CHAPTER 00022
Akar stumbled backward at the sight of a bomb about to explode with that little time left. His eyes darted around the room, locking on the door that he entered through. He beelined for it, sprinting like there was no tomorrow.
He jumped into the wooden frame, kicking through the door with ease. He slid to stop himself, immediately turning to ascend the stairs to his left. With insane speed, he traversed the staircase, realizing just how deep underground he was.
He heard a loud yet distant thud, and the structure around him began to tremble.
"Damn it," he thought. "Jonjimo's body must've been near a wall or pillar. I'd bet the whole house is coming down."
His theory turned out true as the walls around him began sinking and crumbling a bit. At this point, though, he was near the top of the seemingly endless staircase, and emerged into the ground floor of the mansion. Arriving there, as the walls shook violently around him, Akar remembered the maze of a home that this was.
He had just been taken through here a few hours ago, but it was still hard for him to remember where exactly he came through. It didn't matter though. He realized just how dire the state of the mansion was when a piece of a ceiling beam detached right before him, falling through the floor.
He jumped out of the way as something similar happened right where he was standing. Evading the barrage of obstacles, he parkoured his way towards a window. Slicing through, he jumped out just before something fell on him.
Rolling out onto the grass, Akar realized it was already morning as he watched the mansion collapse into its foundation before him. He leaned back and sighed, but before he could rest, he saw the entire village gathered not far from him, watching him intently.
Unsure of their response, Akar gazed nervously towards them. Instead of anger, though, the whole crowd let out a collective cheer, clearly pleased by the destruction of the manor.
