.

Then he reached into his coat and took out something.

Aanya looked at it.

It was a box of butterscotch ice cream.

"I bought this for you."

Aanya stared at it for a few seconds.

Then she said seriously,

"It's melted."

Aryan looked at the box.

"Well... you'll have to keep it in the fridge."

Aanya gave him an incredulous look.

Aryan immediately noticed her expression and became slightly nervous.

"Or... I can keep it in the fridge."

"Wait, Mr. Aryan."

"What exactly did you think?"

"You bought my favorite ice cream, and like a little kid, you thought I would immediately accept your apology?"

Aryan quickly shook his head.

"No, no. I was just—"

"Anyway, Mr. Aryan..."

Aanya turned away.

"I don't want to talk to you."

"I'm going to sleep."

"And tomorrow, leave my house before I wake up."

Aryan wanted to say something, but stopped himself.

Aanya climbed onto the bed.

After a moment, she looked at him.

"Where are you going to sleep?"

"I'll sleep on the floor."

Aanya stared at him.

She felt a little guilty.

"No need."

"Sleep on the bed."

Aryan looked at her in surprise.

Aanya picked up a few pillows and placed them between them.

"You sleep on this side."

"I'll sleep on this side."

Aryan looked at her in confusion.

Aanya noticed his expression.

"What?"

Aryan hesitated.

"Don't you have a problem with this?"

"I mean... if you feel uncomfortable, then—"

Aanya immediately interrupted.

"Don't think too much."

"It's not because I care about you."

Aryan looked at her silently.

Aanya continued,

"I can't let you sleep in the guest room because my parents might find it strange and start questioning our marriage."

"And I can't let you sleep on the floor because I'm not that cruel."

"Besides, there isn't another bed in this room."

Aryan nodded.

"Okay."

Aanya pointed toward his side of the bed.

"And remember one thing."

"Leave as early as possible tomorrow morning."

Aryan didn't say anything.

He quietly climbed onto the bed.

Both of them lay down on opposite sides, with a row of pillows separating them.

"What about the ice cream?"

Aanya gave him a serious look.

Aryan immediately became nervous.

"I mean..."

Aanya cut him off.

"No need to keep it. Anyway, I don't want to eat the ice cream you bought."

She said it seriously and turned around to sleep.

Aryan didn't say anything.

He quietly placed the ice cream aside and lay down on his side of the bed.

The next morning, Aanya woke up.

She immediately looked around the room.

"Looks like Mr. Aryan has left."

She smiled in relief.

"Thank God."

Aanya got out of bed and went downstairs.

But the moment she reached the living room, she froze.

Aryan was sitting on the couch.

Aanya stared at him in disbelief.

"He's still here?"

She slowly walked downstairs, trying not to show her irritation.

Everyone looked at her.

Radha smiled.

"You woke up, Aanya?"

Aanya smiled.

"Yeah, Mom."

Meanwhile, Aryan looked at her and smiled.

Aanya, however, gave him a serious look and sat down.

Radha continued,

"Aryan babu and your dad were just talking about business."

Aanya gave a fake smile.

"Oh... okay."

Naveen suddenly said,

"Radha, I have an appointment with the doctor today."

Aryan immediately said,

"Uncle, I'll drop you."

Aanya looked at him seriously.

Naveen shook his head.

"No need, Aryan babu."

Aryan smiled.

"Uncle, please. I don't have any work today."

Aanya suddenly interrupted,

"Aren't you leaving?"

Everyone looked at her in confusion.

Aanya immediately realized what she had said and gave a fake smile.

"I mean... don't you have any office work?"

Aryan looked at her.

"No, Aanya. I don't."

Aanya gave him another serious look.

Meanwhile, Radha opened the refrigerator and suddenly asked,

"Aanya, where did this ice cream box come from? Did you buy it?"

Aanya looked confused.

Before she could answer, Aryan said,

"No, Aunty. I bought it."

"It's Aanya's favorite ice cream, right?"

Aanya looked at him in shock.

Radha and Naveen smiled.

Aryan quietly said to Aanya,

"I kept it in the fridge last night, so you can eat it later."

Aanya rolled her eyes.

---

Meanwhile, at the Mehra house...

Prerna asked,

"Mom, when will Bhai and Bhabhi come back?"

Devika sighed.

"Even I don't know, Prerna."

"But I just hope Aryan manages to convince Aanya and brings her back."

Nandini immediately interrupted,

"What is wrong with both of you?"

Devika and Prerna looked at her.

Nandini continued,

"Why should Aryan have to convince her?"

"Aanya left on her own. If she wants to come back, she can come back herself."

Devika frowned.

"Sister-in-law, she left because of Aryan. Of course, he should be the one to convince her."

Nandini rolled her eyes.

"I don't understand why you admire that Aanya so much."

"And why did Aryan have to go there so late at night, leaving all his work behind?"

Prerna was about to say something, but Devika stopped her.

Nandini continued sarcastically,

"Aryan is becoming completely biwi ka gulaam(wife's slave).

Devika and Prerna both rolled their eyes.

---

At Aanya's house...

Aryan came to Aanya's room.

"Aanya."

Aanya looked at him.

"Me and Uncle just came back from his appointment."

"The doctor said everything is normal."

Aanya stared at him for a moment, then closed the door behind him.

"What are you doing?"

Aryan looked confused.

"What did I do?"

Aanya crossed her arms.

"What was that overacting downstairs?"

"I mean, what are you trying to prove to my parents? Even though our marriage happened so suddenly, are you trying to show them that we're some perfect, ideal couple?"

Aryan became silent.

Aanya continued,

"And do you really think my dad can't go to the hospital by himself?"

"Or that I can't take him?"

"No, Aanya. I didn't mean it like that."

Aanya interrupted him.

"And didn't I tell you to leave?"

"Why are you still here?"

Aryan looked directly into her eyes.

"I won't leave without you."

Aanya's eyes widened.

"What?"

"Never, Mr. Aryan."

"I'm not going back with you, no matter what."

Aryan took a deep breath.

"Aanya, please."

"I'm really sorry for the way I reacted."

Aanya looked at him silently.

Aryan continued,

"Look, I didn't mean to hurt you."

"I know you did everything for me."

"It's just that... I wasn't in my right mind at that time."

Aanya gave him a bitter smile.

"Yes, Mr. Aryan."

"In your 'not-so-right mind,' you shouted at me."

"And in your 'not-so-right mind,' you broke the watch I gifted you."

Aryan looked away, clearly feeling guilty.

Aanya continued,

"I'm not coming with you."

Aryan looked at her helplessly.

"Aanya, please don't say that."

"Please."

"I'm begging you."

Suddenly, Aryan bent down onto his knees.

Aanya stared at him in shock.

"Mr. Aryan, what are you doing?"

Aryan looked up at her.

"Please forgive me, Aanya."

Aanya didn't know what to say.

"I know I did wrong."

"I'm guilty for what I did."

"And I promise I'll never repeat it again."

Aanya looked at him.

"Mr. Aryan, please stand up."

Aryan shook his head.

"No, Aanya."

"I won't stand up until you accept my apology."

"Mr. Aryan, don't do this."

Suddenly, they heard Radha's voice from outside.

"Aanya!"

Aanya's eyes widened.

"Mr. Aryan, my mom is coming."

"Please get up."

Aryan shook his head.

"No, Aanya. I won't."

Aanya stared at him helplessly.

Radha's voice came again as she walked upstairs.

"Aanya!"

Aanya whispered urgently,

"Mr. Aryan, I'm seriously telling you. Stand up."

But Aryan still didn't move.

Having no other choice, Aanya sighed.

"Okay!"

"I'll come with you."

Aryan looked at her in surprise.

"Seriously?"

Aanya nodded.

"Yes."

"Now get up."

Aryan immediately stood up.

Just then, Radha knocked on the door.

Aanya quickly opened it.

Radha looked at her.

"How long have I been calling you?"

"Come downstairs. Lunch is ready."

Aanya nodded.

"Okay, Mom."

Then Radha noticed Aryan.

"Aryan babu, you too."

Aryan smiled.

"Yes, Aunty."

He walked out, glancing at Aanya.

Aanya gave him a serious look.

During lunch, Radha suddenly said,

"Aanya, actually, Preethi's daughter's first birthday is coming."

Aanya looked at her and listened.

Radha continued,

"She invited us to the birthday party, and I was thinking of going shopping for her daughter."

"But since you're here, why don't you go shopping for her?"

Aanya smiled.

"Yes, Mom. I will."

"I also wanted to buy some clothes for myself, so I'll get something for her daughter while I'm there."

Radha smiled.

Aryan suddenly interrupted,

"I'll take her shopping, Aunty."

Aanya immediately gave him a look.

Radha smiled.

"Okay, Aryan babu. You and Aanya go together."

Aanya gave a fake smile.

"Okay."

...

Later, they went to a shopping mall.

Aanya and Aryan walked into the children's section.

Aanya began looking through the little girls' dresses while Aryan stood beside her.

A saleswoman approached them.

"Ma'am, are you looking for girls' dresses?"

Aanya nodded.

"Yes."

The saleswoman pointed toward another section.

"Ma'am, we have even more varieties over there."

"Oh, okay."

They walked over to the other section.

Aanya looked through the dresses carefully.

The saleswoman picked up one dress.

"Ma'am, how about this one?"

She showed it to Aanya.

Aanya looked at it.

"It's nice."

The saleswoman then looked at Aryan.

"Sir, you can also take a look. This would look really cute on your daughter."

Aanya immediately looked at her in shock.

Aryan tried his best to hold back his smile

.

The saleswoman continued innocently,

"How old is your daughter, sir?"

"We have different sizes for different age groups."

Aryan casually answered,

"One year."

Aanya slowly turned toward him and gave him a serious look.

The saleswoman nodded.

"Oh, one year."

"Then we have plenty of options."

Aanya quickly interrupted.

"Actually, we don't have a daughter. This is for my friend's daughter."

The saleswoman looked surprised.

"Oh... then do you have a son?"

Aanya looked at the saleswoman helplessly.

Beside her, Aryan lowered his head and quietly smiled, trying not to laugh.

The saleswoman continued innocently,

"Ma'am, we also have different models for boys."

Aanya finally looked at her.

"We don't have any children."

The saleswoman became silent.

Aanya picked up the dress again.

"Anyway, please pack this one."

The saleswoman nodded.

"Yes, ma'am."

She took the dress and walked away.

Aanya immediately turned toward Aryan and gave him a serious look.

She walked away.

Aryan smiled to himself and followed her.
