Chapter 164 - Chapter 156: Restarting Pandora’s Box? A Mobile Task Force Made up of Anomalies!

BOOM!!!

Explosions rippled through the corridors.

Site-17 was on fire—again.

Containment breaches weren't exactly rare at the Foundation,

but this time… it felt different.

This wasn't a standard emergency drill or a single Keter breakout.

This was chaos.

Uncontrolled. Uncontained. Unthinkable.

And everyone knew how bad that was.

Because Site-17 wasn't just home to a kind soul like SCP-105,

but also the terrifying Level-4 reality bender SCP-239…

and even a god-level entity.

But what truly shook the audience was this:

Site-17's security protocols were legendary—the strongest of any non-O5 site.

So why, now, was it crumbling from within?

---

On-screen, the containment chamber of SCP-105 slid open.

An agent appeared in the doorway.

> "105, wake up. We need to move you."

The livestream audience immediately felt the tension spike.

Even Leon Lake, watching the feed, frowned slightly.

That line alone gave him a clue—

this agent was a rookie.

Because veterans never called her "105."

They called her Iris.

The site psychologists had insisted on it years ago—

using her real name supposedly kept her emotionally stable.

It's funny, Leon thought grimly. Even kindness can be part of containment.

---

In the footage, Iris looked nervous—but nothing like the scared girl she'd been ten years ago.

She took a steady breath. "Should I take anything?"

> "No time. We'll send someone for it later,"

the agent replied quickly, motioning her out of the cell.

He didn't even bother closing the containment door behind them.

And that single careless detail told everyone watching just how desperate things had become.

Gunfire echoed in the distance.

The agent drew his pistol.

> "Stay close. Don't fall behind."

They turned a corner—

and froze.

Three bodies lay sprawled in the hallway,

their blood painting the floor in crimson arcs.

Two were Foundation security officers.

The third wore a black uniform that no one recognized.

The audience went silent.

Even Leon Lake narrowed his eyes.

> "Intruders," he muttered.

---

S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters

"Wait, what?"

Natasha Romanoff slammed her hands on the table.

> "Someone actually infiltrated a Foundation site?"

Nick Fury's one eye darkened.

> "Don't underestimate other Groups of Interest. The Serpent's Hand, Chaos Insurgency… even rogue Foundation divisions have the resources to pull this off."

He leaned forward, eyes fixed on the feed.

> "But the question is—who launched the attack… and what are they after?"

---

Before anyone could speculate further—

another gunshot cracked through the corridor.

Bang!

The rookie agent's head snapped back.

He collapsed instantly.

The back of his skull was gone.

The audience screamed.

Iris froze in shock, then ducked into a nearby doorway, pressing herself against the wall.

Footsteps echoed closer.

She held her breath.

Seconds passed.

The sound faded—

the intruders had moved on.

She exhaled shakily and reached for the fallen agent's pistol.

---

At S.H.I.E.L.D., Fury's brow furrowed.

> "Containment personnel aren't authorized to carry firearms. If she's armed, that means she's already breaking procedure."

Then he smirked grimly.

> "But protocol means nothing if you're dead. In her situation, I'd grab a gun too."

---

Back on-screen, Iris crept through the dim corridor, pistol raised.

Most of the containment cells were sealed shut.

She avoided the ones that weren't.

No one knew what might have escaped.

And the people in black clearly weren't here for souvenirs.

The next hallway was wrecked—

cell doors torn from their hinges,

the smell of blood thick in the air.

Several black-clad bodies lay scattered across the floor.

And standing over them, gnawing on a corpse's arm,

was a massive ogre-like creature, nearly eight feet tall.

Bulbous nose. Spotted skin. Rows of jagged teeth.

He turned toward her, grinning with bloodstained lips.

> "Ah, ma chère!" he crooned in a thick French accent.

"Are you joining the party?"

---

The livestream exploded with panic.

> "WTF?! Is that thing eating people?!"

"Oh my god, that's an anomaly! A talking ogre!"

"I'm gonna puke—what the hell is the Foundation keeping in there?!"

The comments flooded the screen, horrified yet glued to every second.

---

Iris froze, heart pounding.

Still, she forced her voice to stay calm.

> "Fernande."

The creature's grin widened.

> "Care to share breakfast? I call this my morning workout."

> "No thanks," she said flatly.

She began walking past him—slowly.

No sudden movements.

Predators chase what runs.

Fernande chuckled, his voice thick with dark amusement.

> "Maybe we'll meet again, ma chère. A little date, yes? Very romantic~"

Iris suppressed a shudder and kept walking.

---

The next hallway warped with shadow.

A shape emerged—a cow, but entirely black, as if it absorbed the light itself.

Reality seemed to bend around it.

Leon Lake's eyes narrowed.

> "Another anomaly breach."

The black "cow" began to move toward Iris.

She turned and ran.

Bullets she could understand.

That thing? She didn't want to find out.

She darted into a side door, slammed it shut,

and leaned against it, panting for breath.

Then—gunfire erupted nearby.

Da-da-da-da!

Iris dropped to the floor, instinctively counting to three before glancing up.

In the hallway beyond, five men in black tactical suits were firing relentlessly from behind overturned tables.

Their muzzle flashes lit up the corridor like a storm.

---

From the other side, Foundation security forces returned fire—

but the disparity was obvious.

The black-clad intruders had superior firepower, superior numbers.

Stark Industries Tower

Tony Stark let out a low whistle.

> "They're outgunned. Whoever these guys are, they came prepared."

Colonel Rhodes nodded grimly.

> "Yeah… and this is just one corridor."

---

Something far bigger was happening inside Site-17.

And deep down, Leon Lake knew—

This wasn't just a containment breach.

It was the opening act of something much, much worse.

Pandora's Box

was about to be opened again.
