Chapter 294 - Chapter 294: The New House

The commotion caused by the move was neither big nor small.

But it was there.

Gardevoir quickly finished packing up the things in her room.

In truth, there was not much to pack.

After all, she did not have any clothes. The room held only a desk and a wardrobe.

The wardrobe was filled with plush dolls.

Not all of them had been left behind by Lin Feng. Some were gifts Jirachi had given to every Pokémon in the plantation.

There were far too many dolls to fit in Lin Feng's room, so they had ended up here instead.

Lin Feng was also packing in his own room, neatly gathering his clothes.

He did not seem to own much either.

Aside from a few changes of clothes and some toiletries, his luggage was painfully modest.

Once everything had been packed into storage balls, he followed the stone path toward the new house.

Gardevoir teleported over shortly afterward.

Between the forest and the river, a large tiled villa appeared before Lin Feng's eyes.

Across the river, a snow white Alolan Ninetales lay on the grass with several Eevee, quietly watching Uncle Liang fish.

The big fish he caught were placed into a bucket.

As for the small fish… they were being fed directly into Alolan Ninetales' mouth?

"Huh?"

Lin Feng froze.

Then his expression turned strange.

No wonder Alolan Ninetales and the Eevee had been bringing back fish almost every day lately.

At first, Lin Feng had assumed Alolan Ninetales was tirelessly catching them in the river.

Since she was an Ice type Pokémon, he had not thought much of it.

He had even reminded them not to let the Eevee go into the water.

He never imagined this.

They had not gone into the river at all. They had simply been waiting on the shore.

Realizing this, he called out, "Hey, Ninetales!"

"Vulpix?"

Alolan Ninetales lifted her head. When she saw Lin Feng and Gardevoir, she happily greeted them, then spread a thin layer of ice across the water's surface.

She led the Eevee over, but did not forget to turn back and melt the ice afterward.

"The fish you've been bringing back these past few days," Lin Feng asked, "were they all caught by Uncle Liang?"

"Yes yes!"

"He's a good person!"

Alolan Ninetales nodded vigorously, then raised her front paws and hurriedly buried herself in Lin Feng's arms.

Her snowy, fluffy fur felt as smooth as the finest silk.

Watching her nuzzle against him, Lin Feng sighed helplessly. "You've been asking him for fish every day. Don't you feel embarrassed? Those are fish he caught himself."

"Why would I be embarrassed?"

Alolan Ninetales looked up at him, blinking her crystal clear eyes.

"Uncle Liang said he doesn't need these fish. Even if he didn't give them to us, he would just release them."

Lin Feng patted her head. "That's true, but…"

"But he can offer them freely. You shouldn't demand them. And you should give something in return. Mutual goodwill is how you earn someone's favor."

"What should I give him?"

Alolan Ninetales stared at Lin Feng, completely blank.

She did not have anything, did she?

Should she go pick fruit from the plantation?

"It's fine. You're my Pokémon. I'll help you prepare a gift."

"Okay."

Alolan Ninetales smiled again.

"All right, all right."

Lin Feng set her down and patted her head once more.

Then he looked over toward Uncle Liang, who waved back at him from across the river.

Uncle Liang loved fishing. For a fishing enthusiast, what was the most precious thing?

"Fishing gear, and bait that can actually catch fish."

A good set of fishing tools would do, but bait required more thought.

It could not be too good, and it could not be too bad.

If a fish bit the hook every single minute, that would hardly count as fishing, right?

That settled it.

"Bulbasaur, Bulbasaur?"

At that moment, Bulbasaur spoke up.

"Bulba?"

"Why are you here?"

Lin Feng rarely came to this area.

Aside from the times Dragonite and Blaziken came to train, he usually stayed away.

And right now, neither Blaziken nor Dragonite were around.

Lin Feng explained, "We're moving. I plan to move some things over today and see if we're missing any furniture. We'll take a look first, then later I'll give everyone a room by room tour."

"Moving?!"

Alolan Ninetales' eyes lit up as she could not help glancing at the large villa nearby.

The house was finished now. The pounding and hammering were gone.

Only a faint fragrance drifted from inside.

It was Aromatisse's scent.

"I want to see it too!"

"Then let's go together."

And so, what was originally just Lin Feng and Gardevoir going to inspect the new house turned into something closer to a grand parade, with Alolan Ninetales and the Eevee joining in.

When they reached the front, they saw that the exterior walls were tiled in soft off white ceramic. A spacious courtyard surrounded the entire house.

The back faced the new plantation, while the front was paved with concrete.

After all, no one wanted to constantly scrub mud off the front of the house on rainy days.

Grooves had been left around the perimeter, meant for planting flowers or even vegetables.

Lin Feng planned to fill them with soil this winter and mix in nutrient fertilizer.

That way, he could start growing vegetables next year.

They stepped into the courtyard.

The first thing they saw was the front door, which led into the main hall.

Lin Feng led the Pokémon inside.

A Pokémon covered mostly in pink, with purple feather like plumes on its head, appeared before them.

It was an Aromatisse, currently using its moves.

"Hello."

"Aroma."

After greeting Aromatisse, Lin Feng did not linger.

Instead of heading straight through the front, he crossed the hall and entered the living room.

The living room was enormous. Besides two other Aromatisse maintaining their moves, the construction team's leader, Hupa, was also there.

Hupa greeted him enthusiastically. "Hey, kid! What do you think? Anything you're not satisfied with?"

Lin Feng looked around.

Past the living room was a corner that led directly to the new plantation, with a matching small door about three meters tall installed there.

Facing the main entrance, several large alloy framed windows stood open, letting warm sunlight spill across the floor and brighten the room.

At the corner was a circular staircase leading upstairs, fitted with redwood handrails and spiraling up to the second floor.

When he looked up to the side, between the second and third floors, there was a massive skylight, through which the color of the sky could be clearly seen.

And since there were no buildings opposite the villa, summer breezes would blow in from the forest.

It was a perfect place.

Warm in winter, cool in summer.

Lin Feng could not help nodding.

"It's excellent."
